Rite of Redemption

Rite of Redemption is the third and final book in the Acceptance dystopian trilogy by Sarah Negovetich.
I will be the first to say I am not a huge dystopian fan, but Negovetich's writing hooked me in the first book and kept me buying the subsequent books in the series.
Plot - As with all dystopian books, the world as we know it has been reorganized after a cataclysmic event. The Cardinal is the epicenter of power in this society. In this book, Rebecca, the central heroine, is after taking him down. And of course, only she, as the face of the resistance, can do so. I thought the stakes were set high and Negovetich delivered on suspense, obstacles, and distrust among characters/entities. Back in 2014, Sarah Negovetich introduced me to a strange, harsh new world by releasing Rite of Rejection and although she never intended to take this story any further, she listened to the pleas of her readers and gave us more in Rite of Revelation. Even though I thought this story couldn’t get any better, it did – and it blew me away. Now Ms. Negovetich has wrapped up this trilogy in Rite of Redemption and it was everything I have come to expect from this author plus so much more!
This is a story of hope, love, the desire to belong and the desire to change the seemingly impossible. It is also a story of believing in yourself and doing what you feel is right despite what others might feel is wrong. Most importantly of all, this is a story of the desire for something better, but finding out that sometimes it’s hard to change a system that people have come to believe has kept them safe for more than a century. Knowing who to trust and discovering that those you trust objectives are not aligned with yours really make this story one that will have you second guessing everything that has been laid out before you.
Rite of Redemption was a spectacular finish to what has become my favorite trilogy! I am sad that it has come to an end, but extremely satisfied with the final outcome. I loved everything about this series - from the concept, the characters and the world that Ms. Negovetich created. Rite of Redemption kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading wondering how this story would end. Suspense, action, love and betrayal and the desire to change a system that just isn’t working, brought this series to a dramatic ending that wrapped up very nicely.
Sarah Negovetich has become one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait to see what she gives her readers next. If this series is any indication of what she can deliver, I know without a doubt that whatever she writes, it’s going to be awesome.
If you are looking for a great read that is uniquely different and impossible to put down, then this series is one you will definitely need to check out especially if you like Young Adult Dsytopian fiction.

Rite of Redemption was the spectacular ending to a fast-paced, dystopian series that I thoroughly enjoyed. In fact, I don't think I've ever enjoyed a complete dystopian series this much.
Rite of Redemption starts off exactly where Rite of Revelation ends. The village of Arbor Glen was destroyed by the Cardinal's attack. Several people were killed during the attack, and Allmore is dealing with the refugees. Rebecca wonders what will happen to everyone now.
The Freeman villages continue to be attacked and Rebecca realizes that she has to do something. Liam convinces her to try and gather the support of the other villages to form an army to attack the Cardinal. But it isn't until they reach the village of Blue River that Rebecca, Eric and Ethan discover how deep the resistance to the Cardinal goes and who is involved.
Once again, Rebecca finds herself in many dangerous situations. I found that I forgot how young she and Daniel actually are! But I think they are certainly wise beyond their years.
The Cardinal really is an awful person, but we also see Rebecca's mother again and she is horrendous as well. We meet a few new people in this book who are great, but we lose a couple of characters too. I thought it was really interesting to see who was actually part of the resistance. It definitely gave Rebecca the courage she needed to do the difficult things necessary for the Cardinal to be destroyed.
Sarah Negovetich writes an amazing story that quickly draws you in and keeps you invested in the characters' lives. I was rooting for Rebecca, Daniel, and Eric throughout the book. All three characters really came into themselves and discovered what their true path in life was.
I won't give away the ending of the book, but I was very happy with how things came to a close. It wasn't exactly what I expected, but it fit with the characters and I felt very satisfied when I finished the book. If you've read the first two books, you need to read the final book right away! If you haven't read the first two, then you can read all 3 at once. I highly recommend these for anyone who enjoys the YA dystopian genre.

