Rate this book
Lola Westlock is obsessed with sexy, kilt-wearing Scotsmen. In her imagination, these ruggedly-handsome heroes always take center stage and play prominent roles in all of her romantic fantasies. When a real-life highlander shows up at her favorite candy store, she wonders if her daydreaming has gotten way out of hand. But soon a cold dose of reality tells her she is wide awake.

Nigel Lachlan has made a long trip to the United States in hopes of fetching himself a bride. His becoming Laird of Lachlan Castle hinges on him bringing home an American wife. Within a few moments of his arrival, he encounters a cute, curvy, caution-to-the-wind spitfire who takes his breath and tents his kilt. Unfortunately, the licorice-loving lass who has quickly caught his eye isn’t the woman he crossed the ocean for.

Can a promise etched in stone be broken in order for true love to be realized? Or, are Nigel and Lola destined to be brokenhearted for all eternity?

Licorice Lass is part of the Plus Size Romance Series. Each book is a standalone with no overlapping characters, storylines or cliffhangers. This series is a perfect combination of romance, steamy love scenes and humor. The stories are sensual and romantic, uplifting and lighthearted. Feel-good reads that leave you feeling great!

Lilting Dialogue, Artfully Paced and Cleverly Written

I love a heartwarming story any day, or night, of the week. And did I say, it also has an honor-bound, kilt-wearing hero centerstage? Well, no matter, you would have fallen in love with this card carrying Scottish Laird, Nigel, soon enough. So, the story is a contemporary, fun, wittily written comedy about Nigel and Lola meeting in a candy shop. I am not one to give plot bunnies out, so suffice it to say, Nigel was not in SOuth Carolina to meet Lola but another woman he had been courting online.
The writing is catchy, witty, believable and ...normal. I love how strangers talk to one another when there is magnetic attraction in the air and they would surely prefer doing something other than talking to one another right from the get-go. The story is beautifully crafted and also quite believable.
If you enjoy lilting dialogue, artfully paced and cleverly written behind a thoroughly believable story line you will adore, and two characters who you are convinced destiny has thrown together, you will love this story. I did and I give it 5 bloomin' stars and highly recommend you read it. Lynn Cooper will quickly become one of your favorite authors.

LOL I can't believe I am still reading this series. Out of all the books I've read (so far) this one is the most far fetched I have read BY FAR. We've got a beautiful plus size woman who is obsessed with Scottish dudes (I mean, who isn't?!) and then out of nowhere a hot Scottish dude appears and instantly falls in love with her????? I mean, WHAT?!

And then, here's the kicker. The hot Scottish dude is here to marry some chick he met on the interwebz, so he can take her to his castle. The woman he is marrying? HER BEST FRIEND. Gasp! Drama! Also, no one is this obsessed with eating licorice. And no one is that fucking specific about how the licorice looks. I mean, it has to be in a Celtic knot so you can eat it? Get the fuck out!

Licorice Lass was a fun, steamy quick read! It's all about Scotland in this book and for some reason the lead male reminded me of Gerard Butler (my fave Scotsman). Which was awesome because it made it all the more easier to fall in love with him just like the female protagonist Lola did. Lynn Cooper writes in a way many of us girls think and she captures exactly what females would WANT happen to them if a romantic opportunity arose. The Plus Size Romance Series is cherished by me because it shows that you don't have to be stick thin to fall in love. I read this book in one sitting and I eagerly await another installment!

Highland Hallmark

You know there's going to be a HEA. But there are some twists in this romantic novella which made for an entertaining plot. Writing was good which made for a quick, smooth read but found explicit scenes unsatisfying, almost forced.

This was cute and sad at times. I love Scottish lads...who doesnt? I think its the dialog that gets a lot of us. Ha. Kilts are hot too! He comes to town to fetch a woman he's been talking to on the internet. Mail order bride sorta. However, before he meets her he catches a glimpse of Lola. She's sassy and a spitfire and they are both hot for each other. She works for her father a big publisher and he refuses to publish her romance stories. She's got a bit resentment she's dealing with then after sharing one hot kiss with the Laird and is humiliated because she learns of his intended and she feels foolish. They do succumb and she finds out who is intended is and she is horrified! Yes, you gotta read it! Do they get their HEA or are they doomed and walk away?

Good snack !!!

Good lunch time read. If you are looking for a light, fun and sexy book then you will love Lachlan and Lola's story. Lola, an aspiring romance writer meets Lachlan, a sexy highland laird and sparks and bullets fly. I wish there was a little more character development but, it is a very short story. Good story but, not great due to the length.
