Sometimes we just need a little encouragement. Other times, a good laugh can turn the entire day around. Then there are times when a personal insight reminds us that there is more to life than schedules, laundry, and yet another trip to the grocery store. More than 60 straight- to- the- heart messages from the Time Out for Women team of speakers help make the connection between where we are and where we want to be. Included are selections by Mary Ellen Edmunds, Ardeth Kapp, Emily Watts, Hilary Weeks, and Virginia Pearce. This inspirational collection captures the warmth and wisdom of your favorite LDS speakers and authors.

This book was ok. I struggled with it at times because I wasn't in the right mindset. I was actually a little disappointed because I thought I'd get more out of it than I did. I would say if I compared it to the Chicken Book for the Soul books that I enjoy those books better than this book. Here's my pros and cons of the book.
Pros: -Very fast read. -Each story is no more than 3-4 pages.
Cons: -You definitely have to be in the mindset to read this book. If you're mind is wandering or you're tired, not a good book to read. -For me, not as inspiring as going to a Time Out for Women event, and not as humorous, and that's why I thought it would be a fabulous book!
I've had this for almost two years. Shhh, don't tell my mom who bought it for me! However, I'd have to say that, on a personal level, it did me more good lately than it would have done two years ago. I loved that there were several different authors. I loved that they weren't lengthy chapters, but also not one-paragraph devotional thoughts. Almost all chapters had something that resonated with me in my life right now. I'm sure that many people would be able to find several things, too. I give this five-stars mainly for personal reasons, but it's still a great book!
After reading a long book, its hard for me to jump into another one because I am still attached to the previous book and characters. I like to savour. So, to keep myself continually reading, I pick up something light and inspiring. Deseret came out with a book called Time Out for Women Live, Love and Learn. Its filled with devotional messages for women by various authors and artists and their positive out look on life. One of my favorite messages is a metaphor written by Virgina Hinckley Pearce. Allowing a time for Change.
This book has short, inspirational messages from men and women. I really enjoyed it and wrote down some thoughts in my journal from the book. For example, Merrilee Boyack talked about having gratitude for small things throughout the day. She said she was grateful for microwaves, curling irons, use of her legs, etc., just several things that we often take for granted. I thought that was an especially good reminder.
This book was good. It was very easy to read, because every thought was only 2 - 3 short pages. But I was probably only THRILLED with maybe ten of the ones I read. You know, where I thought I could use it in a talk or lesson some day. But it was an easy read, and like I said, I really liked a few of their thoughts!
I really liked this book -- each chapter was just a few pages, easy and quick to read. Wonderful messages that I could easily relate to. I found myself stopping to read a chapter, then "just one more" throughout the day. Good gift book!
Some great ideas and insights. Each one very short and sweet so quick reads. Great for taking along when you know you'll be waiting somewhere. In the future, I know I'll go back and read some again. Thanks Mary!
I love time out for women and I don't get to go this year. I thought this little book would give me the inspiration I needed even though it is not the real thing. I loved the spirit of this book. I would recommned it to anyone who is feeling stressed out.
This was various inspirational talks put together in a book. I think it's a good thing for LDS women but it didn't get me excited like most LDS books do. It was good just not sensational.
A compliation from the "best of" speakers at the Time out For Women Conferences over the past few years. This is a easy to ready chapter at a time, for a daily lift!
Devotional messages for woman. I love this little book because it gives you short stories that you could use in lessons, family home evening, or for talks.
Our Relief Society is doing this as a pass around book (4 copies circulating among the sisters). I enjoyed all the short essays. Some funny, some inspirational. A lift-your-spirits kind of book.
Wonderful little messages. I think the messages will have different impact as you go through different stages of life or trials. Some really stood out to me and some just flew right by. Nice read.
