In this tenth addition to the series an old friend returns to Movies for good and the dog solves a murder. I absolutely love dogs, so this was a really good read for me. The food was mouthwatering too.

I just finished my first book in the Darling Deli Mysteries, which is the tenth book in the series. All I can say is . . . I’ve been missing out!

Author Patti Benning has a wonderful, fluid style with her writing. Each paragraph and chapter melds effortlessly into the next making HONEY BBQ MURDER a fast read.

A great whodunit with interesting characters, HONEY BBQ MURDER is a tasty morsel that will make you hungry for more! It’s a good thing I have book eleven, BEEF BRISKET MURDER on hand to gobble up next!

A very good addition to the series with some twists. It wasn't obvious who the murderer was and for a little while I got a bit misled. The murder story and investigation were a different from previous books which I liked a lot. Definitely one of my favourites in this series.
As always it wasn't rushed for being such a short read. A story very well told.

This is a tasty treat from author Patti Benning! Moira has been getting used to having more time off after making Darrin the manager of the deli. One day, Moira receives a phone call asking her to take in the missing dog she found. It seems the husband can't care for Keeva like his wife used to...she was recently murdered. Moira jumps at the chance to take Keeva back. Even though Moira has some questions about the murder, she is determined to stay out of it but some is intent on dragging her in.

I suggest not reading this series if your hungry, all the food descriptions will have your mouth watering for the deliciousness described. I really enjoyed this story, it seems trouble finds Moira in the least likely of places. I like spending time with these characters, they feel like old friends I get to catch up with and see what's going on in their lives. I'm looking forward to our next visit!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Darling’s DELIcious Delights has a new manager. Darrin is Moira’s first choice for the promotion when she decides to spend more time away from her deli. This extra time means she will be able to spend more time with her favorite people and Maverick. Moira has gotten used to being a one dog home when Keeva reenters her life. The husband of Keeva’s owner calls her to ask if she will take the dog back in the wake of his wife’s murder. Moira and David drive to Kentucky to pick up the wonderful dog. Soon after returning home Keeva becomes sick. The cause of her illness becomes the catalyst for more danger in Moira’s life.
This is another great addition to the Deli series. I enjoy seeing how both the old and new characters draw the reader in and we learn just enough new information to build interest. The author develops the plot at a steady pass. There is never a lull in the story. This series is one of my favorite. I look forward to each new book.

Another interesting cozy mystery. Moira gets Keeva the irish wolfhound back but only because the owner died. Could it be possible she was murdered and Keeva saw the whole thing and tried to stop the killer? Read the book to find out.

Kindle Unlimited, used to cozies, and tend to cut them slack, BUT...These are all as bad, and will do with review what the 'writer' did with the books, copy/paste cookie cutter. Each of these books are beyond stupid, as in stupid plots stupid situations stupid obvious solutions/killers, and no idea about what is being written about. She keeps writing about 'cooking' and judging by her 'expert' descriptions, she can't boil water. There are major plot flaws and issues and other problems in every single overpriced very short 'book' that still managed to do in every one without fixing glaring problems, one being redundancy of previous unneeded descriptions.

There are 4 stupidly insipid books in the Killer Cookie Series

Keeva, the Irish Wolfhound, is back with Moira after her owner is murdered.
Surgery reveals that Keeva's intestines had been blocked by part of a shirt and an attached cufflink - a detail that is completely disregarded despite being the proof of the murderers' identity.
Her new home is ransacked and she receives a phone call from the widower saying that he knows who (a) killed his wife and (b) is coming after Moira. He then, less than helpfully, hangs up. She doesn't make any serious attempt to follow up.
The fog finally clears just six pages from the end (of course the cufflink has been stolen by this stage) and the killer is brought to justice.
“Honey BBQ Murder” has probably the weakest plot in the series to date but that is more than made up for with Moira's daily life in Maple Creek and her work in the deli, not forgetting her 'almost' boyfriend, David.
3 Stars.

Great

This book has all the makings of a good cozy mystery. Short, fun, and an easy read. I the way the books all tie in together, but continue to stand alone. Looking forward to reading more.

Book 10 was a nice addition to the series however it was a bit slow for me. Ok so in this book Moira is still recovering from being shot in the previous book (spoiler), so she is taking some time to herself until she gets a phone call from Rick who is the owner of Keeva. If you have been reading the series, in book 9 Moira found a dog in her backyard and returned her to her owner (Chelsea.) Rick is or was Chelsea's husband. He called to give Moira the dog because his wife was murder during a robbery gone wrong. It seems that trouble finds Moira no matter what she does.

