I'm on a mission to get an artifact that can cure disease. I'm good at what I do, and I work by myself. I don't need a man.To survive, I switched places with a stranger on a starship. I didn't know where it was going, and I didn't care. She never told me she was a TerraMates bride. When I arrived, a sexy ex-military man was waiting for me, expecting marriage.I don't need a man, but I want this one. This story takes place in the TerraMates universe, but can be read as a standalone novel.
Ven and Emmy. I listened to this on audio and the readers, Joe Hempel and Samantha Leatherwood, were pretty good. This reads like pulpfiction. Very cheesy, occasionally annoying, repetitive, unbelievable and vaguely entertaining without truly gaining your attention. This author is terrible at writing aliens and I really think her work should always be labeled fantasy. Ven is the alien who could easily be mistaken for the guy next door. He's about as alien as apple pie. Emmy is the spunky heroine who isn't his normal choice for women but he's in a tight spot. Emmy buys the place of Ven's chosen mail order bride, in order to escape some bad guys. It's the last day to fulfill the marriage clause on Ven's inheritance and so he marries Emmy despite her not being his choice. He doesn't normally like smart women, or curvy women or women who speak their mind. Pretty shallow huh?? But he grows and I did like his character. Emmy is an archaeologist in the "Raiders of the Lost Arc" style, aka a looter with highfalutin ideals. She's on the trail of a mythical ladle that can heal all ailments. There's a ridiculous baddy on her trail with thick skulled minions. The action and plot were VERY predictable, so I must admit I listened with only half an ear. It was entertaining, but a little too heavy on the action for me, which as I said, was obvious. I did like that the romance wasn't instant. Neither was wowed by the other. Both characters were interesting. It was just the plot that was annoying.
For being a military alien, Ven has a very low self esteem. It seemed like he got easily intimidated over women who had anything more than him. Emmy was very focused on her work and wanted nothing more. I liked the story line of this one and it was definitely different from most of the other TerraMates so far.
it was pretty curious and interesting, I always wabted to be an archeologist myself, loved tge lots of misunderstandings at the beginning. the end was a happy one I like those. and damn ben was something else, emi was super cool and independent loved her.
Emmy is a futuristic Lara Croft. With her mentor, they go searching for mysterious artefacts. But when he goes missing Emmy is left holding the key to their newest obsession, a possible instrument to cure all ailments. But when she is followed by the goons of another tomb raider, she swaps places with a TerraMates bride to be.
Ven is a former soldier. He has now inherited a lot of money but there is a clause in the will and he finds himself in need of a bride. He picks his ideal bride from Terra Mates. But the person who arrives is Emmy and he is left in a bit of a quandary...does he marry her and protect her and his fortune or does he send her packing?
Ven was very low in self esteem and did not come over as the strong soldier he should have been. Emmy was so laser focused on her project that she tried to deny the sparks between her and Ven and doesn't even think to ask him for help, even when they strike a deal to help each othero ut!
But apart from that it was a highly enjoyable read, as the rest of this series is.
Ok, this one was a little different, the heroine is not a desperate woman complete without money, but she happens to get married because she is desperate for some other things… The chemistry between them develops gradually and interestingly, although here too the male character is a great soldier who is actually totally clumsy! But sexy :) But there is a lot of action reminiscent of Lara Craft, so the book is very interesting because of that. Perhaps the books are even a little too short for the world to evolve to the point where a reader can tracked everything and get a build up. And since women usually end up on different sides of the galaxy, there is no connection other than the Earth, but that shows the great imagination of the author! Mostly another very interesting book for entertainment and HEA!
So, I just finished reading this Terramates book and have to say I quite enjoyed the story. I absolutely love love love a story with a strong female characters who doesn't need to be saved or rescued. Emmy is definitely a woman who needs no rescuing! I would have liked to know more about Ven and his back story though. We find out that he's only been in love once, but nothing beyond she broke his heart. There were some other things that happened and weren't explained very well...kinda made me think parts were for some reason edited out. I don't know. All in all it is a great story with a new twist on the Terramates theme of two people turning to a mail order bride service - each for their own reason. Plus, you can never go wrong with an Indiana Jones type of story!
