What happens?
Angel is asked by another alpha to help find out who is a traitor in his pack. Still reeling from his mate rejecting any chance of being with him he doesn't expect to find her in the pack.
Still believeing the lies she told him he is unwilling to let her go and decides to fight for her rather than let her push him away.
Chloe still believes she made the right decision pushing her mate away, even though she now has his child she doesn't want to become like her mother, becoming suffocated by her mate and eventually ending her life from it. How ever much Angel tells her he isn't going to do that she struggles to trust him and repair the scars she has.
Final thoughts
In terms of excuses of why she couldn't be with him I thought it was pretty flimsy. I still enjoyed the romance and the side plot was nice but not as good as the first book in this series.

Second chance shifter Romance
I really enjoyed Angels story. The author made all the alphas show up in each other story and he grabbed my attention in book 1. Angel had a rough growing up and when he meets Chloe his true mate after sleeping together one time he marks her but doesn't claim her. Chloe having issues from the past involving her mother runs from Angel. Angels devastated he goes to help out her pack(his assignment) and finds Chloe but believing the lie she told when she ran he's still pissed and hurt. Angle discovers the truth and his little girl. He fights for them and i love how the author made him an alpha male but loves his mate enough to let her lead. This book has an hea as does all the others. This is not a short story so be prepared to stay up all night until you finish it LOL

The story overall was ok. I did not like the heroine Chloe. Spoiler read on at your own risk. She was strong physically but weak emotionally. It was unforgivable that not only did she not give her mate a chance because of her insecurities but to run off and have a child and not tell Angel/Gabriel that he was a father was full out wrong. She didn’t even understand the full story that stemmed her insecurities. I could continue to rant and rave about this but will stop before i talk myself into giving this a lower rating.

Good improvement from the first book
Good plot line, not over done. Nice twist and turns. Not too obvious but not off the wall.
More emotions felt from the main characters interactions than in the first of the series. Characters built well.
No plot holes or random side characters.
Still in first person perspective, but better at giving a wider view of the world.

Angle and Chole's story was unique and heartfelt. Even though it was a quick read, I didn't have the ending figured out or even the middle for that matter. I enjoyed it and like how the series continued.

Poignant, passionate story of pack politics and listening to fate!!
We meet Angel, a member of the Freelance Undercover Resolutions division of Sunclaw – better known as F.U.R. He meets with Alpha David who tells him his Beta was murdered two nights ago, and a land development company was offering for their land, and just tripled their offer. The F.U.R. rep did not belong to or answer to a pack/alpha, and liked it that way. Alpha David wants Angel to protect his daughter, a lieutenant in the pack, and find the traitor in his inner circle. No one is to know who he really is, and why he is there.
The whole pack house vibe is making him squirmy – he lived in 11 different pack houses growing up, and learned not to bother unpacking anymore. He was never asked to stay. Heading to the pack bar to start work, he sees a group that is obviously the lieutenants of the Moonridge pack. I loved Gabriel's (undercover name is Angel), character. He was a strong, fierce, alpha, who was brought down by the love of his life rejecting him and running away. It affected him for years, until he meets her again. Gabriel works for an undercover shifter investigation company. He is brought in by Chloe's father, the alpha of her pack, to find out who was targeting the pack, and killed the previous omega. Unbeknownst to her father, Chloe and Gabriel had met briefly five years ago, but that was all it took for them to realize they were fated mates. Even though Chloe is strong physically, and is a lieutenant in her pack, emotionally she is weak and scared, so she lies to Gabriel and runs away back to her pack. When they meet years later, their love is just as strong, but Gabriel must overcome Chloe's lies and her fears. At times I wanted to shake Chloe and tell her to quit being a wus and believe in their love. As the story progresses, you learn what caused her fears, and I could understand, but she was still letting her fears rule her. There were twists to the story, and secrets Chloe had kep from Gabriel and her pack. What Chloe had believed for years was not accurate, and all of their lives are in danger from someone, who won't stop at murder, and is trying to force the pack to sell their land.