Ok so I am will not give anymore of the story away but it was just an ok story. I mean I really did like it but for book 10, I was expecting and wanting more from this story. I mean you found out what happened in the last chapter of the book but you don't really know why. Also the book had 17 chapters but as I was reading, I didn't realize that I read that much because it wasn't the typical book of Moira looking into the crime so it seemed like the book was dragging.

I am a huge Patti Benning fan and she did not disappoint when it came to the description of the food but in terms of the murder/mystery, I was disappointed. I feel like maybe this book was rushed a little bit to come out but I don't even know why the person who committed the murder actually did. We just know he/she might have done it but we don't know why. Also a new character is introduced so does that mean he will be in books going forward? I don't know it just of left me with a confuse feeling. I am hoping for book 11 we can turn it around. Maybe progress Moira's relationship a little bit more. I feel bad for writing this but I am kind of upset that I put another book I am reading to the side to read this book. All in all it was a good book but not great.

Another great book from Patti Benning. Honey BBQ Murder is book ten in The Darling Deli Series. I have loved this series from the start. The characters have developed into a bunch of old friends. Love the relationship between Moira and David as well as how much Candice has grown into such an independent woman. The storyline is nonstop excitement cover to cover.
Moira has hired a manager, Darrin to take over a few days a week to decrease her hours. Now she can have some downtime and enjoy her new home and spending more time with David, Candice, and Maverick. You know what they say about well layed plans! Moira gets a very surprising call from Rick Coleman, Chelsea's husband who owns Keeva. He tells her that Chelsea has been murdered and he wants her to take Keeva because he can't bear to look at her. It reminds him too much of Chelsea. He knows Moira will take great care of her. Moira jumps at the chance to get Keeva back and heads to Kentucky. When she gets there she looks thin. Rick tells her that she hasn't been eating or drinking that she is depressed. This is when things go down hill and Moira's good luck runs out! Keeva is very sick and could be the only witness to her owners murder??? Strange things start to happen at the house when someone breaks in and ransacks it. Now she doesn't feel safe in her own home. Has she somehow gotten in the middle of something she can't get out of this time???
This cozy will make you want to read and eat at the same time. The cooking that Moira does sounds scrumptious. Looking forward to the next installment in The Darling Deli series.

Another delectable cozy mystery by Patti Benning! The main character, Moira, is an introspective woman with a soft spot for dogs. She takes in an Irish wolfhound, Keeva, and things start to go down hill. She finds herself in the middle of yet another mystery and experiences some scary encounters. Keeva, a smart dog, is instrumental in solving the case. The suspenseful elements are on point. The food descriptions, as usual made me so hungry! If you enjoy culinary cozies, don't miss this one! The publisher provided me with a complimentary ebook copy in exchange for an honest review.

A doggone good story

Moira is back solving another mystery while making some yummy soups and sandwiches. Owning a successful deli and a German Shepherd is not enough to keep deli owner Moira busy so she jumps in to solve another mystery.

As always Patti Benning does a fantastic job with the story and the characters. With each new installment the characters become more real and the mysteries get better. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series. A must read for any cozy mystery fan!!!!

Interesting twist of events

This one was really good. I felt the ending was a bit abrupt. We find out who the killer is but we don't learn for certain why they did it. I would have given it 5 stars if that tidbit hadn't been omitted.

Disclosure: I received this book free of charge from the publisher. This review is my honest opinion, and is in no way influenced by the author or publisher.

At the end of book 9 I was afraid the series was going to end because of something Moira said... I am SO glad I was wrong!

Moira and David are amazing, as are Candice and her new love interest.
Patti writes the perfect blend of awesome characters, great pets, romance, food and fun!
I am enjoying solving the mysteries as much as Moira is, I'm just glad I get to sit back and not actually experience them!

I am excited to see what these guys are gonna get into next!

Great story

This was one of the best cases yet for Moira and David. Yet for a PI he was kind of slow on they uptake with a clue that was obvious. Who is misses something like that when a dog has swallowed something and their owner was murdered, I mean really! David needs to step up his game, and he needs to finally propose to this women so they can be together more that he now's she is safe every night. Just saying!

This is a terrific book! Moira gets a call from Rick Coleman letting her know that his wife, Chelsea, who owns Keeva, has died. He offers to let her have Keeva if she can go to Kentucky to pick her up. From the moment Moira gets back home from Kentucky things go wrong. The author certainly keeps things hopping! I couldn't put this book down until I finished it!

**I received this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review**

This is the first book I have read from this series, and all I can say is WOW. It is a short book, but she manages to pack so much into the story that it feels like a full-length book. It was so much fun to try to guess where each new twist would take you.

Story seemed to lag at times. Usually I can't put her books down, but found myself doing that several times while reading this one. Maybe it was because I guessed the culprit at the very beginning, and just kept reading to see how the mystery would unfold.
