I am learning that when we start polluting it can cause climate change and even drastic hurricanes. If the Green Land ice caps melt half of Florida will be flooded. This makes me think about what is going if the ice caps fall off.

This is a comic book that with the main character that explains the green house effect, carbon dioxide, global changes, and looking into the future. I like this book for students that prefer graphic novels. It provides definitions through out the book and is very detailed about the various topics. I do like the writing prompts and discussion questions at the back of the book. There is an activity to do as well for some hands on ideas for students to further explore some of the topics in the story. I would definitely put this book in my library and use it as a way to pull students into a lesson.

Max Axiom does it again. Making a potentially confusing science lesson on The Green House Effect into one that makes sense for all! Done in graphic novel format to grab even the most reluctant book readers attention.

I learned so much about what can happen and is happening to the earth thanks to global warming--and the knowledge comes in graphic novel format: a fun and fast way to get some knowledge. Now, as an adult, I hope to read An Inconvenient Truth next!

The Max Axiom series is aimed at younger readers. This one provides a concise introduction to the theory and evidence for global warming, its possible long-term effects, and things we can do to reduce the release of carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere.
