The Wrong Gun

Rate this book
Irreverent attorney/trouble-shooter Steve Winslow, who won kudos and fans in four previous courtroom dramas, returns here to find himself on the wrong side of the courtroom equation. In his most challenging case, Winslow's new client is Russ Timberlaine, a six-six giant that dresses in cowboy gear and looks as if he could singlehandedly arrest a stampede. A wealthy gun collector, Timberlaine brings Winslow a replica of an old-west revolver that person unknown has substituted for the real McCoy in his collection, afraid that the thief plans to frame him using the original weapon. Before Winslow can find the culprit, a man is murdered at Timberlaine's mansion and the original revolver is, indeed, the "smoking gun." Winslow goes to court as Timberlaine's defense counsel, only to find himself up against a D.A. determined to prove that Timberlaine committed the murder - with Winslow as his accomplice ....

this is the series about the lawyer who won a big case and doesnt really need to work

he got a client who brought him a gun that was swapped in his collection. he thinks someone is goign to kill someone and frame him

the book got very confusing to me cause i coudlnt follow all of the guns and substitute guns, but i know other people reading it could follow it better than i did

he was very nice in that during the trial when he found out he was going to win, he let the prosecution know so he didnt look foolish when it came out

turned out the butler did do it, not to kill someone but to steal the expensive guns and replace them with fakes. he just killed someone to cover up, tho if he didnt do that he probably would have gotten away with it as no one suspected him-well at least i didnt

i love the stanly hastings series better but it was still good
