A previous lifetime. A malevolent curse. A love they can’t live without. Will their past claim them once more? Elizabeth and Adam are about to find out ...

Elizabeth and Adam survived the century old curse that nearly claimed the lives of their counterparts, Josephine and Braden, but at what cost?

As the veil between timelines continues to diminish, they yet again find themselves in a race against time to cheat death in the past in order to salvage their futures. But with the curse given form, everything is changing, leaving them vulnerable to new threats. No longer are the dangers of their former lifetime contained to the Jefferson Plantation—a land fraught with peril and where horror reigns every summer between July 20 and August 13.

Until now ...

Having changed the past, history has rewritten itself, extending the last day of the haunting to August 31—their new expiration date. Without the aid of visions, though, Elizabeth and Adam must find a new way to uncover their past, leaving Adam to scour the plantation for clues, while Elizabeth learns how to access Josephine's subconscious.

Meanwhile, the Callahans—a vengeful family intent on keeping Elizabeth and Adam apart—will stop at nothing to preserve their bloodline and keep the curse from destroying their family. Will their ruthless antics prove tragic once more?

Now more than ever, their love will be tested as Elizabeth and Adam contend with the forces of the curse and fight to save their counterparts in 1905.

Will they overcome the odds stacked against them? Or will the curse claim them for good?

Warning: Occasional coarse language. Intended for Mature Young Adult audience.

First and foremost-If you haven’t read intertwined this book will make absolutely no sense whatsoever.

This picks up where Intertwined left off and we get a very adventurous, dangerous and more mature read. The story is told in the view of Elizabeth and Adam and this helps us see what they are seeing and thinking as they battle Rey, the Callahans and the curse that will kill them if they don’t stop it.

We see the growth of Jenn Marie’s writing in this book for it is stronger and more emotional. She gives us more suspense and twists as well. We see Elizabeth’s fears played upon and Adam realize he must prove himself. He and Braden must. And boy does he it is so so beautiful and sad.

This takes place in the span of about 2 weeks the story but it is packed with so much punch. Adam and Elizabeth need to learn to work together and trust one another so that they can figure out what is going on.As they change the past they must see if history of Elizabeth and Braden changes. But what no one thinks can happen happens. And man will your jaw drop.

As Adam and Elizabeth navigate the world of Josephine and Braden and figure out how to change time in the past and events we see them become stronger in some ways but also weaker. Elizabeth begins to let doubts about Adam wiggle in but we see her fighting so much for Josephine and Braden. Adam begins to fight for Josephine as well by learning who she is. He hopes that this will help Elizabeth see his love for her is for all of her but I think it confuses her. We watch these two race against time to save their past selves so they can have a future. Their friends help as well. Patrick and April are awesome. they are there for Adam and Elizabeth no matter what helping them solve this mystery and break the curse. Rey is taunting Elizabeth and manipulating events causing more strife and tension and Jack is really unhinged.

I love how Adam and Elizabeth have a bond and love that is strong. They are willing to fight and sacrifice for one another. They are working to figure out the past and change it while keeping who they are in tact.

this is a fast paced, action packed twisty story that at times gives the creeps. Like RL Stine and Christopher Pike creeps which is awesome. It also has moments that are sweet and tender your heart swells and just roots for them to make it and be together in the end.And that ending wow...I need the next book please...

The starting was a bit confusing for me because it's been a while since I read the first book. So I had to refresh my memory before starting to enjoy this book. Boy oh Boy did I enjoy this book!!

I absolutely loved the first book inspite of being miffed at the ending. So I thought this one might be as good. Was I wrong? Absolutely! This one is better than the previous book and I say it without any hesitation.

Usually I find it hard to review books in a series other than the first one. But I have a bit to say about Tethered. First let me start with the characters. Adam and Lizzie, as I pointed out in my last review, are strong and their strength is clearly seen in Tethered too. If it wasn't for it they wouldn't exist. I absolutely get a chill when thinking on their characters. They are entwined with the ghostly/apparition Josephine and Blake forms that it is quite chilling. They are seamless joined in their portrayals and it had my heart racing. Another person I want to mention is April. She is the quintessential supporter in this story. I loved her helping the protagonists and her quirky nature.

