Yay happy dance time, I was so excited to read this book. I really loved the first book where we got to meet Tavora and Luke. In this book they come back together. Luke's wife passed in book one, and now it is a year later and he is finally free to give his heart to Tavora. I really enjoyed how this story line played out - the only thing that got me was the ending. They seemed to be heading in the opposite direction that where I wanted them to be, now I am on pins and needles waiting to see what happens next. This is such a sweet, emotion filled series. I enjoyed that this book had more side characters, Luce and Hank. They were in book one towards the end, but we get to see more of them in this book. They play a great role in the story line and are really supportive of Tavora.
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is second in the Five Series. Luke and Tavora meet again, only this time both are free to pursue a relationship. Luke is always the ultimate gentleman, but I felt that he was a little out of character with his kiss in the elevator at the library. He went from kiss to public indecency fairly quickly. The character of Luke, I felt, would have honored Tavora more by holding back, especially in public.
>These two characters try to do things correctly, but ultimately act according to their own free wills and not what they both know and admit is the right thing to do. God can handle our messes and will be a major hurdle and savior in Luke and Tavora's marriage. There is so much they didn't talk about, like where they will live. Tavora has never met Luke's son. Their lust for each other over powered their good sense.
>I know the journey will be difficult, but I hope Tavora and Luke get their HEA. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the story 4 stars.
This has been a very interesting series. The first book ended on a major cliffhanger and I was eager to see what was next for the couple. If you have not read the first book yet, please don't read on as there is a spoiler.
This series is about two people that meet unexpectedly and heal each other but in the process developed strong feelings for one another. The problem was that he was married and the feelings were inappropriate. She is a widow and still not healed from her loss but the relationship with him encourages her to let people into her life again.
He lost his wife and is now free to pursue a relationship with her but they still have significant differences that challenge their relationship. The biggest obstacle is his lack of faith in God and her strong religious beliefs. She is very involved in her church.
Differences in religious beliefs can definitely be a major issue for a couple. He no longer believes in God but he does try to honor her wishes. There is a real struggle for them in balancing their desires and her beliefs and I appreciated how realistically the author depicted those challenges. I often don't read books that are specifically Christian romances because they make the characters so pious that they don't seem real and relatable. The characters in this series struggle while still maintaining faith.

Five days by Cathy Jackson is the continuing story of Tavora Kar and Luke R'phael. So much has happened since they parted ways. Some good. Some bad. They find their way back to each other and it feels so right. Beliefs are tested and promises are made.
I couldn't wait for this book. I loved the first book and both characters. I was anxious to see what was in store for the two. Although the story was good, it lacked a bit of the magic from the first book. Tavora has grown a bit since the first book and it made me happy! I saw a different side of Luke with this book. All in all I did enjoy this story! I do enjoy Miss Jackson's writing and look forward to reading more from her. I give 4 stars
A pleasant tale of the early difficulties in a relationship where the parties are 'unequally yoked' (i.e. one is a Christian and the other is not), Five Days nevertheless did not, for me, live up to the great promise shown by the first book in the series, Five Coffees. For me, it lacked excitement; I felt the conflicts arising from the disparity between the faith of one and the unbelief of the other ought to have been raised earlier in the book and made more of a central theme.
This is a pleasant story. It's full of different kinds of emotions and feelings. This story continues with Tavora and Luke's journey. Will Tavora help Luke heal from the loss of his wife? Tavora and Luke's feelings and relationship is tested with their differences in their belief in God. Is love enough? Will this tear them apart? I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more. Received advance copy for honest review
Wow! This story was intense, real and amazing. I loved the conversations that the characters had with each other and I loved how the author addressed the so called "sticky issues" in a loving, honest, no holds barred and non-surgar coating way.
There is sex in this story and it is portrayed in a tasteful and beautiful way. Yes, some of the sex takes place outside of marriage, but if you are really paying attention you will see that the author does not condone it.
What happens when we decided to choose someone over God? What happens when you realize that there is a battle ahead for your marriages? Will Luke and Tavora be able to stand when the storm comes?
Cathy Jackson gives a glimpse as to what Luke and Tavora may have to endure. This is so much more than a love story, it is a life lesson.
First I just want to say every book I read by this Author is amazing. This book is well written. Tavora and Luke are my favorites. They remind me of my own marriage. Luke has a great heart. Tavora has a very good relationship with GOD. This book will pull at your heart. Give this book or Author a try.
I fell in love with Tavora and Luke's story in Five Coffees. I was excited to read the follow up in Five Days, however I have to admit after reading it, I had mixed feelings.
I was happy with Tavora and Luke being together again, and the challenges they would face. One of their biggest issues is their different opinions in faith. Tavora believes in God, while Luke doesn't. That's one of the focal points throughout the story is Luke learning to accept Tavora and her beliefs.
