There's a Terrifyingly New Kind of Crisis in the Mideast... The huge Aswan Dam is crumbling, riddled with underwater faults. Its collapse will loose 1,800 billion cubic feet of water. A tidal wave capable of sweeping Egypt into the sea, and which could threaten Europe with disaster. A nuclear blast might seal the leaks, or it might create complete catastrophe. Technology can't find an answer. Politics can't negotiate a solution. Science is helpless. And for no natural reason, the waters of the Nile have begun to rise higher...and higher... Where do they come up with these ideas? Egypt's Aswan Dam, the pride of Colonel Nasser, bursts wide open, threatening to drown millions in its path, and only Israel can save the day! Michael Helm showed a great sense of timing having his novel come out just around the time of the October 1973 War.