The author knows well how to present a finely crafted heart hitching mysterious story. There were places where I was anxious, fearful and angry. I was so immersed in the story and the characters that I was feeling what they were feeling and this book has such a complex set of emotions that I was sure my heart would burst at one point. Kudos to the author for such a fine fiction. It's not easy to capture the emotions of a reader so completely!

The only negative I can say is that I have to wait for the next book! I recommend these books to all the readers who love a bit of mystery, horror and romance mixed up in their reads.

I received a copy for reviewing purposes. This doesn't affect my review in any way. These are my own thoughts on the story.

My one line review : A perfect blend of mystery, paranormal and romance.

My rating : 5/5

My reread factor : 4/5

Oh, sweet baby Jesus.  I'm pretty sure Jenn Marie is trying to kill us all with the glory that is this series.  When I read the first book, it pretty much sucked up every waking moment and negated everything else in my life.  It's one of those stories that just dominates reality and pulls you in so thoroughly that when you're not reading, you're thinking about the story line.  I'm always a little nervous with second books, especially when I love the first one as much as I loved this one.  But this story did not disappoint!  It took me a little longer to get into this one at the beginning, but that was only because I had to backtrack a little and remind myself of the things that happened in the first book.  So if you're starting this series from the beginning, you're in great shape!  If you've already read the first one and it's been a while, you might want to refresh yourself a bit.  Getting lost in a great book is never a bad thing, anyway.

I seriously spent so much of this book screaming at characters that I can't even explain my feelings to you.  Not in a way that's really going to justify them, anyway.  But here's the thing.  I was screaming at them because every single one of these characters feels so real and so incredibly alive.  They're all so easy to relate to.  I mean, the rest of us don't typically find ourselves snatched out of our current bodies to be deposited into memories of our 1905 incarnations, but that's beside the point.  The characters, both major and minor, are lovable.  Their personality traits make them easy to understand and easy to get attached to.  I will never get enough of this series.  And it's a good thing since Miss Jenn Marie dumped us right off with more questions than answers again!  I've got to hand it to her.  I'm usually pretty hard to surprise when it comes to mysteries and plot twists, but there was at least one in this book that completely blindsided me.  It's safe to say I'll be agonizing over what happens next and anxiously awaiting the next one in this series!

I was absolutely thrilled to find that not only did Jenn Marie expand on the lore and mystery of Intertwined in this second installment, but she added so  much depth to the characters as well!  Plus, her writing drew me in even more quickly, making this at the top of my Fall Reads list for 2017!
Although I will admit, I had the impression this would be a duology, I'm actually glad there will be more, as the family histories have become a bit more complicated, as has the actual plot thread tying the past and present together, so we can always use more!
If you enjoy YA mysteries, historical novels, supernatural thrillers, or just want a unique read, grab Tethered for a wild ride(be sure to read Intertwined first.)

THanks to the publisher and tour host for review opportunity.

Brilliant! Just keeps getting better!
I absolutely love this series! I thought the first book, Intertwined, was brilliant, but Tethered was even better. Jenn Marie's once again demonstrates her incredible writing and storytelling skills, as she seamlessly weaves the events happening in 2 totally different time frames into a thrilling journey, captivating the reader and leaving them breathless. Just like Intertwined, I read this book in one sitting (until the wee hours of the morning). Fans of Young Adult, Paranormal Romance and the Supernatural need to read this series. I read a LOT, and this series is up there with the best I've read. Can't wait for the next book!

I got sucked into this sequel so quickly. The underlying story is progressing and developing bit by bit keeping me hooked to see where things go for these characters. Even still after the story is ending I'm itching for more about the curse and the modern-day people who take part in it.

If you like YA or super-natural stories, you will enjoy Tethered!