I liked Luke in the first book, but in this one, I found him too controlling. He immediately comes back and tells Tavora they're going to be together, then plans an elaborate wedding all within a week. Another thing I had trouble with was Luke getting Tavora to break the rules of her faith. That's one of the things I loved about Tavora was her good girl nature, yet it seemed like she was turning into someone else for the sake of Luke.
One of the biggest issues for the story was the pacing. I felt it moved too fast in having Tavora and Luke reunite, then elope. I would've preferred to see some development in their relationship. Have Luke come back and reconnect with Tavora, introduce her to his son, then let the relationship grow from there.
It has been a year since Tavora and Luke have seen each other . In that time Luke has been mourning his dead wife and Tavora has been getting on with hers. There is a draw that is pulling them together . He finally realizes that Tavora is the one woman for him and travels back to claim Tavvy . They meet back up and sparks fly , but will their love withstand the differences in their loves . Or will they be torn apart before their love has a chance to blossom into more .
I must say I fell in love part two of this story , I finished off book one and was so chomping at the bit to get to book two. So when it came out I jumped out at it . I started reading in the afternoon and Tavvy and Luke sucked me in from the very first page . Their love story isn't going to be an easy story, they come from totally different backgrounds, Tavora is a born again Christian who has ties to her church and her close friends . Luke has lapsed and hasn't been to church since he was a child . He doesn't really believe in God. He doesn't understand the way that Tavvy is with the church, he has to come to terms with his love for Tavvy and his unease with the church. You can see him trying to be what Tavvy wants but you see him struggling at times. We see him being so vulnerable and a little scared . He doesn't want to loose his life with Tavvy but he doesn't know what to do .
Tavora has actually grown stronger in this book , we see become more involved and happy , but there is still the ache of lost love . She becomes such a great lady standing up and becoming more and more happy . When together with Luke she is getting stronger and stronger but they also are having their problems . She will be a great girl friend to have, to hang out with and help with your problems .
I was sucked in on the very first page , the story is compelling and will keep you reading . There is sex in this book which the author wrote very tastefully and not too graphically that might turn some people off . The story is complex and you will be thinking about it after you are finished . You will want to cheer for Tavvy and Luke and you will also kind of want to slap Luke upside the head a few times. You will laugh and shed a tear or twenty I know I did . So trust me when I say this have a box of Kleenex and a bar of chocolate on hand . You will need them both , the Kleenex to dry your tears and the chocolate to soothe your aching heart . I so can't wait for book 3, I need to know if they will live happily ever after.
I will be the first to admit that the Five series is much different than what we as the reader came to expect with the Bloom series. Ms. Jackson has stepped the game up, with this series and the cast of characters that takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster of faith, acceptance, trust and love. Just remember reader, these are about humans, imperfect people, and please keep reading because there is going to be a moral lesson, and I see rejoicing down the line in the next book or two.
Two people, with two different backgrounds, one a born-again Christian, who strongly believes and trusts in God, and one who has had minimal church interaction only as a child, takes God as a myth and fantasy. From their meeting a year before, they had developed a friendship and bond, but it stayed platonic, and they have had no further interaction. Now a year later, both are widowed, and the feelings are still there, maybe stronger, but where and what will it lead to is the question. Luke knows he must go back to see Tavora and find out if these feelings are still present and can they have a future.
The plot kept me captivated as this story continues to unfold, with passion and emotions, it isn’t just emotional, it turns physical, and they do make it right with marriage. Tavora’s faith in God will not be swayed, and she tells Luke that God will be first even in marriage, which he doesn’t understand, but says he will accept. The dialog is raw, open, honest and heartwarming at times and painful at others. I look forward to continuing on this journey with Tavora and Luke as they face hardships and trying times in their marriage. I believe that God is working through the Holy Spirit in Luke, but it is going to take time. There is a reason in the Bible it warns about being unequally yoked. “God brought you to me when you needed to know me. Just like I needed to know you. He knew we would need each other. You are my miracle. Do you believe in miracles?”
Designation: Book 2 in a multi-book series, ends on HFN.
This is the second book I have read by Cathy Jackson – the first being Five Coffees which is book 1 in this series.
So we pick up where book 1 left off. Tavora and Luke realize they can be together, but with different beliefs in God will they find they are not right for each other. I loved the first half and how they connected, but then it became too slow after he left to film the movie. I also can’t understand how two people who live in different countries get married and don’t even discuss where to live. Especially when he is a dad….wouldn’t they need to figure that out. Also it was a bit much with the “my husband”, “my wife”, “my Tavora” when they were addressing each other. It was distracting for me. I avoid historical type books for this reason, the dialogue seems foreign to me and it distracts from my enjoyment of the story. It really lost me with the whole belief in God thing. I guess that is one of those issues that seem to be necessary to be on the same page before committing to marriage and it didn’t ring true for me. Overall I really struggled to get into this book. I really prefer something with more twists and turns.
