The Empire is faced with a war that could signal its fall, and Adrian is the only thing standing between his people and two empires set on pushing their own interests. The only chance he has of stopping the war that the Empire can't win, is to change the mind of his prisoner - Dai Sha Anessa.
Onslaught is book 6 in the Rise of the Empire series, an epic story that follows humanity as it grows from a single world to ultimately becoming a galaxy wide empire.
Ivan Kal writes science fiction and fantasy, and is the author of the space opera series Rise of the Empire. For most of his life he had been studying in the fields of electronics, IT, and web design. But because of his great love for books and his need to tell stories, he decided to start writing. His other interests include martial arts, movies and tv, and gaming.
He makes the characters come to life in my mind I can see the protagonists I can imagine the different aliens I see how he doesn't stick with just one set of characters his books are inclusive and understandable the tech isn't confusing the battles aren't just someone with bigger guns they are thought out great job sir
Quick paced, action packed, dramatic scenes, Devious plotters, breathtaking adventure.Excellent development Of characters. Classic struggle of good and evil natures In the heart of all of us.
Just finished book six, enjoying the whole series immensely, but they tend to Finnish at inconvenient moments,my fault I suppose for not putting them down. So doing your book so I get book seven!!!!
Once again, the author surprises me in his ability to come up with new and great ways to tell a stor
I'm an avid reader of science fiction and fantasy. When you intermix the two, even a little. It's even more fun. This does just a bit of that and the story weaving was superb. If you started off at this book, definitely go back and read the first one. The universe is set in have different races that are also written about in other books, which makes it an even more enjoyable bit of knowledge. Knowing that when I hit the end of this series there are other books I can pick up and start to read about their storylines and how they fit into this. Kudos to the author. Well done
This one picked up very nicely off the last book. Tone and tempo have really come a long way and now these are very enjoyable to read. The next few books will be fun with the new enemies and new allies. Ready for the boom....
I literally wasn’t willing to put this book down until I finished it, at approximately 0555 the next morning. My only regret is that I don’t have time to keep reading. Gotta sleep at some point.
Forging alliances and enemies alike, the empire and Adrian are going through the wringer. Best part about reading a finished series is that I can grab the next one now.
Once again the human fleets are way too big for the population and the technological progress even through cheating seems utterly absurd. The book had a lot of boring parts i skimmed over. The battle against the sha dain(?) seemed contrived and a huge waste of ressources..
The Shara Daim have overwhelming military power and are sending all of it to crush the fledgling human Empire. The humans have deployed everything: stealth, diplomacy, misdirection, philosophy, ideology, paper bags over heads, even sex.
Earth still smolders years after the atrocity that rendered it lifeless, this is where a poignant line in the stars will be drawn. OK there is a book seven so you know someone is going to survive, but still it looks pretty Kobayashi Maru.
Another great one. Every book just gets better. Great action, pacing, as well as character evolution. I very much doubt I will be able to hold out before starting the next one.
"Onslaught," is the final nail in the coffin of the "Rise of Empire," series. The sixth eBook clearly and demonstratively shows the writing failures of the author, Mr. Kal in both execution and concept.
A mediocre storyline has attempted to overachieve through six (6) eBooks: multiple narratives, plots revolve around a central core of a cultist, somewhat fascist, group of Earth humans, who discovered an ancient alien spaceship beneath an ocean, and leveraged the obtained technology to start a galactic empire, in a new stellar neighborhood.
The parallels with, and influences of, Eurocentric socialism, specifically Germany, c. 1930's through present day (including the EU), is disturbing. The thinly veiled veneer of progressive meritocracy, cannot hide the underlying philosophy. Mr. Kal, the author, has written a tome to a Fourth Reich, in the guise of a SciFi series.
Additionally, the writing is poor, incompetent, lifeless, and without intellect. The most cursory reading, shows broken syntax, improper grammar, missing and/or wrong words, redundant passages, conflicting datelines, and many other defects. Among the author's favorite words or phrases: "...obviously...," "...of course...," and "...had had [sic]...." The most egregious is the use of "...but...." The word appears so frequently, it has become a comma or period to the author. Mr. Kal is without any writing skill. The listing of an editor/proofreader on the copyright page, amounts to a fraudulent fiction. The cold and perverse acceptance of killing and death, of genetic manipulation to achieve racial superiority, governmental reproduction control and productivity guidelines, by the one dimensional characters is beyond off putting. The characters are reminiscent of the Germans interviewed at the end of WW II-silent enablers of horror.
This is the last eBooks of Mr. Kal, I will suffer to read. The eBook was fully read via Kindle Unlimited and is not recommended.
I think this is my favorite one yet. The worst thing I can think of for this book is that it makes me want the next one even more.. Everything is set up for the next few books and I look forward to where this is heading.
Fluid storyline, a logical continuation of the previous book, great action and even a bit of love story, ends with a cliffhanger that I hope will be answered as soon as possible. A joy to read!
Pleasantly surprised to see the next in the series. I really enjoyed it. The series has a lot of expansion available to it with a far distant enemy lingerie g in the background. I look forward to the next.thx