Angel and Chloe have a hidden past. Chloe took off five years ago and denied his claim as her mate. Since then, he has spent his time with more women than he can recall. Now he is in her pack and asking questions. The feelings haunt them both but both fear acting on their desire.
I really enjoyed the story. I had read another book in the series but it is a standalone so you don't have to in order to understand the story.
Angel is the new name he picked after his mate denied him. He has avoided all women that remind of her but everyone else is game. It doesn't make him feel good. He now has an assignment that brings him to his lost mate.
Chloe is trying to protect herself by denying the mate bond. She wants to be more than a wife and mother and fears someone as powerful as Angel won't allow her freedom. She has worked hard to be a Sentinel for the pack and gain respect.
There is danger for the pack and Angel and Chloe will have to work together to save her father and the rest from those that have already killed to protect their interests.
These two have great chemistry and it is fun and exciting to watch them fight it so hard. They have a real hard time honestly communicating. Once he uncovers some of her secrets, they really face some hard issues.

I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I have read it twice in the 3 or 4 days that I have had it. Angel/Gabriel is a womanizer, but as you read the story, you understand why this has happened. He is assigned a job to infiltrate a pack to find the traitor who killed the beta wolf and finds that Chloe who is his mate and who ran from him five years ago is the daughter of the pack's alpha. This is a big shock for Chloe. And then he finds out that he has a daughter. More shocks for him. Then the traitor tries to kill Chloe's dad and they really need to find out who it is. They find the traitors and the two men are executed. Chloe finally tells Angel why she ran away from him; because of what she read in her mother's journals after her mother committed suicide. But she did not realize that her mom was sick until her father explains.
Now Gabriel and Chloe can finally become true mates and live together as a family with their daughter. If you enjoy some hot sexy scenes, some action and some misunderstandings and finally a happy ending, then this is definitely the book for you. I received this book for free as an ARC for an honest review.

If you enjoy some hot sexy scenes, some action and some misunderstandings and finally a happy ending, then this is definitely the book for you. Five years has gone by since Gabriel (Angel) found his mate and her her leave him behind without an explanation....other than she said she had a mate and child. (Freelance Undercover Resolutions) to find out who killed his pack Beta. "Angel" is there undercover, and the Alpha doesn't want anyone in the pack to know why he's there, not even his own daughter....who just happens to be the mate that ran out on Gabriel five years ago.....and who happens to have a secret Gabriel doesn't know about.

well worth reading
A good story that kept my interest right till the end. Loved the pack politics.
I would have just liked to know more about the land deal, why did they want the land? We never found out what was so special about the pack land.
Poor Gabriel (Angel), he has had it so tough. First his mother ruining his childhood then Chloe doing what she did to him, just so cruel. He thought he just wasn’t good enough.
Can’t say I liked Chloe very much as it was Chloe’s behaviour that turned him feral and into the man whore of the group because he just didn’t see any future for himself.
What a pity Chloe wasted so many years over something that would have been explained if she had just spoken to her father. She hurt both Gabriel and Maisie by denying them each other. But how would she have contacted Gabriel anyway?
Luckily it will be much better from now on for him.
Maisie was a cutie.

Angel and Chloe story was good. After being put on an assignment in a pack to find out who killed the beta Angel though he left his past behind him. But he was wrong 5 years ago the girl he claimed as his mate was standing with her back towards him. Chole kept her secrets hidden for reason that she didn't want to end up like her mother. But the biggest secret was yet to be told to Angel. After realizing Chloe lied about being mated he knew he couldn't let her go. He had to spend as much time with her as possible. After making a plan with the alpha to draw out the killer Angel realized what Chloe biggest secret was and he was not happy about it. He had a daughter he never knew about because Chloe wanted to keep her safe. After opening up to one another Angel vowed not to let he go again he wanted to be in his daughter life no matter what. They finally drawled out the killer and Chloe realize she wanted Angel and was not going to run this time. .

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review
This book was great! I loved Angel from book one and really wanted to know more about him, of course we knew he was an Alpha (because each member of F.U.R is) but wow his story really is sad. Angel is the way he is not only because of his childhood but because his fated mate ran from him. He has tried to forget her with many many women as long as they didn't have read hair he would bed them.
Chloe has worked for 5 years to become a lieutenant for her pack she is the only woman that holds this job and is ridden for it, it does not help she is the Alphas daughter.
When Angel sees Chloe on his next assignment his world is rocked. This is a must read, full of intrigue, secrets and a wonderful surprise I LOVED it
