I have been looking into intermittent fasting for awhile now. I really learned a lot by reading this book and I feel better equipped to move forward from my research stage to actually putting it into practice. I like the format of this book, it was easy to read and seemed to address all of my questions I’ve had about IF. Emily Moore did an excellent job of presenting the information In an easy to process and professional manner. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is in the research stage or on the fence about trying intermittent fasting. IF is not just for weight loss, though that is often a happy coincidence but it’s a wonderful tool to improve gut health and digestion!
Very factual book on fasting. Plans are well thought out and very well done. All of the suggestions for meals are great. Maybe more time to the daily fast, which has worked for me, going from 265 -200 lbs. in a matter of a couple of years. It has taken some time and the goal is 180, so we continue to strive for that. A good, short primer of how it is done...some of the professionals, like Dr. Fung, for all the details. Thanks, Emily for your kind words and good information.
This book has a lot of good information about different types of intermittent fasting, although some of it is redundant. Just in case you need to refresh your memory they do provide links to information in previous chapters when only brief information is given in chapters about each type of IF. I like that the book has links to helpful information and youtube videos but some of the videos I skipped because of excessive cursing and F bombs before anything useful was even said. I still plan to keep this book on my kindle for reference.
If you’ve ever thought about intermittent fasting you need this book. Packed full of information to help you get started, it breaks down several common approaches to help you discover the right path for you. It is full of straight forward info that is easy to read and understand. Highly recommend.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was overweight and tried other ways to lose weight. Intermediate fasting was the best way to loose stubborn fat. This book showed me the best way to accomplish this and start a new lifestyle.
Intermittent Fasting: Built To Fast. Your True Intermittent Fasting Guide by Emily Moore was a book that I never thought I would find myself reading, but decided to pick it up to help me lose the excess baby weight after my pregnancy. I have never personally tried fasting and I thought it would be an interesting thing to try. I definitely needed to find out the pros and cons before beginning.
This title was formatted primarily in lists. These lists consisted of anything from types of fasting diets to meal planning for each type. This made the book quite a quick read. I also felt as though I was reading a textbook, but the information was not contained within the book, but instead outsourced to videos and links. This is best read on a Kindle or computer so the links can be followed to get the most out of the book. I personally would have liked more of the information within the book. I felt as though there was not much information in the book. I guess this could be contributed to the fact that a person looking to do a fasting diet plan should do as much research as possible before beginning.
I also noticed there were quite a few spelling errors throughout the book. I do look for these so they do pop out at me. They were not major errors, but the occasional missing letter or maybe a wrong word here and there.
Overall, I thought the book was okay. I would definitely need to do more research before ever trying this for myself, but I am glad I was able to read a little bit about the whole idea.
I don't expect a lot from a 155 pages $1 book, but this would be an embarrassment even if it was a blog post. It's full of misspellings and just feels like the author as thrown together her notes on the topic without reviewing the final result even once.
Most of the book seems to be bullet lists and excerpts from the web, links to videos on Youtube and links to scientific studies that are behind paywalls. Don't get me wrong, I do value an on-point excerpt of a complicated study with a reference to the original material. The ever-present "This study [link] shows" used in this book however is a bit poor.