This story is the "TerraMates" story-line I love. You have an Alien(Ven) needing to marry to keep his inheritance so he turns to a mail-order bride. Ven gets his bride but it's not the one he picked. Needing to make a fast get-away, Emmy talks a woman into selling her shuttle ticket. Will Ven be able to keep his inheritance and the life he's grown accustomed to? When Emmy's troubles catch up with her will Ven help or is she on her own?
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Indiana Jones anybody? Seriously. Complete with a ladle (cup) that cures you when you drink from it and a giant rock that will crush you as it rolls along. Lets not forget about having to swap out the ladle with something of equal weight and also the floor that crumbles if you don't spell the word right (though in this case its the Fibonacci numbers). And the MC is afraid of the creepy crawlies! Not at all what I was expecting when reading an interterrestrial romance.
Wow this book has sexiness with an adventure. She marries him for convenience but will love blossom. Then they set off to find the treasure of life. Abel captures them and she has a huge surprise too. It action packed story that you can’t put the book down. Great read. I was given this book as an arc for a honest review.
I didn't read the last few pages, I would give it zero stars. I didn't like it. Indiana Jones girl meets rich alien military male, and go treasure hunting for a ladle. Fast paced and shallow, I would go as far as say s***id. Super smart woman who is also a virgin and needs to read up on how things go between a man and a woman but she is super fit and super smart, PhD level.
The storyline sounded promising, like an Indiana jones type book but ended up being really predictable and kinda boring. The second half of the book was another series I didn't want to read.
Fast-paced, Indiana Jones type adventurous romance. The banter between Emmy and Ven was easy and the story flowed well. The dual POV from Joe Hempel and Samantha Leatherwood made the audiobook fin to listen to.
Not bad but theses really don't strike me as romance. Its more of an action story where the MC have sex then later they are madly in love. Will probably check out more of the series but not at this time.
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
It was a great read. An archeologist is searching for an artifact. Sound familiar ? The book was fast paced + of course, booby traps were involved. Come w/ Emmy on an adventure to uncover an artifact that is supposed to cure all diseases. Let's not forget Ven. Her husband + partner in crime. You will not be disappointed!
Title: Irresistible Series: A TerraMates Novel Mail Order Bride Destination: Book 9, 249 Pages, StandAlone Author: Lisa Lace Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Genre: #SciFi #Aliens My Score: #5stars ☆☆☆☆☆
♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡ OMG just another fast pace, action, adventure book from Ms. Lisa the imagination this women has has made TerraMates a phenomenal series. Again this book is a little different, well your just going to have find out for yourself, it may have twists and turns, you'll love it, Believe Me, don't pass it up, this is a MUST READ Book, Series. You definitely will be missing out if you don't read it. Ven received his inheritance early in life, consequently he played and played hard whatever it was at the time. When this started to be nonessential in his life he enlist the to fight and conquer other planets rising high in the ranks. It was challenging and thrilling than realized he didn’t to be part of it anymore. Retiring was the best thing, but that got boring. Geeeeeeee could it get any worse, his lawyer informed him all was gone to charity should he not marry by his 30th birthday. His only choice now was TerraMates. Emmy is running if they catch her she's dead, she knows it. Being a strong, intelligent archaeologist she had no choice but to take someone's place on the spaceship not caring who or why she needed a seat, than upon landing, Emmy sees this unbelievably handsome adonis, Yep she needed him.. But could she marry him. I was gifted this book for an honest and truthful review.
Emmy is an archeologist in search of a treasure. She is trying to escape the men sent to find her. She talks her way onto a shuttle leaving the planet, little does she know she is headed to much more than an archeological treasure.
Ven is a retired soldier, with more money then he could ever spend. The life of luxury was relaxing at first but now it's tedious. He decides on a mail order bride for companionship and to keep his fortune. When he goes to retrieve his bride he meets a woman the opposite of what he expects.