Enjoyed
I am so sad this series ended...But it now gives me time to read more of this authors work. The series was easy flowing, and caused many lights to go on. When too much power is given to one person or toone group or even several groups over the masses, abuse will and does happen. When we put too much faith in those of power we will lose who we are and who we can become. We think that because we are provided with what we feel our necessities when in fact they are wants that it is for our own good. The story may be different but the powers show the same. A series very much enjoyed!

Here's the thing. This trilogy is absolutely part of the post Hunger Games era. In fact, almost every aspect of the series can be matched up with something in The Hunger Games. Plus, it's not written as well. But I did read the entire series. I wanted to know how it would end. So, I'm not recommending this because there are other books in this genre that are better. I'd rate the series as a whole on the very low end of 3 stars.

A really good wrap up!
While I thought the first book too an incredible amount of time to get me interested, book 2 & 3 difinently made up for it all! This was a great conclusion to the series with the twist & turns it took, & how you doubted almost everyone's sincerity you met. But overall a nice paced read to finish out the storyline.

Great Story Line
The writter has a way of making you feel as though you are living right there with the many characters. I applaud this and gladly give 5 stars. The book is so well written you cant stop reading. I recommend this book for everyone .

This is a great end to the series. I must admit I was a little worried in the middle that it was going to end badly, but I came away satisfied and glad to have read through the whole set.

Ladies and Gentlemen. Let me tell you guys a story of a series that's taught me a lot about the book world. A series that came out of the gate strong to a market that said 'dystopian is dead'. A market that said this little novel wouldn't find an audience of its' own and would fall into obscurity. In just shy of two years, this one series showed those naysayers what one powerful addition to the genre can do. Taught me that no genre is dead so long as there are dedicated readers to devour it. I give you Sarah Negovetich's acclaimed Acceptance series, friends.
Coming off the tails of the first two highly-acclaimed novels in this series, Rite of Rejection and Rite of Revelation, could Rite of Redemption live up to the high expectations?
It sure does. And then some!
The end of a series is always bittersweet. From the very first opening sentences I find myself bracing for the emotional wreckage we'll face at the end, never knowing who or what will make it through the final chapters. I always am leery when it comes to reading a series finale, but I could never not read one. I'll just go ahead and throw this out there: Rite of Redemption was one of the most satisfying series finales I have read to-date.
I won't say much about the plot to avoid spoilers, but even though Negovetich has spent three novels building up to the climactic ending to the Acceptance series, she definitely held on to the best plot twists until the very end. We learn more about our favorite characters than ever before and definitely learn to embrace the unexpected as all the stops are pulled out in this epic finale. You won't want to take your eyes away for one minute, this fact-moving plot will hook you from the beginning and won't let go. Just when you think you've got it figured out again, another plot twist leave you gaping! I will say that I was very satisfied with the way Negovetich was able to wrap up most all of her plot lines in a very neat way, not leaving the reader feeling unsatisfied in any way.
That being said, one has to take into consideration the extremely dark tone and themes of which Negovetich has embraced throughout this series. While we could all hope for the happily ever after, any true fan knows that that happiness isn't going to come without high cost. This series finale is such a raw and truthful look a a dystopian future that at times, it's difficult to read. More than one scene had me near-screaming at my Nook in 'WHY!?'. It's truly a powerful ending to the series and Negovetich really shines with her writing.
I think one of the most powerful notes I can make about the Acceptance series is that looking back on the series as a whole, I don't really see the lines where one book or plot line ends and another begins. For a debut series, Negovetich did an absolutely incredible job right from the start with laying out her series and characters. Rather than telling three detailed-oriented stories, Negovetich tells one singular story with some side-stories to boot. It's an incredible series full of gripping emotion, edge-of-your-seat suspense and action, and just enough young adult reflection and romance to keep the reader more than satisfied. It's truly the testament of a talent such as Negovetich to evoke such strong emotions in a debut series. Massive kudos to you Mrs. Negovetich.

