"A fun-filled romp through heaven, hell, and everything in between!" "Over the top in all the right ways." Deckland Cain was one of the greatest Demon Hunters who ever lived. Then, in a moment of desperation, he sold his soul to one. His life's been going to Hell ever since. Broke, desperate, and probably drunk, Deckland owes half a million bucks to his former mob boss employer, Balthazar Reznik. After a creature kidnaps Balthazar's daughter, he calls in the debt. Deckland is told to find Balthazar’s daughter, the Hellion who took her, and the Warlock who summoned it up from the Hell. Do that, and the debt between them is settled. Things are never that easy when you are dealing with the forces of Heaven and Hell. As it turns out, Deckland may just be the world’s only hope for survival. God help us all.
I found this book to be a wonderful entertaining read. It just draws you into the story. The characters are entertaining and the storyline is well thought out. Well done to the author you have a new fan.
A good rollicking start to what appears to be a fun and engaging ongoing storyline. A cross between Jim Butcher's Dresden series and Seth Skorkowsky's Valducan series.
I'd have given this book 4 stars, but there were quite a few editing problems (grammar and spelling) that annoyed me. Other than that issue, you'd probably enjoy this if you give it a chance.
Complex story with some great character building. The banter is fun and the fighting bloody. Demons, sorcerers, witches, oh my. Deckland Cain is an enjoyable read with all sorts of twists and turns. He sold his soul to gain the ability to nullify all magic but it does not make life simple, making a deal with a demon never is and all things have a price. Something, its not just your soul.
This was a really good read. Brutal and bloody but well-written and worthy of a sequel. There were some minor editorial goofs that could stand to be cleaned up but not bad overall. I'm in for the next book!
Good story line, MC is likable enough, the tough guy stuff at the beginning was a bit over the top, but I guess you have to set the tone, nope, still over the top. I will read the next book though.
