What would you sacrifice to save the one you love?

Your money?
Your body?
Your blood?

Vampires are real and I'm in trouble. Fifteen grand to a vampire mob boss kind of trouble, and I have no way of paying the debt.

Blood isn't all the vampires are after--sex is their most sought after commodity and the one thing I've never had.

So I do the only thing I can to survive, I become a Blood Courtesan.

I've been sold to the highest bidder--a dangerous vampire new to Boston and someone no one wants to mess with.

Only one man can come to my rescue--the vampire enforcer with a killer smile--Kol.

But as I step into the vampire den and I'm forced to bare my body and my mind, doubt slowly creeps in--I don't think he'll be back in time to save me.

I have been an avid reader for longer than I can remember, desiring the darker, edgier works of Bram Stoker, Stephen King, Dean Koontz. I first started writing in High School giving that away when my first attempt was nothing more than dribble. I wish now that I kept at it, pursued it with a hunger that I currently possess.

Writing is my passion, it is what fuels the fires inside of me and it is an all-or-nothing furnace that keeps me up at all hours.

I am married to a wonderful supportive husband, I have 2 wonderful kids and the best friends that I have waited some 35 odd years to meet.

Bitten: Nova by Kim Faulks
Genres: Book Rejected
2 Stars (rating edited to be more accurate)

I have a feeling this author is going to end up in my 'Author Rejected' shelf. This makes the 3rd book of hers I have read.
The story line is interesting, but there are typos/editing errors and a variety of problems throughout.
The most annoying problem in this one is the sentence structure.
Also her descriptions of various actions and scenes are questionable.

Example: 'The hard wood was made soft by his hands.'

It does not make sense. This is a sample of something that happens often in this story.

There is rambling throughout the story.

I have 3 more of her books. I'm going to give them a try. But at this point I don't have high hopes.

🎵 Update.
I tried numerous books of hers.
They all sucked.
Author is now in my 'Author Rejected' shelf.

Bitten was OK Nova however was another young women written in very negative fashion but I did like elements of the storyline in Bitten. Nova is supporting an caring for her deadbeat boyfriend. Now his life is in danger because he can't pay back a loan of $15,000 to the Vampire he barrowed it from. The Vampire Enforcer Kol was sent to collect the money. Poor Dumb Nova decides she will sale everything to help Jared and Jared feels he should just do nothing to help save his own life. Jared is a real ass and deadbeat. At the end of the book you find out just how bad he has been using this stupid girl. The story is 90% of Jared and Nova having a dysfunctional relationship and the last few pages are of Kol saving her from a brutal Vampire attack along with Jared brutally attacking her too. Jared did more physical damaged to her while kicking her an beating her then vampire. At the very end Kol saves her they make love and he takes her blood The End!!

I have read bks 1-4 and the only one that is very good is bk1 Reborn. I returned bks 2 &3 for a amazon refund. I should never have bought all 4 bks at once. None of the stories are connected so it makes no difference in what order you read them. I thought this was series not a group of Stand Alone books. The only common thread in all the stories is that the women are all eventually become Blood Courtesans. That's it!!

This was my first book that I read in this series and I will definitely be going back to read the others. Really great character's and story line. I was not ready for the story to be over and would love for a part two to continue with Nova's story.

Bitten: The Blood Courtesan by Kim Faulks is a sexy and thrilling read!

Nova had a problem. It wasn’t exactly her problem but her boyfriend’s so basically the same thing. She was on a deadline or serious trouble would find them both.

Kol was a vampire enforcer. You never hid from him. He was dangerous and lethal.

Their paths cross and there’s no denying the attraction. Each stir up feelings they didn’t know they had. It’s dangerous and neither will be the same.

This book was amazing! I finished it in one sitting. I loved the story and the characters. Kol is so hot and I do love Nova’s fighting spirit. I do love vampire books and this one did not disappoint. If you’re a fan of vampires, this book is for you! I give this 5 stars!!!

Read the story to find out why sexy vampire enforcer Kol is amazing. Will Nova decide if being in Kol's embrace is worth the wait or not? Did Jared lose more than his chance?

This novella is a wonderful adrenaline rush to be had. Find out how Bitten is not to be missed!

Bitten: A Vampire Blood Courtesans Romance by Kim Faulk, Michelle gets 4.5 stars. This collaboration between these two authors is definitely worth the wait.

