Clara Delos decides to move back to London when she breaks up with her long-term boyfriend. In her first few weeks back in the city, she gets accepted for an amazing position at one of the country's largest advertising companies, but she quickly realises that it's a little too good to be true. Waiting for her, sat back in her chair, feet on her desk, is one Andrew Contius.
Hanleigh is a USA Today Bestselling Author and is about as English as it's possible to be, without actually being English.
She first fell in love with books as a child reading Dr Seuss, but moved onto romance when she first read Pride and Prejudice at the age of twelve. She wishes she could live inside the world inside her mind, but since that isn't possible she puts pen to paper and shares that world with her readers instead.
I really like the start to this series and I love how it tied into the Rules series. Here, we see Andrew, a friend to and employee of Landon's, reconnecting with Clara. She was once the girl he teased mercilessly and is now his colleague and a woman for whom he can't get enough. It's both cute and pathetic.
Andrew still reverts to his childish ways on occasion in attempts to get Clara's attention. The story teeters between happy and sad as pasts are revealed with some big secrets surfacing in very public ways.
One of my favorite parts is how Clara handled the situation with her ex. It's fabulous! I could easily picture it and was cheering her on each time it was mentioned. 👊💥🎉
I'd suggest reading or listening to the Rules series first. There are spoilers for that series in this one. Don't worry, it's worth it. 😉
I went between reading and listening to the audio. The narrator, Leanne Woodward, did a good job. I'm looking forward to what comes next in the series.
** Review by Kylie from Bloggers From Down Under **
"He was the ruler by which I measured my growth. He was the stick by which I measured my tears. He was the tape by which I measured my success and he was the string by which I measured the size of my heart"
Set your mind back to your high school years, and imagine there is a boy who you were secretly, desperately in love with. Imagine if you never told him how you felt. Imagine being on the receiving end of taunts and teasing by said boy.
Now imagine if years later, you had the chance to set things right. Would you finally tell the man standing in front of you, your new work colleague, the boy of your dreams, how you felt all those years ago?
For you, it's him, it's always been him.
But what if you were everything to him too?
And what if just as you were getting your life together, one thing from your past is about to potentially ruin everything?
Another exciting series from Hanleigh Bradley, who brought us the entertaining 5 star Rules Series.
This book will seriously have you wanting more from this talented writer.
A spin-off from the Rules trilogy, Repeating History focuses on the characters Clara and Andrew.
I loved the whole concept of the history that connected them, and also created an intricate web of relations among their friends.
I loved Andrew's Apple fetish and I loved Clara's hate for him and how it changed over time.
At first, I hated Andrew. I hated him more than I hated Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey. And that's a LOT! But then, as with Christian, I came to know Andrew better. And I liked him. I still don't love him, but I do like him.
Clara was a good character but I couldn't 'feel' her, if you know what I mean. The story is told by two POVs, and I definitely loved the Andrew ones.
Also, the ending could have been better, I felt that the book ended there just so another one could be written. Like one book was divided into two (or three?) just to create a series.
All in all though, it was a short, easy and a fun read.
This is the first book in the History series, and I enjoyed it immensely. Andrew bullied Clara all throughout school, but she had no clue it was because he secretly liked her and didn't know how to show it. She thought he hated her the entire time, so when they're adults and end up working together she shows her distaste right away. Of course, sparks fly when Clara's near Andrew. Throughout the book, I'm left wondering how she plans on handling Andrew's advances. It's the end that catches me off guard, not knowing where their relationship lies. I'm definitely looking forward to book two.
I really loved the history between Clara and Andrew. Andrew liked her in school so he teased Clara all the time. Years later they have to work together. The chemistry between them is great and I liked the other characters in the book. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I hate cliffhangers! But the next book is out so I don't have to wait to read it.
Blurb: Clara Delos decides to move back to London when she breaks up with her long-term boyfriend. In her first few weeks back in the city, she gets accepted for an amazing position at one of the country's largest advertising companies, but she quickly realises that it's a little too good to be true. Waiting for her, sat back in her chair, feet on her desk, is one Andrew Contius.
This series start off strong with the story of Clara and Andrew. Andrew was brutal in his attacks when they were growing up. When Clara runs into him later he works hard to get her to see why. With their individual families and connections it isn't long before they are right back to fighting. . . except this time Clara is fighting it and refusing to admit she still wants him as bad as he wants her. It's just the beginning and they have a hard road to travel if they want it to work and Andrew is keen on that.
