I was born and raised in the greater metro-Atlanta area, where I live with my husband, dog, and cat.
I graduated from Mercer University in Macon, GA (class of 2008) with a dual BA in English and German, as well as a certificate in secondary English/Language Arts.
After teaching middle and high school for three years, I ran away screaming.
I now write character-driven, multi-genre novels (and work a dayjob). My specialty is thrillers, but I also write romance under the name Anna Lilian Wade.
My primary goal is to make your heart beat faster.
This was very short but completely engaging the whole time. The story starts with Thatch as a young boy, living with his mother and his Uncle Jed. Right away we are introduced to the dark side of Thatch's world and the terror his mother and him feel with his uncle Jed everyday. An abuser not only to Thatch but to his mother also. The story takes us into the world of Thatch and you can't help but want to comfort this boy as you watch the horrific life he lives. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger but I didn't mind much because I know the author will continue the story. Great, quick read.
Many prequels and sequels come from authors trying to milk a few more words from one good idea. The latest from Jette Harris (Phoenix Rising: Flint Ranch) is a novella that kicks the gate open on page one and will not relinquish the reader's attention until the fateful conclusion on Page 69. The book gives insight into the larger story that follows as well as being a great stand-alone tale. So grab that mouse and hit 'one-click buy:' Harris's latest book is one you won't want to miss.
This first volume of the Phoenix Rising series, Flint Ranch, takes you on a journey of the early life of the infamous serial killer The Phoenix before he was The Phoenix. The characters and situations are very real and very raw. I couldn't put this riveting novella down until I finished. If you're a fan of thrillers or Jette's book COLOSSUS, then you must read this! I am excited for more Phoenix Rising books in the future.
This is a must read for lovers of psychological horror. Go deep inside the childhood of a killer. This book will disturb. Highly recommend if that’s your cup of tea.
