If you want to see just how creative you can get connecting external devices to her Pi, this is for you.
The text has a lot of really great projects.... 90% of them are way above my head, but I did the best I could going through this. Projects like an FM radio and robot arm are awesome, this books seems to equally deal with other computer cards like Arduino. I learned a lot and have more that I want to read.

10 collected really good ideas. This is a good overview of setting up the pi and what you can do - I found the software defined radio chapter and the MPI/cluster/supercomputer projects the most inspiring but this is a good resource and idea generator.
