The Complex Book Series. A Lone Planet. One Complex. Unlimited Chaos.
Cupid has a death wish.
After nearly a thousand years chasing a cure to Cupid’s Curse, one that forces her to take heartache from others but prevents her from having a love of her own, Geneva Jayne has had enough. Now all she wants is to find some gullible mortal to take her immortality, so she can finally die in peace.
Just weeks into the Complex experiment, the Watcher’s highly classified mission hits a snag, so the enigmatic urban legend forces Geneva's reluctant assistance. This isn't the first time Cupid's had a sparring match with the Watcher. The first was hundreds of years ago when she took away his heartache – and his ability to see the future. Now Lennox wants his powers back, but Geneva refuses to give them up without a fight.
Cupid may have a death wish, but when her curse sets its target on the most powerful man in the universe, even the goddess of love may not be strong enough to resist.
Since sneak reading her first big girl romance at the age of eleven, Dylan's been addicted to Happily Ever Afters. Playing pretend with swoon-worthy book boyfriends and their strong leading ladies often keeps Dylan sleep deprived, though she seldom complains about dreaming in dialogue. With juxtaposed interests, Dylan writes it all ~ Character driven romance in NA, YA and adult, from sticky sweet to taboo heat ~ Urban Fantasy to Contemporary Romance and Romantic Suspense. Nothing's off limits.
When she's not writing guilty pleasures, Dylan plays stage mom to her daydreamer offspring in the Midwest. This Music fangirl goes nowhere without her beats and playlists. She has an affinity for Moscato and chocolate-covered strawberries. Dreams of singing on the Voice with Adam and Christina, and fantasizes about getting trapped in Mystic Falls with Damon Salvatore.
The further I read into this series the more excited I get! I know every author is introducing new races & situations & they are a perfect blend. I just hope these same authors continue this fantastic series beyond these first books
This book was not meant for me. It's not as if it was written badly or the plot was boring, I just couldn't quite get into it. I kept putting it down to do other things and then getting back to it again, hoping it would be different this time.
I only got through about 20% of the book. It's a good story, but there was so much sex talk that it detracted from the story. I hate when so-called fantasy or sci-fi books include so much sex or sex talk that it borders on erotica. I really wanted to know Lennox's story and see his & Geneva's relationship develop into something more. Other than that, the writing was a bit stilted in some places and editing could've been better. Some words were left out while others unnecessarily added; it was distracting.
I really liked this story, I just wish there were more about the rescue that will be taking place at the end. I love that the cupid is finally able to have love of her own. Her beginning was a sad tale. Cute story.
What a great, powerful, overwhelming shorter story. Straight and to the point, great story line in such a small amount of words! Loving this series so far!
