Fazit:

Well this book was something...
I really did not realise what type of series this might have been :/
I'm honestly trying to get through it butttt I liked that little drugged
move at the end of it which brought it a bit back and kept it interesting.

This manga is absolutely absurd. And I could go ON AND ON about how problematic it is. However, I enjoyed it.

So 3 stars.

Not my favorite. Honestly everything so far has been so jumbled and has also been happening so fast that I don't even know how we got there. If you like drama, theirs lots in this!

Synopsis:

As a budding poet and lyricist, Aine is on her way to an audition one fateful afternoon. Absentmindedly stepping into the street, she barely avoids getting struck by an oncoming vehicle. Not only is the cute teenager lucky to be alive, but her brush with death turns out to be a date with destiny. The driver of the car just happens to be Sakuya, the charismatic and fabulously handsome lead singer for a band called Lucifer. In short order, Sakuya and his crew compose a song using Aine's lyrics. The tune proves popular with the band's fans and Sakuya decides he wants a relationship, both professional and personal, with Aine. There's only one small requirement: The lyrics Aine writes must be erotically charged. And guess what? Sakuya fully intends to introduce the young and inexperienced girl into the world of sensual delights. Does Sakuya actually care for Aine, or is she just another sexual conquest for him? Will Aine fulfill her dreams and become a professional lyricist, or has she simply sold her soul to Lucifer?

My Thoughts:

In this volume, we find out the origin of Sakuya's blue eyes and a little bit about how sad his childhood was. We also meet his half-brother. That man is awful. I hate him. There's nothing redeemable about him. He just keeps escalating all because he wants to keep his power. As if Sakuya would want anything from that family, anyway!

We actually get a love confession right at the very beginning of this volume as it picks up right where volume 1 leaves off. Aine and Sakuya fall pretty hard and fast for each other, but they still have a long, hard road to walk what with Sakuya being a big name rockstar and Aine is the band's secret lyricist. Things get difficult for them when Ralph decides he wants to steal Aine away from Sakuya and he does whatever he can to get her away from him as well as away from Lucifer. Really, the guy is just a dick.

Meanwhile, Aine and Sakuya do end up deepening their relationship. They are pretty sweet and cute together. Not to mention hot. I love it when they're all over each other. I just hate that people keep trying to use them against each other.

Be strong, Aine!

BOO! Stupid Ralph, I hate him. I'm not going to lie, he's pretty hot, but the guy has some serious issues. He's obsessed with some crazy scheme to bring Sakuya and Lucifer's downfall. Whenever Ralph showed up, I wanted to punch someone. He's the typical smarmy half-brother that appears in many mangas. We learned his reasons for being such a slimeball, but I still thought he took things a bit far. It was messed up that he , but I thought him was even worse. I couldn't believe that that scene actually happened. I finished this volume and was like, 'Really?! It's going to end after showing something like that?'. To make things short, Ralph is a terrible human being and he needs to get over his vendetta towards Sakuya.

Aine and Sakuya have lots of chemistry and it's nice to see a hero that is a protective nice guy, without being boring and bland. Sakuya gets a bit jealous, but he never veers into abusive boyfriend territory. Overall, there's just a good balance with his character. He's a bit of a horn-dog, but he also can be sweet and caring.

Love this manga so far and I hoped it doesn't go downhill. It would suck for me to be sucked in and then I had to suffer through 18 volumes of this series. Also, this is kind of random, but why is one of the bandmembers of Lucifer named Santa? I thought that was really strange. There was one scene where fans were talking about which member they perferred and one girl was like, 'Ohh, I'd want to get in bed with Santa', which creeped me out a bit.

I've owned these books for a while but recently re-read them. I have to say, this is one series that completely took me by surprise. I'd seen it on the shelves but dismissed them unfairly. The following review is for the entire series.

I love the artwork and story in this series. I especially love how the actual pairing off happened so quickly in relation to other series, which I like. (It's one of the reasons I loved Kare Kano as much as I did.) There's the typical "I luff them but someone is fighting me for them" stuff, but it's relatively well done considering that it's such a tried and true trope. You can actually see why people might fight over our two main characters.

As the title suggests, there is some sexual content in here and if you don't want to see manga boobs you'd best prepare yourself to see them. The content gets more graphic in the last volume, but generally sticks to hints, glimpses, and talk up until volume 17.

This is a pretty entertaining series and it's what made me really love Shinjo as a mangaka. (Although I wish her publishers gave her all the respect she deserves!)

This second volume continues the saga of Aine and Sakuya's budding romance and we follow the lucky lyricist and her luscious lead singer through their latest trials and tribulations, this time around involving Sakuya's American half brother, Ralph Grazer.

It never fails to amaze me how everyone in these types of stories always falls for the lead heroine, no matter how weak and lame she may be. Aine is not special and author/manga-ka Mayu Shinjo hasn't succeeded to me in bringing her uniqueness to the fore, so I am not especially rooting for her, and cannot understand why all the males anywhere near Aine fall for her charms, because I do not see them. At least the male falling for her this time around also has another reason for diabolically involving himself in her life, and that makes the plot advance more believably. I'll check in with volume three next.

I call it Kaikan Phrase, but that is because I speak Japanese. I loved this series, I thought that idea of falling in love with a rock star was epic, it made me want to write dirty songs and find a justin timberlake. I have to say his blue eyes was cool, I knew he had Caucasian in him because of that, not because Japanese people can't have blue eyes naturally, they can my friend does, but because that seemed like a logical twist. I didn't like his brother though but his first idea on how to snag Aine was a good one. This series will keep you on your toes, I wish I could learn the art of surprise from this author for my book series, Arched Wing.

Another wonderful series by Mayu Shinjo!! Sakuya and Aine are absolutely one of my favorite ships and this series is not as smutty/ sex based so far as many of the others written. However, Aine's naiveness is really frustrating (I don't know how one could be so naive at that age. I was never that gullible even when I was a child to foolishly believe people the way she does), but Sakuya is a pretty devoted bf/lover. He doesn't hesitate to turn the tables if anybody tries to screw with him and his girl, let alone the band.

I actually like this series which is surprising (the whole rockstar image doesn't interest me in the slightest). it is receiving 3 stars from me because even though this manga is what im currently reading, it doesn't really differ from any of the other shojo type books I've read. but as they say, good things come to those who wait, so maybe it will get better and i'll become accustomed to it.

This novel is the big build of to when Anie finally losses her virginity, and I have to say the big moment is not as good as I remember. I really hate Sakuya half brother Ralph, and find his character to unbelievable, and remember being really happy when he was no longer apart of the series.

LOL. Reminds me of the time when Bieber fans send death threats to Selena.

The story is so predictable and just bad in general. Okay, that is the end of this manga for me.
