As with all books in this series, another outstanding commentary. Something especially nice about the books that deal with shorter NT letters is that more exposition (verse by verse) can be done within the confines of about three hundred pages (the three letters covered only comprise twelve chapters of the Bible). The indexes of Pastoral Topics and Sidebars are nice additions, as is the Suggested Resources.

While some of the books have discussion guides available online (https://www.catholiccommentaryonsacre...), unfortunately this volume does not. The entire series would have benefited from including a guide, or at least questions, in the books themselves.

This is the sixth book I have read in the series. It opens up the scriptures for a deeper understanding, similar to the other books in the series. As one of the newer volumes, it includes references to Pope Francis in the commentary.

Both James and 1 John call us to live in greater faith and holiness and are relevant today as they were tot he early church to which they were sent.

Love the series and highly recommend. This book didn't go as deep into some of the Letters as some of the other entries in the series, but still is a good introduction.
