This took me no time at all to read thanks to their brevity. This is a collection of well written short stories that focus on a range of emotions. They focus on the ordinariness of people, relationships and other interactions. Beautifully presented. Thanks to the author for an ARC.

Another great collection of stories from this versatile author.

I really like how the tales relate to a variety of relationships and how this author explores the themes of love, infidelity, jealousy, depression, motherhood, guilt, friendships...and so much more - she has a wonderful understanding of the human condition. They may be short stories but not without a punch.

A heartfelt, thought provoking collection and certianly well written, as are all Maria Savva's works.

Highly recommended.

Maria Savva's new collection of short stories is a pleasure to read. She really has the knack of describing people in a way that makes you care and sympathize, even when the people are sometimes rather troubled and find themselves in complicated circumstances. There are glimpses of many characters and many lives in this collection: a horrible boss getting his comeuppance, a man trying to get out of stale relationship...and changing his mind...kind of, an innocent man in court, and many others. Each person and each tale coming to life in Maria Savva's gentle, but perceptive storyteller's eye.

My favourite short story in the collection was 'Boomerang'. This one really got under my skin with its single mother, pushed by exhaustion and regret to the point of doing something terrible. It's a tragic story, with a twist that kept twisting the knife just a little deeper as I read it. Another favourite is 'Left Unsaid', which takes a hard, and piercing look at several intertwining relationships between four characters. Recommended!

Lost and Found is Maria Savva's latest collection of short stories and it was certainly worth waiting for. As always, when reading collections by this author, I didn't want the stories to end - Maria Savva is a consummate story teller and I love her work. The mark of a good story teller in my opinion, is if, as a reader, I can identify with the characters. I experienced so many emotions when I read these well-written stories.

This selection encompasses many of the conditions that make us human: love, hate, jealousy, betrayal, compassion. All of the characters, even those playing minor roles, are finely drawn and believable.

I particularly enjoyed the first story, "A Different World" - a sensitive and compassionate snapshot of a trainee lawyer's life. "Boomerang" is a powerful story which looked at the difficulties of being a single mother, when contending with post natal depression. The return of the child's father appears to be a blessing......or is it? I laughed at the conclusions to both "Office Gossip" and "Birthday Boy"!

For those of you who enjoy short stories, or maybe haven't touched on this genre yet, I can thoroughly recommend "Lost and Found".

"Lost And Found" by Maria Savva
I really enjoyed these short, but complete stories. The reason why the book was written at this time. I'm glad they were found! From sweet stories that got my heart, to surprise ending that made me laugh. For a quick but fun read, you'll love this one. Well written, great characters.

Short stories and character sketches. It was good and I enjoyed the time to read it. As a test, I’m interested in her longer works now.

Maria Savva excels at characterization, getting to the heart of our connections to one another and all the tangled emotions that come with those relationships. These stories show a wide range of people and circumstances, but the quality the stories all share is the grit of humanity.

One thing I love about these stories, and the author's writing in general, is that the characters are mostly ordinary. They aren't horribly evil or excessively good. They are just people, like you and I, who sometimes do awful things and sometimes do wonderful things. We watch them struggle with guilt and longing and grief and jealousy. While we might not like the choices they make, we understand them, and we realize how easily these lives could be our lives.

This is a poignant and compelling collection of stories that feel a bit like we're that proverbial fly on the wall, watching the unfolding and unraveling of lives.

I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of short stories. What I most enjoy about this author’s writing is her wicked sense of justice and karma that is often a staple in many of her stories.

The slice-of-life stories in this book all ended in ways that spoke to me—some made me sad, some made me laugh, some made me shout “yes!” and others made me angry. But they all made me feel something, and that’s why I enjoyed them so much. I love seeing characters in awkward or difficult situations and trying to figure out how they’ll deal with their circumstances.

My favorite story was “Boomerang,” but I truly enjoyed them all.
