I bought this book as a part of 3 book set.

This book was a mixed bag for me.

I really liked the introduction and beginning meditation section. Then, the book got a little too Pollyanna in that it made it seem (while at the same time denying,) that doing advanced mindfulness exercises would become easy. The exercise where you practiced mindfulness upon wake-up, along with the set hour and minutes really seemed unreachable for me. I would be lucky to get the basic technique down (which seemed much more approachable.)

However, read past those mindful exercises and there were some very good nuggets of mindfulness tips. I enjoyed that section. There were ups in there (about wake-up, communication, and exercise,) that really made sense to me. Those tips were approachable and anyone can benefit from them.

So, 2 out of 3 isn’t that bad. Mindfulness has always had this “out there, unattainable by the masses” feel to me. With this book, while there is a section like that in here, for the most part it is full of some very easy to do techniques.