At the end of the last books things were bitter sweet. He had some major losses but we also had some victories and a sense of home among the Freeman. The Cardinal is bound and determined to hunt her down at all costs. When his men start to attack other Freeman villages to that end she knows without a doubt it will never stop and no one is safe from him. She is the face of resistance, the only one people have seen stand up against him with her broadcast and escape and now it’s time to convince others it’s time to fight.
This series has come so far that to think in the first book Rebecca was sent to the PIT by the Machine predicted she would be a horrid criminal. Now having found out the Machine really pushes out those less than perfect or more common those who question the Cardinal and his system in any way. Weeding out the undesirables basically. Now as one ready to fight to remove him and his machine maybe the Machine was right, she is breaking some laws now. It all plays back to the initial book where you wonder if they were always meant to be criminals or if they only turned to criminal type behavior because they were put in there? I love how it all plays back around.
It’s been two books in the making but the characters we grew attached to in book one, and the ones we found and brought into our family in books two are ready to take on the Cardinal. It’s scary and will be hard but they know it’s no longer about escaping and hoping to find peace. He will never let them have peace, so they must free themselves and the world from his evil. It’s almost hard to remember where one book ended and the other picked up as the whole series flowed so smoothly between them into one seamless story. We spent most of the last book in the Freeman villages whereas the first we spent mostly in the PIT and in book three we are constantly moving giving us new and exciting places to learn about and discover, growing the world.
The characters arcs from start to wherever they end up, they have all been through the wringer. We’ve lost those we loved and we have gained some along the way as well. While the books do seem bleak and dark at times they are also full of hope and love in a way that helps level them out and give the characters something to fight for. Some have been changing constantly and others have had more subtle changes along the way. Loss and grief are something many of the characters face and how each one reacts differently is so true to life it hits home.
The first two books were good but this conclusion really amps up what has been building in the back of the series and leads you to what I’d say is a very satisfying conclusion. It manages to have it all and keep you guessing along the way.

Rite of Redemption...the ride comes to an end with this last installment to the series.
The Freemen villages are being attacked by the Cardinal, trying to find Rebecca and bring her to justice...the Cardinal is obsessed with her capture, and has no regrets to whom he harms that gets in his way.
Something needs to be done...the Freemen need to be warned to protect themselves, so Rebecca has no choice but to go on the road to try and bring them together. However, Rebecca discovers this will be harder than she expected. Who can she trust? Who has their own agenda? Is she willing to lose any more loved ones in the process?
As each book in this series, Rite of Redemption is so fast paced, nail biting good I can't even express into words. With the twists and turns rushing in when you least expect it, it's a story that you can hardly put down and count on a late night. Action, betrayal, new loyalties and heartache, this is one AMAZING creative read that I CAN NOT express enough that you need to experience this world.
Words? I saw no words on the page while I was emerged completely in the story. Incredible writing and detailed description will do that.
I am torn apart, heartbroken to see my friends go...Characters that I have fallen in love with and have rooted for them through the horrendous control of the Cardinal. Rebecca, Daniel, Elizabeth, Ethan, Eric (yes, even him), and so many others that have become so real in this amazing and harsh world. (I really hate Rebecca's Mom, BTW) Each with their unique personalities, different backgrounds and talents have become a family closer than any blood family could ever dream of.
Sarah, I thank you with all my heart for this incredible world you created. Thank you for sharing your creative imagination with the world....and for the emotional roller coaster.

As each book in this series, Rite of Redemption is so fast paced, nail biting good I can't even express into words. With the twists and turns rushing in when you least expect it, it's a story that you can hardly put down and count on a late night. Action, betrayal, new loyalties and heartache, this is one AMAZING creative read that I CAN NOT express enough that you need to experience this world.
Words? I saw no words on the page while I was emerged completely in the story. Incredible writing and detailed description will do that.
I am torn apart, heartbroken to see my friends go...Characters that I have fallen in love with and have rooted for them through the horrendous control of the Cardinal. Rebecca, Daniel, Elizabeth, Ethan, Eric (yes, even him), and so many others that have become so real in this amazing and harsh world. (I really hate Rebecca's Mom, BTW) Each with their unique personalities, different backgrounds and talents have become a family closer than any blood family could ever dream of.
Sarah, I thank you with all my heart for this incredible world you created. Thank you for sharing your creative imagination with the world....and for the emotional roller coaster.

