An interesting examination in three locations of the consequences of the forced expulsion of the German populations. The essays look at the results in terms of the economics, the historical consciousness, culture and day to day life. As the iron curtain fell again in the 1990s Heimwehtourismus became a possibility and the accounts of the visitors to the Kalingrad area are especially illuminating.