One night, one… vamp. 5 BLOODY FANGS

She didn’t belong here… she didn’t belong anywhere near this coven. One moment alone with her. One moment to show her everything I could give her. WHOA! WHAT A DARKLY BITTEN & BLOODY VAMPTACULAR STORY!! These are NOT your Romantic Hero-type Vampires… until they…are?!? and WOW! I wouldn't change that for anything! Except to give me more!! LOTS MORE!! I LOVE IT! I found this one to be quite different than the books I have already read in this VAMPY Blood Courtesan Series, and that is merely one of the many, many reasons I love it! The list of reasons I LOVE IT is rather long, so it might be easier to list the parts I didn't like! ...*silence*... *crickets chirp* :) So moving right along... I was VERY intrigued & enthralled with Kim's vampires! I love the differences with hers, how she wrote the darker side of them. The change that happens to Kol had me gasping and squealing at the same time! No easy feat, let me tell you! :) And for some reason I kept singing "Little Rabbit Frou-Frou" with a slight modification... The further in I read & the more I got to know Nova, I couldn’t decide if I was heart-sore for her, or wanted to knock some sense into her!! Definitely a bit of both, but I could completely understand WHY she did what she did. I may not agree, but I understood. And I will admit that by the time I was about halfway through, I had fallen in love with her and could only hope that it would all work out for her in the end! She so deserved it! I even came to respect & revere her! Then there’s Kol… AHHH, Kol! “Did I excite you that much? Not in your wildest dreams.” *My answer - oh but you do in mine!* Oh he had me fascinated, wanting to know his reasons for what he did, curious for his story, entranced & hanging onto the edge of my seat to see what he would do next! Of course every time I expected him to do something, he didn’t! He is definitely one very unpredictable and enigmatic Vampire, who had ME enthralled & mesmerized! Which is the very reason that I LOVE this dark & VAMPIRELICIOUS tale!!! I LOVE EVERY LITTLE DROP OF BLOOD that makes this story into the very same kind that had me hooked, no, addicted - okay INSANELY OBSESSED - with vampires way back when! Of course, there was definitely no naughty in those or my love affair would have ended before it even started!! (I was about 11-12 yrs old when I read my first vampire book! Don't do the math.) Being that this is my first book by Kim Faulks, I didn't really know what to expect, but was I ever blown away! Kim definitely is one BLOODY FANGTASTIC & VAMPIRENORMOUSLY talented author who held me in her Vampire Thrall from the split second I opened her book!! In fact, she has yet to release me! This book will forever live in my memory as the book that had me BITTEN, smitten & eagerly awaiting my next Kim Faulks fix!

Interesting and different than the few books I have read that for sure. I really did not like this one. The others I have read are really blockbusters but this one just wasn't right.
Nova Flynn is a naive human who is saving herself for her boyfriend Jared on there wedding night. He makes a mistake our does something stupid and she comes up with an excuse and bails him out. She has bailed him out so many times she goes threw money like water. But maybe this time he has done far more that she can help, fifteen thousand to a Vampire Mob Boss. Jared basically wants her to take care of it, being the great boyfriend that he is, he signed her up at Blood Courtesan telling her more lies.
Kol is a Vampire Enforcer, a stone cold killer, whatever his boss wants him to do he does. Usually what it is the boss lends out money with a high interest rate and if they don't pay he sends Kol, its real easy really pay or die. Over the decades, centuries Kol has been an enforcer but this last job left him wanting.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

The Blood Courtesan Series is one Rollercoaster ride after another. Written by different authors, but all interconnected by Michelle Fox. This book is written by Kim Faulks and is one of the best of the series that I have read. She gives us Nova, a sweet, naive human, who is desperately trying to "fix" Jared her boyfriend of several years. His get rich schemes and gambling keeps putting them in debt, and this time it's to a vampire and the amount is out of reach. Jared's idea of a fix: make Nova become a blood whore , sell her body and her blood to pay off his debts !! Nova being to blind to see he is using her, lies to the Madam, stating she's had sex before, when in fact she's a Virgin. The vampire she is contracted to, is not a nice person in any way , shape or form. He wants Nova's blood and body and will do anything to get it. Enter Kol a hard end, scary, yet appealingly gorgeous vampire, can he save Nova from both Jared and the other Vampire, if he does, what will he expect in return? Some violence involved maybe to much for some women, take care when reading this book. There are as I said some violent altercations, some hot sexy love making scenes, and a woman who finally finds herself in this book. To me it deserves 4.5 ☆'s for the great writing, character building and the way things are handled post trauma. I recieved a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

I HATE giving bad reviews! I'm upset that I feel like I HAVE to warn people about this book. I cannot for the life of me figure out how this book got such good reviews? The AMAZING reviews and a quote from the book convinced me to not only buy this book, but the next one in the series (hand meet forehead). The story was all over the place, the characters were hollow and undeveloped. Not to mention the fact that I couldn't find anything redeeming in any of them. The main character literally has no mind of her own & is about as dumb as they come. The story had potential but it was so poorly done. The writing had SO many problems with it I am literally to overwhelmed to list them all. It was painful to read! Lastly, after the book is over there is a preview for the next book (Taken) which had the main character (who JUST lost her virginity, by the way) being whipped until it hurt in a BDSM sex scene....uh huh....yeah, enough said. Plus, I really think we should be warned if a romance novel is going to go BDSM (or menage, etc...) because not everyone is into that. There were NO disclaimers!

