Wow. That was actually an emotional roller coaster. At the end of the last book, Nia got hurt protecting Trystan. She ends up being blind in one eye and has a scar on her face. Trystan doesn't care and loves her anyway, but she is distant. Trystan is with Gwen now and loves her as well. He also loves Nia though and he feels like he is losing her. She is going through a tough time and he does not want to push her away, he just wants to give her space, the same way she gave him space after his messed-up relationship. It appears though that while Nia still loves Trystan, she may not be in love with him anymore and is instead falling in love with the blue succubus. This book felt more real than other books like it. Usually in fantasy Harem type books, the main character can has sex with any woman he wants and all of them are completely okay with that situation. No jealousy, no animosity, just sex and friendship. While that can be enjoyable to read at times it is not realistic. I wondered while reading most of this book if Trystan regretted being with Gwen and letting Nia be with Sunara. I really can't see being "in love" with more than one person. Sure you can love more than one person, but not be in love with them. (the only way it might work is if a group of people were all in love with each other). It seemed like everything was going well in the last book, but it didn't last. Trystan felt more alone and isolated. He also felt manipulated. The ending was completely amazing. I never saw the plot twist coming and it changed the way I felt through most of the story. This author is doing an awesome job and manipulating my emotions and his story is imaginative with surprises I would not expect in these type of books. I mean this is a fantasy harem story! Who new these type of stories could be so complex and emotional too?
The novel keeps the same trend, it is impresive that the author is actually trying to make this mutch more that a porn words kind of novel so I commend the effort. The relationships development could take a better take but its not bad at all. The betrayel wasn't so surprising but still stung a little meaning that we cared more about it that we realize at first.
