Detective Paige Whiskey comes from a long line of witches. They may not all be the most powerful, but they are outspoken and supportive of their community. She alone has no gifts. She can’t summon fire, can’t read minds. She knows the arcane. She’s studied it. That, along with her connection to the Whiskey Witches, lands her some pretty strange cases.
Like the sacrificial murders of St. Francisville, Louisiana. There’s a killer on the loose, choosing people in a vain attempt to raise a demon. Once she gets there, she realizes the murders were nothing more than an elaborate invitation, tempting her into the claws of the killer.
She does have a gift, a very powerful and terrifying one.
I really enjoyed reading Demon Show. This is about Paige and her gift. She is a Whiskey Witch and she thought that she didn't have a gift. However, she does and her family binds her gift and wipe 5 years from her memory. Now she is being lead into a trap. You have to wonder if the missing years and the fact that her family didn't help her learn about being a demon summoner will be her downfall.
I loved it! It was just to short for me. I knew this was written as a series going in though. Generally I would say I can't stand cliffhangers, but in this case I can't wait to read the next one!
This story dragged me in right from the first chapter. Very impressive plot, full of twists and turns. Murder investigation with the magical blinkers off, just got more difficult, with the inclusion of demons. Looking forward to the continuing story. Just got to see how everything plays out!
Demon Show brings us into a word where magic exists. Detective Paige Whiskey is called to a small town in Louisiana to consult on a murder. What she finds is a deeper mystery.
While it has an interesting concept, the writing seems to jump ahead logically at times giving the story a broken disconnected feel.
Demons, witches & Louisiana....what's not to like? Paige Whiskey comes from a long line of famous/infamous witches, but thinks that she doesn't have any of their power. She's soon to find out that she is wrong.