What an exciting adventure in the style of Indiana Jones but modernized and taken up a notch. This book was so much fun to read. You get an archeological adventure, with an aliens, future style tech, and a sensual and steamy romance. Emmy is a curvy, strong female lead who is intelligent, thinks on her feet, and thirsts for adventure. Ven is a sexy, alien warrior who is clever and resourceful. The story doesn't have a wasted moment, I couldn't put it down. I kept saying, I'm just going to finish this page.....no just this chapter....and I just had to finish the whole thing. It's a wonderful edge of your seat adventure that I would highly recommend. And there is also a complete other story as a bonus at the end.
This is the 9th book in this series from Lisa and each one is Getting better and better. This one is about Emmy and Ven. Emmy is a archeologists who is running for her life She is trying to talk a mail order bride into giving her the ticket she has for the spacecraft Emmy offer a lot of money foe the ticket . In the mean time Van is in the need of a wife to keep his inheritance from his uncle or it will go to charity. So he order a bride through TerraMates. When he went to pick up his bride from the space station she did not look anything like what he ordered. This is how Emmy and Ven gigot together. Will Emmy go through with the marriage to help Ven . This is a book that is going to grab you from the start to the story to the last page. Like any of Lisa's books it has all the right ingredients for a fantastic tail. Be prepared to want to find the rest of this series. Received this book for an honest review.
This story beautifully blends archaeology, adventure and sexy hot tension. Seeking a Holy Grail type of ladle, Emmy finds herself in a desperate situation that she makes unknowingly worse when she buys a ticket from a stranger at the space station. Emmy boards the space craft only to realize that she is still being hunted and hides behind the luggage on a ship bond to who knows where. Her adventure takes a new turn when she finally lands only to discover that her ticket was meant for a mail-order bride for Ven. He is a wealthy retired soldier bored with life but he discovers he will lose his inheritance if he does not marry and quick. Bring in TerraMates and the identity switch Emmy accidentally makes. When he sees that the person on the space ship is not his bride but a stranger he does not give Emmy away but is dragged in to her quest for the ladle and running from those who would like it for their own use. This is a sexy, hot read that keeps you on your toes!!!
Bored, what’s a retired military man suppose to do? Plenty of money and any woman I want but still I am bored. Never ask a happily married man what to do to alleviate boredom…he will recommend finding a wife.
I am not your average treasure hunter in fact what I do is locate hard to find artifacts to be put on display for the whole word to enjoy. It is about the search and discovery for me.
The story has a nice pace in that the author keeps the story moving in a forward and easy to read manner. The characters are engaging and yet they are not sugary sweet to each other. Insecurities abound between the two of them. Both will have to recognize the strengths the other has and in order to survive the test of the ancients.
The book was provided from the author for an honest review.
I received this book in exchange for a fair review.
This is the ninth book in the TerraMate series, It deals Emmy who is searching for a Ladle with healing potential of great worth. But as most stories go, there is also a bad guy looking for it, Abel. So in order to get away from him, she changes places with Montana, a tall slender blonde with all the blonde attributes. Well, she was the intended blonde bimbo/eye candy for Ven's arm. Ven being a bored retired military man with time on his hands. Let just say the wedding night did not go as planned and Ven ended up chasing his runaway bride.
Which lead to Ven's searching for the magical healing soup spoon.
Great story, a lot of action, worth reading, I enjoyed it .

He signs up for a Terramates mailorder bride who happens to be the female who's place Emmy took on the starship. This novel is fast paced, action packed, and adventurous. The main character is a strong complex female. The storyline will keep you caltivated from the start. I was given a free copy in exchange for a honest review.

Emmy is on a mission to get an artifact that could cure any one or thing. But a very rich and evil man is out to get the artifact too but he wants it for himself only. When she finds herself trapped she switchs places with another women to get off earth. One problem the other women is an a TerraMates Bride and her husband to be is waiting on her. Expecting to get married so he can save his uncle's inheritance. He is a bit of a playboy but has the training she is going to need. Now the 2 are on an adventure of a lifetime So much fun to read. Fast paced, action packed and great adventure. I think this might have been my favourite one yet.
Irresistible is part of the Terramates series where wealthy Aliens acquire earthly wives. Usually it is because of necessity rather than a desire to get married. This book is no different. The thing that is great about this plot is the suspense. There is action, desire, lust, betrayal and most definitely marriage. Due to content this book is meant for readers over 18.