I received this book to give an honest review.
This is the final book in the Rite of Redemption series. If you have not read the other books in this series I highly suggest you pick them up.
Rebecca and her family that is what everyone in her village is to her, know that soon they will have to bring down the Cardinal it is just a matter of time before he takes more from Rebecca and others that live in the villages. She has been away from the PIT for quite a while and has settled down a bit with Daniel in a semi-quiet life in a village. When the Cardinal decides to keep hunting down Rebecca and those who may know where she is it up to her to end this once and for all, but can she get others behind her in her mission? The more she pushes to request help from the other Freeman villages she becomes stronger and stronger, maybe the machine was right as she would be the Cardinal's enemy. Everyone will lose someone close to them and some will have someone in their past come back and be on their side. There are those that do want the Cardinal to go down and Rebecca will have to figure out who is truly on her side and who is playing her.
Now as far as the fighting went there wasn't much of it, it seems the Cardinal i.m.o. went down pretty easy. I really like how everyone plays a part within the this story and how people like Daniel have the talent to mess around with technology.
I think the way this book ended was a good way to end the Acceptance books. I felt there was closure though I wound't be mad if the author wanted to do another book just so we can see how all the characters are doing, and how maybe the world looks now that the Cardinal is gone.

After escaping the PIT, Rebecca found her own form of acceptance in Allmore. She married Daniel, wanting nothing more than to lead a quiet life with her family and friends. Those dreams are shattered moments after exchanging her vows with the news of the Cardinal's guards attacking Glen Arbor. While they were able to stop the attack, there were still losses.
Patrice, Daniel's beloved sister, was killed, leaving Daniel only a shell of the man she loves. His only interest now being on revenge. With more villages being attacked by the guards, Rebecca knows the Cardinal will never stop until he finds her. Hiding is no longer an option. She has to fight back against the Cardinal, and fighting means sacrifices. This time she'll have to give the ultimate sacrifice: herself.
The final book in the 'Acceptance Series' does not disappoint whatsoever! It literally was everything I was hoping for and more. Picking up where the last book ended, the author propelled the story forward with an intricate blend of suspense, action, and twists and turns. We are introduced to new characters, as well as reunited with old ones, bringing the story full circle. And while the ending was a tad bit rushed (I would have loved to see a bit more time spent with the Cardinal, as everything led up to that event), the story wrapped up in a wonderful way that left this reader satisfied. Overall, I look forward to reading more adventures by this very talented new author

Refreshing revolution
This series captured me in a complex moral, emotional and ethical journey. Excellent writing AND editing (yay) woven in a way that didn't dictate or manipulate my opinion or viewpoint . And all of that in a quick and enjoyable read. I truly look forward to more by Sarah Negovetich

Rite of Redemption - Acceptance book 3
This series had been great to follow. The main characters are well developed and fun to follow. Some easy to live, others easy to hate.
This is a great story for the depravity caused if one person holds to much power.
Editing is pretty decent.

Sad I am done
I really loved this series. Loved the characters, the setting. Sarah does a great job at writing. Really getting to know the characters and the relationships in the book. All around great book.

I was a bit trepidation about reading books 3 in this series after the 2nd didn't live up to my expectations. However, I wanted answers, so I dived in. Very glad I did, too!

Sweet End to an Excellent Trilogy
I am a HUGE fan of good ending and this trilogy did not disappoint. To the amazing author, I want to say; Thank you for sharing Rebecca's journey with me. I was a bit worried, as beloved characters were sacrificed that I may be disappointed at the end. HOWEVER, I AM THRILLED. You left me with questions, and a desire to imagine a great future for your characters. It is a beautiful story and one I am glad I finally took the time to read.

Good series
I started this series with the thought of lite YA reading. So much for that! I got the first book free, then ended up buying the last two. I couldn't not know the ending, now could I? The characters were fairly well developed and likeable (good guys anyway). There were a few parts I'd liked to of found out more about. Spoiler alert! It did have a happy, expected conclusion. Sometimes that's how a reader likes it to go.

Great read
Loved the story and the characters. (However, it could use some editing for missed and wrong words.) Thanks for the adventure. I hate to say good-bye to all my new buddies from the books!