Great story as we also see some old faces and they are tied into the story. Strong characters and story make this a wonderful read and a series to enjoy.
Your past has a way of creeping back at you. It seems like what you remember is never quite what it seems. There is a saying of your side, their side and then what really happened. This story reminds me of that saying. My heart was sad for Clara while she learns to process what is happening to her. I love how Andrew won't stop texting her or trying to catch her attention. What they have is so tenuous but has the possibility of becoming really meaningful. I can't wait to find out more of their relationship.
History has a way of repeating itself. In good ways and bad. The past cannot be changed, but the outcome of the repeat can be changed. In good ways and bad. Beautiful story! The parts about Andrew and Clara's high school time brought back memories of mine. Luckily without the bullying... Very vividly written I couldn't put it down!

I loved listening to the audiobook version of this story. It was a great story and I finished it in a few days as I was eager to see what would happen next. I found the characters believable and relatable. I thought the narrator was good but I found it odd that the story was set in England, yet all the characters had American accents! The story ended on a cliff hanger and I would like to know what happens next. I shall look out for more from this author! Definitely worth a read! 😊
A fantastic listen this Author and Narrator has done a fabulous job at bringing this story to life. I really felt for both the main characters and I am really excited to listen to the next in the series. I literally could not go to bed until I was finished listening. I was on the edge of my seat. There are twists and turns that definitely keep me glued to this audio. This Author really knows how to grab the audience. I definitely recommend this listen. Shauna Joesten
I loved getting to know Clara and Andrew. The chemistry is off the charts. The banter between them is humorous and captivating. I enjoyed this story so much with the give and take between them, the connection with their friends and the family interactions. A wonderful story.
Being betrayed by her boyfriend was painful enough but the fact that he was doing it with her boss has Clara looking forward to her new job until she finds out who her co-worker is. She had been attracted to him when they were in school but the way he treated her left lasting effects.
Andrew and Clara went to school together and he has always been attracted her, but he didn’t realize that the way that he showed her he considered teasing, but she considered bullying. He is determined to show her that he not the same man and just when it looks like they are on the right track they are torn apart.
This is the beginning of a series and does end on a cliff hanger that leaves you wondering what the future holds for this couple. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and the performance of the narrator was a pleasure to listen to.
ENJOYED! A great read that at times was engrossing and hard to put down! Emotionally heartfelt that at times pulls deep into your heartstrings gasping through the emotional turmoil! A must read that is enjoyable, and keeps you on the edge of your seat!
this was a really good book! she had to get away from her cheating ex. took a new job and her boss is someone she knew from high school. now she has to see him every day. he wants her in a bad way.
Two characters that have known each other many years. He was not the kindest when they were children but he wants to make it up to her and show her why he was acting as he was. But she has now grown up and can stand up for herself. Can they get past this and get their HEA? Likeable characters. Well written story with nice storyline.
This story starts after broken rules and I loved how you got to meet landon and Aurora again as Clara and Andrew face there broken history. Clara can't believe she's finally got her dream job but that is short lived after she find out that Andrew Contius is her boss and childhood bully from school. Things heat up between them and start to change which had me guessing from the start if things will change for the better or will Clara be unable to deal with her past. This has everything you could want to read with the cheeky stubborn bad boy Andrew who knows what he wants and Clara who try's to stay out of trouble and not draw attention to her self and I loved there prov between each other that gives you there thoughts on how they feel during the story and I can't wait to read the next instalment
Repeating History starts out as a lighthearted and amusing story of two adults, now co-workers, who spent most of their childhood living next door to each other, but never really understanding the heart or mind of the other. Clara is certain that Andrew lived to tease and humiliate her, without a care for how she felt. Andrew lived his whole life, hoping to get her attention by any means possible. Don't most little boys show that they like a girl by pulling her pigtails or try to get their attention by throwing apples at them? Now in her new job, Andrew is Clara's boss and he's still as cute as the young boy she knew and he's still chewing on apples whenever she sees him. But those painful memories of how he humiliated her, haven't gone away. He feels the same way he always did about Clara and isn't going to let her get away from him without at least fighting for her. Clara starts to understand that her angry reaction to his bullying is covering the real feelings she has for him. Yes, she's always liked him, too, but couldn't see it until now. How can they have a growing attraction and relationship at work and not get caught by their co-workers! Clara demands that they stay away from each other in the office so their collegues don't know what's going on between them. What she doesn't know is that they have an office bet as to when the two will get together! Andrew's and Clara's siblings provide depth to the story and definitely have a way of encouraging or discouraging their romance. The story is rich with side characters that are essential to the progression of the plot. Just when things are coming together for Clara and Andrew, secrets from their pasts look like they're going to pull them apart. Those surprises are shocking in some ways, yet so maddening. A scandal is right around the corner that is going to test all that they know and feel for one another. I'm left with a tense feeling, needing to know what happens next! I listened to this on audible and the narration was excellent! Leanne Woodward speaks each voice and does them all admirably. Each character has a sound and a personality that she is able to bring through in her narration, making them all come alive!