*REVIEW STARS* Hero: Luke 4 stars – a movie star who is recently lost his wife to illness. Heroine: Tavora 3 stars – a widow who’s existence revolves around church and reading the entire library. Steam Level:2 stars Plot: 3 stars Overall: 3 stars Cliffhanger: no
I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Five Days is the second book in the Five Series. The first book, Five Coffees, did end with a huge cliffhanger so I have been anxiously awaiting this second book. It’s been a year since Torva and Luke last saw each other and a lot has changed in that time. Will they be able to overcome their difference in their beliefs? Is love truly enough?
After reading Five Coffees, I felt like Torva and Luke were meant to be together. The first part of the book was perfection for them; they had chemistry and everything seemed to be working. Then their difference of religious beliefs got in the way, would they be able to survive this? I was surprised that it took so long for this subject to come up. I fell in love with both Torva and Luke in the first book. Torva has grown a lot and we see a different side of Luke. I like that he is so carefree and spontaneous in this book. I also liked the secondary characters, Lucy and Hank. They befriended Torva and where there for her when she needed them. I look forward to learning more about this characters in future books.
I really enjoyed this book, it had a real feel to it. I liked that Luke wasn’t perfect it added some spice to the story. This story also had a nice lesson about staying true to yourself and your beliefs. I love Ms. Jackson’s writing and highly recommend this series. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.
Five Days is the second book in this series. The book is very interesting and is quite a bevy of emotions. I am struggling on if I like this series. It is a bit similar to the Bloom series. Cathy has done a great job in writing the book however personally I struggle with Luke R'phael. I think it's because he is such a bold in your face character and takes control of Tavora's life. With Cathy being a Christian author I found it difficult to understand why she would have such a person in her book. He is a dominating character that I don't like in a Christian setting. I know that Cathy has developed him as part of that story and he has reasons for being part of Tavora's life. Only Cathy knows the outcome and I look forward to seeing where she goes with this character. I respect Cathys choices in her characters and know there is a reason and possibly a lesson behind this. We will find out in the future books.
This is the 2nd book in the series and I loved it just as much as the 1st one. Luke and Tavora are back again and you do not want to miss the continuation of their story. They come across some obstacles in their whirlwind courtship, namely Luke doesn't believe in Tavora's God. Tavora has some excellent friends and they try as hard as they can to make Luke understand how important her God is to her and all of her friends. They believe God is the most important person in their lives, even before their spouses. Will Luke accept Tavora putting "her" God ahead of him? Cathy Jackson does it again. Love it comes to the sex aspect of the story it's tastefully done. 5- character development 5- storyline 5- inspirational

This book is amazing!! What the author does with her words is great! Luke is back and he and Tavora can finally be together. But Luke doesn't believe in Tavora's God and her friends try to make him understand. No matter how much they love each other will they make it with him not believing?
In this story the author brings sex into the story but she does it in a way that readers who don't like much in their books will be able to accept. Her words work so that the readers imagination just goes with it, that's how amazing she wrote those scenes. I'm just loving this series so far and how once again the author is telling a love story that can be taken from real life.
I received a copy of this book exchange for an honest review. This is a continue story about Tavora and Luke how their relationship will different and not easy but will be worth it at the end. It won't be an easy love story but a wonderful love story how they became who they are and fight for what they wanted. A happiness ending not always meant to be easy but a strong bond takes hard work and commitment to be there for one another. Can't wait to for the next book in this series. Love all the characters and the flow of the story.
Tavora lost her husband and child and has fallen in love with Luke, but he is still married. His wife dies and leaves him a single father. The two finally unite and sparks fly between the two. She has strong religious beliefs, but Luke doesn't. She sometimes wants to follow her faith but she strays when it comes to Luke. I was confused a little with being faithful to God and then not following rules. She doesn't like being touched unless it is Luke. The story didn't really follow a path and it left me confused in the end.
Five Days continues where Five Coffees leaves off. Tavora and Luke get together in this book and their relationship develops. Cathy Jackson does a wonderful job writing their story. I was entranced from the moment I started reading. I cannot wait for the next book in the series to see how their relationship continues to grow and develop, to see how they handle the difficulties in their relationship. This is a definite must read.
Another epic conclusion for Luke and Tavora. By the end of Five Coffees I feared that T & L wouldn't see each other again. I feared their love would never begin, would never be experienced, would never move forward. As much as I'm saddened for poor Mara, the Tavora and Luke unify their love in more than one way and relit my fire lol