This second book sees Elizabeth and Adam continue to fight to save their past selves (Josephine and Braden) from the curse. I love the premise of this series, and I especially enjoy the parts set in 1905, but I didn't feel the sense of urgency to finish this one like I did for this first. For me, the contemporary romance was a bit overdone and the constant making out got a bit tiresome - I found myself skipping those parts to get back to the story, like those parts that involved Rey - he is the most interesting character. It finished on a twist to the story (although I had worked it out) and it seems we won't see the conclusion until sometime in autumn 2018.

Overall, I enjoyed the read but not as much as the first one. Rating: 3.5 stars. I received a free Kindle copy from the author, and I am voluntarily giving an honest review.

Elizabeth ended up in a situation she never could have predicted, with a case of mistaken identity, locked in a supposedly haunted house to find clues before she can get out. But she was not alone- she found a stranger named Adam who came to investigate the hauntings and ended up locked up with her. Joining forces, they find the clues, but before they can get out, something happens and Elizabeth is attacked. Now that they are free from the house, nothing is the same, and it feels as if they are not alone. Trying to get to the bottom of whatever happened, they stumble upon a curse and so many secrets. Can they break the curse and save themselves as well as the past?

I didn't get a chance to do a review for Intertwined so this will be a review for both books basically, which makes sense to me sense I read them back to back and the stories just bleed in to each other since it was a continuing story in my mind. Can I also just mention that I am so glad that I had both books to read back to back?? Book one ended on a crazy surprise that left my jaw hanging open, so I picked up book 2 and kept on the journey with Elizabeth and Adam, which was set just a few hours after book 1 ended. Both books are 350+ pages but the way Jenn writes makes it seem shorter since I blew through the pages since the pacing and writing was really well done. I sat down one afternoon to start Intertwined and ended up spending my whole rainy weekend wrapped in a blanket on the couch with my furry reading companion, engrossed in the pages of this world and finishing both books.

This book is so unique and compelling, just what I wanted without me even knowing it. I expected to enjoy the story, but not to be sucked into the story and never want to let it go. Jenn's bio states that she likes to write romance-horror, and that is so spot on. This story has such a beautiful romance between Adam and Elizabeth, two lonely teens who inadvertently found themselves tied together through the past but are willing to sacrifice everything to try and safe the other. Seriously, it was so sweet... while in the midst of some crazy, shocking terror. The horror elements made me turn on all the lights, the hair raise on my arms and me look over my shoulder to make sure no "person" was standing behind me. Between flashes of the past, terrible abuse, crazy secrets, overwhelming impulses to draw, and "residual" ghost encounters, I was on the edge of mt seat and may have bitten all my nails off in my anxiety for the characters. The story was the perfect blend of horror, mystery, history, romance, danger, and just a smidgen of humor at times.

The story is predominantly narrated by Elizabeth, but occasionally Adam is given a voice. Elizabeth is a shy, quiet girl who gets thrown into a situation she can't even begin to understand, but through it, she learns about her own past, secrets kept from her, as well as what she wants to fight for. And then we have super dreamy, completely misunderstood Adam. He was more like an outcast in town, most people thinking the worst about him and he never attempted to change their opinions, but boy does he have a heart of gold and real hero complex hiding under his brooding outer shell. It was so interesting to see both characters become, hmm, let's call it "overcome" by the past of Josephine and Braden, no longer in control of themselves. The crossovers between the 1905 personalities and the modern characters were at times alarming and intriguing. Oh, and as a side note, I loved April and her quirkiness and willingness to believe and help Elizabeth in any way she needs.

I will mention that the ending for Tethered was even more shocking and earth-shattering than Intertwined's ending and I am so sad that I have to wait until sometime in 2018 to keep reading because I need more and I need it like 5 minutes ago! I had no idea how many books were going to be in this series, I guess I kind of assumed that there would just be 2 books, but there will be at least one more (maybe more...I have no idea, but to be honest I will probably read whatever Jenn wants to add to this Intertwined world...and whatever else she wants to write in general.) I feel like I am gushing, but it's true- I am total fan-girling over this series (but I also feel like my heart has been ripped out, I am so devastated over what happened last). I have not read anything like this before, and the twists and surprises kept me guessing right up to the end. I 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a new YA read full of creepy feels and some much needed love.