Repeating History by Hanleigh Bradley is a enemies to lovers romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Leanne Woodward.
This is the second book of Hanleigh’s that I have read and it definitely won’t by my last. The story does end on a cliffhanger but that was no surprise since it’s the first book in the History Series. I cannot wait for the second book Deleting History to be released on audible.
Leanne did a good job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves enemies to lovers or second chance romances.
I enjoyed the overlap I noticed between this book and the Rules series (I haven't read the other series, but maybe some of them overlap too). love the dialogue between Andrew and Clara. This romance was funny and intense. The ending was definitely not a high point, though. I look forward to finding out what happens in the next book.
Clara is excited to be starting her new job after she had to leave her old one when she found her boyfriend having sex with her boss. That is until she discovers that the man waiting to show her around is the same man who made her life a misery at school. Andrew was attracted to Clara then and the teasing was his way of getting her attention. Clara loved Andrew back when they were younger but the taunting, teasing and endless bullying took it's toll on her confidence. She still measured everyone to him even through the hurt she still loved him so how with all that how can she stay neutral and work with him ?????? and he's her boss. Their story is told in dual POVs, great characters and brilliant twists and turns in the plot.
This is the first book in this series and this is such a brilliant auther. I have read almost all of this series so far and this auther is so much fun to read .Meet Andrew and Clara. They knew since high school with no so pleasant memories for Clara. Andrew was teasing and tormented her for years. Maybe he wasn’t in his mind. So,Clara is very upset when they meet again on her dream job. Funny part, they both got this job on Clara testimony what she will do on the job. So ,how come Andrew on his interview mentioned Clara “ the Girl I know and admire “ It’s going to be great series. Highly recommend this author. I read almost all her books and love them all!

A well written emotional rollercoaster of Andrew and Clara and their feelings for each other. Clara loved Andrew when they were younger but he taunted, teased and bullied her endlessly. Andrew who always loved Clara showed her he cared the only way he knew how by hassling and bullying. Years later they end up working together and he is her boss with sexual tension so thick you could cut it. Their story is told in dual POVs. As they are getting the life together and worki mn g on a relationship, the passed could ruin everything. There are good detailed characters but the book ends on a CLIFFHANGER.

Clara and Andrew have history together. He was her nemesis all through school. teasing and bullying her. She really had a crush om him. She didn't understand why he was so mean. Years later, Clara found out when she got her dream job, she would be working with Andrew. she dreaded working with him. she would she give him a chance and let him in? This story has many unexpected twists and turns that will effect many characters lives, in this story. and it ends in a cliffhanger. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story narrated by Leanne Woodward..I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review.
This was a really slow build bully second chance romance. Not my favorite trope to begin with and the FMC is just fixated on her past without the willingness to let it go until 3/4 way into the book. It got old for me. All guys are jerks in high school and he’s obviously making an effort to show her he’s changed. Then just when they get started drama from her past and his break them apart and she goes into hiding like a baby and won’t even talk to him. I will read book 2 only because this writer never lets me down so I’m hoping for the character to grow a backbone and let’s get this show on the road already.
Clara has a new job after she left her old job when she found her boss having sex with her boyfriend. The new job was looking great until Clara discovers that the man in the next room was the man who made her life a misery at school. What she doesn't realise was that Andrew was attracted to Clara, and the teasing was his adolescent way of showing that. Are they going to be able to build a relationship?

This is an Enjoyable, Entertaining, Must Read Book that I really enjoyed reading.
This is the first book in this series and this is such a brilliant auther. I have read almost all of this series so far and this auther is so much fun to read. I love how this book focus on the the history we all have and how it all connects us. This is where you will meet Andrew and Clara and although you may not like him to begin with he will grow on you in a good way. Highly recommend this auther.