I like a heroine with backbone, not my cup of tea.
What a waste of space Jared the boyfriend was and what a wimp Nova was. Unfortunately, she was still a wuss 75% into the book. I do not enjoy whiny, needing heroines who cannot help themselves.
She knew Jared was using her but had no backbone to stop him, even when she found out he had sold her not just for blood but also for sex. Nova was saving herself for marriage.
She could have pulled out of the contract as she had been misinformed but she went along with him prostituting her out. WHY? Even if she did tell Jared she never wanted to see him again and to get lost, why go through with it.
Kol was just so overdramatised as a vampire. He kept referring to himself as a monster. All too silly for my tastes. I forced myself to finish this book but I wasted my time.
The writing style was overblown, definitely shades of Count Dracula.
Not my type of vampire book. I like them to be strong alpha males, happy being what they are.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review

I am so loving this series, each book being written by a different author makes it even better because they are sharing one world but a different view of this world

This book is about a young girl that is in a very bad relationship one that she thought she wanted but has never really accepted, because she has not completely given herself to him, before she knows it he has gotten them both in a lot of trouble by becoming in debt with a very bad vampire, Nova decides she will help Jared by going to the vampire a paying him what she can where she meets Koi . Jared convinced Nova that becoming a blood courtesan is the only way to get the money to pay back the mob boss vampire. Things go very very wrong when the vampire that buys her time turns out to not follow the rules set by the madam. I can't give away anything else but OMG I loved how this played out, I Highly recommend this book and series

Fang-tastic!! A brilliant action packed story.
I loved it, couldn't put it down, i will certainly be checking out the rest of the series.

Poor Nova Flynn she will do anything for her boyfriend, Jared. Including trying to pay his off debt. When Kol the Vampire Enforcer comes to collect payment he gets more than he bargains for. As the story unravels, Nova starts to see through Jared's lies. The Lowlife boyfriend turns out to be a bigger Monster than the blood sucking Vampires he owes money to.
I was on the edge of my seat reading this.

This was a very good surprise...A+++++

I feel bad saying this but I didn't expect much from this book. I judged it based on a bunch of other MY .99¢ books that I've read that fell far from the mark.😚

I WAS SO WRONG!!!
First off I've enjoyed it not loved all the other books in the Vampire Blood Courtesans series.
Each book can be read as a stand alone, and this one is no different.
The authors did absolutely amazing work here. There was another book in the series that I had said before was my favorite. Well not anymore.
Bitten is now my top story in the series. It has an excellent story line, with a few twist and turns. The character development is awesome for a book that is so short. Lastly although the authors write Bitten, Taken and Resurrected (I haven't read the last two parts yet) as small series within the overall series Bitten was ended in such a way that you don't have to read the last two parts. So no major cliffhangers (which I detest)!
If the last 2 parts are a good as the first book I can't wait to read them!...... Which is exactly what I'm getting to do.

Mixed bag

I am finding the words to describe this book hard to find. There is potential and it is an instant desire book but with a manipulative boyfriend, debts and many years of baggage thrown in. I will say I found Nova overly trusting and sadly too willing to forgive though someone only aware of abusive relationships will do that. My biggest gripe was 1/4 of the book was a preview for as the author put it "the finale". If you are going to do that then maybe take that space to really bring more backstory and life yo your vampire as he currently feels flat and too reliant on his dark and dangerous air.

This quick read from the Blood Courtesans series was kind of uneven, in my opinion. Nova’s loser boyfriend is in debt to the vampires, and she’s trying to fix his problem. I wanted to smack her! I know we’re supposed to believe that she’s holding on to their relationship because she’s lonely, saddened because of her mother’s death, etc., but he’s a loser!! I just couldn’t really get past her stupidity. That being said, the scene with Devlin had my heart pounding. If only more of the book had that kind of edginess. Will I read on? Hmmm, the jury’s still out on that...

Kol and Nova

This addition to the multiauthor series is the first of a duo about Nova and Kol. Nova is manipulated into becoming a blood courtesan by her boyfriend, who owes money to a vampire mobster. Kol is an enforcer for the mobster. The suspense is good, it kept me reading. I'm not sure I liked any of the characters, however. And the teaser for the follow-up book, the second half of the duo, along with other excerpts, takes up the last quarter of the book.

Wow, this book is well worth reading.
It has plenty of action, betrayal and mindless adventure.
What's a girl to do with a boyfriend the vampires are after?
How are they ,meaning her, going to raise the money he owes?
Why does her boyfriend let her walk into danger?
Get this book.👍 you really enjoy it🎊

Saved by the Enforcer

Tricked by her so called boyfriend Nova enters the world of the Vampires. He owes money and once again she is the one who will try to pay his debt. Kol is a Vampire Enforcer and when he meets Nova he is entranced. Readers should enjoy this book but be warned as it is the first part of three. I would highly recommend this book to those who love books where love can occur in the strangest places.

It was definitely a fun and sexy read, I enjoyed the characters which definitely have more depth. I think the book could be improved if the plot was a bit more complex but the simplicity has its advantages as well.

I don’t like to give spoilers on the books that I read. I believe the blurb on the back is enough for you to decide if you will read the book or not. If you choose to read, enjoy!
