Double Take publishing is doing a new line of comics based entirely within the universe of The Night of the Living Dead, and this was the first volume I read of the series.

Overall, it's okay. I assume this is just the first volume and they plan on continuing each of the series beyond 5 issues, because there wasn't much to his as a "complete" story. That being said, it is still interesting. The art isn't bad. The story was a little confusing, but I'm planning on reading the other volumes to see if anything is cleared up there.

This particular volume focuses on a hospital in Pennsylvania and what happens there during the initial zombie outbreak. As expected, there are zombies. We get hints at the cause of the outbreak which were never full explained in the original movie, but there's also a weird subplot that I can't quite figure out that seems to be dealing with aliens and/or superpowered beings, but it's really only touched upon so I can't even make a guess.

Overall, intriguing, and probably worth at least checking out if you're a die hard NOTLD fan.
