Have you ever heard that age old saying, 'Dog is mans best friend'? Kay Oliver's debut novella is a whole new twist on that truism.
Mia is a veterinarian technician living out amongst the woods, miles from town. Her only neighbor has dementia and keeps breaking into her house. Her boyfriend is a total jerk who disappears daily. Mia is simply trying to live, completely oblivious or maybe just in denial of the danger she is in.
Dog owners know the loyalty of a good dog, and Mia is about to find out just how loyal a dog can be.
Kay Oliver lives in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah with her husband and their house full of rescued shelter animals. When she’s not brewing a bloodcurdling tale she loves to cuddle up in her reading nook at home and get lost in tales of horror, suspense, and mystery.
I can’t say I liked the characters but they were well developed. The story has an interesting plot, that has a steady rise in tension. I wish I had the talent to compact stories into novellas. I’ve never written anything under 70,009 words, just not in my wheelhouse. Kay Oliver demonstrates an amazing talent for writing. This is definitely a page turner.
