Rate this book
Have you ever felt stuck in life? Or perhaps your life doesn’t look the way you thought it would right now; maybe that dream is just beyond your reach as the words Not Yet appear stuck on repeat. Are your fears, failures, and imperfections trying to define your future the longer you are “on hold”? In The Power of Not Yet, Donna Pisani focuses on four powerful principles that not only changed her life but have done the same for countless others as well. With each principle she dismantles the lies of fear, failure, and imperfection that keep your purpose and potential hidden while addressing how to live with confident boldness in the middle of your Not Yet Zone. Through personal stories, biblical insights, and research, Donna delivers the simple truth that you were created for greatness and that every part of your life—past or present—is an incubator to discovering how to live the life of endless possibility God has designed for you. You will • How to flip the light switch, expose the fears, and identify common lies you’ve been soothing for far too long. • The small steps that will significantly impact you in becoming smarter and stronger while you wait in the process. • How God has already written you win all over your story, and how to see it and say it while understanding God’s purpose is always bigger than what you can think or even imagine. • How to lead yourself well and discover the purpose God has placed in you, removing the confusion of knowing how to start. If you long to get moving, discover what God made possible in you, and be the world changer God's called you to be, this book is for you.

I loved this book, especially its conversational style. It was easy to read, confirming things that I knew but also brought a fresh perspective on the importance of how you respond to life's journey. The book reminds me of the importance of practicing nonresistance, of being patient in life and of being "a prisoner of Hope" as we are taught in Zechariah 9:12. How we handle the waiting time, between that time when we pray and when we experience the realization of what we prayed for, is critical. That waiting time may be a life time or may be a lot shorter. The thing is, trusting God, believing God and learning not to be anxious is so important. Also, learning to see yourself as God sees you, to remember God's promises to you, and to believe Mark 11:22-24, that is when you pray, expect and give thanks, even if you don't see the manifestation of what you hope for immediately, is alright. God has you in His Hands. His Promises are true. Have faith and trust. This book reminds me of all of those lessons and more. Readers who like Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Christine Caine, and Mark Batterson will want to add this book to their collection! I loved it!!!

Donna Pisani’s book The Power of Not Yet, delivers the important message that God’s “Not Yet” is by no means a “No.” Donna shows that the “Not Yet Zone” is a pause where patience and faith are perfected as we keep focused on the promises and nature of God. While in that “Not Yet Zone,” in the middle of our turnaround, I learned I am not just to wait for my breakthrough to manifest, but, like Gideon, to move forward in faith in the strength that I already have. I identify with this book because I had my own not yet experience when the voice of God spoke within me “You shall have it, but not now.”
The key thing in the book for me was the declaration that it is not too late for me, with God’s anointing, to accomplish everything that God has put into my heart. This book helps you to see the complete story God has written for your life and to take heart, in your Not Yet Zone, in the knowledge that God has ordained unlimited resources to be available to you to fulfill His purposes in your life.

Enlightening read

Ms. Pisani has written a wonderful book that was encouraging and empowering to me. I appreciate the fact that she used story to explain a lot of her points which made the book easier to get through. And the book manages to weave in many Bible quotes without sounding preachy or judgmental like many other books I could name. This was worth my time.

This book was very empowering and also filled with biblical truth. I happened to read this one at a perfect time in my life and there was a lot of wisdom that it imparted in me at the time. I really felt that there was a lot of ways that the enemy was trying to take a hold of me and this book shared with me some truths that I should not let that happen and that I AM in fact in control of whether or not I let myself believe the lies. Also I appreciated that it was very to the point but also very well organized into sections that built off of each other very well. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone in a waiting season. It wasn't exactly what I expected it to be, but it truly taught me so much and honestly was more than I was expecting.

The content was good but there were a lot of typos, misspellings, and missing words. A few in a book is understandable, but there were so many it was distracting.

God must have prompted me to select this book off my Kindle, because it spoke to my need in the midst of feeling stuck. Parented by a perfectionist, I learned to see things in a pass or fail mindset. In order to gain approval, “pass” (or perfection) was the only option. Later in life, I’ve found that I give up easily because if it’s not perfect, it’s not worth doing. It also means I’ve learned to seek approval, validation, and acceptance through my work. Donna Pisani explained the “not yet” mentality that replaces failure with persistence—Not Yet. That is, I haven’t failed; I just haven’t succeeded yet. She also explains how to see the “not yet” as a thing of merit on its own by changing our perception and goals during a “not yet” period. Waiting is more productive and comfortable when we see it as a growth period, which has value in itself.

If you’re feeling stuck or tired of asking God, “Are we there yet?” then you might benefit from reading, The Power of Not Yet.

So helpful

I do not wait well and come from a pretty rough background. Reading this has put things into perspective for me and gave me a ton to think about. I've already recommended this book to 5 people. I believe in these words and I believe putting this into practice will make those of us who don't wait well be able to have more patience in our not yet zone.

I'm so fine, but is another book with positive words, nothing new. Says something and you be good.

Good read

Enjoyed the author's take on finding out and taking ahold of God's purpose for your life. A quick read with declarations and a prayer at the end of each chapter.
