I was given Big Miracles over a year ago as a present. I immediately liked the title and have just been carrying it around in my car, even holding it during the more challenging times in my life to remind myself that even in courtrooms and hospitals that big miracles are possible. Recently while recovering from a spring cold, I felt like inviting more of the miraculous into my life, so I bought the kindle edition also. Author Joanna Garzilli begins with words of wisdom, “You are far more than your mind and your body. You are first and foremost a spiritual being: a mind and a body animated by spirit.”
In the book, Garzilli reminds us that if we want miracles, then work is required. She suggests beginning with four sensible steps: watch, listen, feel, and know. These are things any of us can do; they simply require practice. The author is careful to point out that we have a variety of expressions and not all of them pretty, also each of us has a special talent. The question is, can we get out of our own way so that what is unique about us can reveal and express itself? Can we dismiss our inner critic, let go of our addictions, our stories of pain and suffering, and invite in our spiritual guidance? It’s a big question!
What Garzilli is offering the reader is a 12-step process to become a miracle worker. Goodness knows we need more miracle workers in our present age. Big Miracles is a book you want to keep close by at all times. It is a good book to give to family, friends, and those you see struggling. Good things come to people who work steadily toward their dreams and believe that anything is possible. And yes, I do believe in miracles, even BIG miracles.

About two years ago I was working as a publicist and leaving the offices of a women's publication in NYC after taking a client there to meet with editors. They were moving offices and had a pile of books on the table that they weren't going to bring with them. They said I could take whichever books I wanted, I picked up Big Miracles. At the time, I was deeply unhappy in my life and career, and felt stuck and unsure what to do next. Over the next few months as I read through the book, I became more and more clear that I needed a drastic change. in January 2019 I quit my job and moved back to Ohio completely unsure of what I would do next. I did know one thing - whatever I did next I wanted to be aligned with my passion for protecting the environment and our planet's future.

Fast forward to today and I am working as a brand consultant for businesses and organizations focused on climate solutions, and in my spare time I write for magazines and my own blog about living an eco-conscious lifestyle. I feel fulfilled and excited by my work and was feeling ready to stretch myself even further when I picked up your book to re-read a couple weeks ago. Just last week, I landed a dream client and will likely be relocating to live and work in Bali in a few months. It is truly the life of my wildest dreams.

4.5 I loved every minute of it! Told the truth about just because it's a goal doesn't mean it's in alignment with your soul. Intentions are everything! If your goals has ill intent the feeling you wish to have once achieved will leave you empty! Getting into true alignment with yourself will also allow you to get into alignment with your soul, source, spirit, universe whatever your philosophy! Loved it!

I could not finish this book. She overuses the word Spirit...and Spirit, to me, would be God. But the Spirit she is referring to feels like some sort of Genie that if you rub the lamp the right way, all your dreams will come true. There are some good basic meditations in here that are fine, but her references made me very uncomfortable.

Enjoyed the book only disappointing thing is it is not offered as an audio book on amazon. Please do that.
