After reading Devilish Intentions which I really enjoyed, I thought I would check out another book by this author.

Whilst I enjoyed Jake and Charlie's story it did not do it for me like Camedon and Eden's story.

This story is still worth a read.

Good Story-Faulty editing!! This was an interesting read, with likable main characters. Charlene (Charlie) & Jacob were both emotionally damaged by their love ones’ betrayal and infidelity. There was a great cast of good guys, and of course there were those pesky villains too.

While the prologue was suspenseful, I feel that the beginning of the book was bogged down by insignificant minutiae concerning Charlie’s decision to get her own place in order to give her cousin & fiancé their privacy. The book didn’t really pick up until midway through the story; however, I did enjoy the way the author let the suspense unfold slowly. One thing about the book that annoyed me was Jacob's tendency to GROWL. I am certain that a perusal of a thesaurus or an online search will reveal myriad synonyms for sounds men make under most circumstances.

The ending was satisfying to some degree, and I definitely want to read the sequel, “Chasing Desires,” which will hopefully tie up some of the loose ends left dangling in this book. Also, for those with inquiring minds, most of the sex scenes depicted were explicit.

This book had some serious editing problems, and although I’ve seen worse, I was quite perturbed. I hope the author will be more cognizant of any editing problems that crop up.

I enjoyed Jake and Charlie's story, but I have to agree, this book had serious editing issues. Too much minute details and it got bogged down in the unnecessary details at times. But, overall, it is a good story. I liked the suspense and build up to what happens in the investigation Jake is working on that Charlie inadvertently ends up getting mixed up in because it deals with her employer and his business. Lots of explicit love scenes and we get a taste of the build up of the budding relationship between Lorenzo (Charlie's boss) and Agent Chase Johnson, who was undercover and working with Jake on this case which will be the main story in the next installment.

This was a great story! Jake has his "Heart" Charlie now in his life and fell in love with her just like his cousin, Tony fell in love with Charlie's cousin in the previous story. This is a great trilogy so far and now reading the third book that features nightclub owner, Lorenzo and government agent, Chase. Good stories!

Oooh

I am so glad Chase and Lorenzo's story is next....having said that Jake the Bear and Charlie Heart are dynamo together...I really enjoyed their story...lots of hot gooey nasty sex...the storyline has a little danger, a little espionage...possible mob Involvement even though I think it's gonna be more exposed in Lorenzo and Chase saga..happy reading!

Sex Desiring a Plot

The Prologue was the best thing about this book. More time was needed to develop a plot. This book contained the typical minutiae found in a lot of interracial books: heroine running from the hero, erotic sex, her instability to resist him, more erotic sex, an unplanned pregnancy, etc.

Charlie because of a broken heart wasn't interested in Jake, for about a minute. He too suffered a broken heart and didn't intend to fall in love. First time they met, it is instant lust. She just couldn't resist him and he knew it. If course they had sex and more sex until they realized it was love. There was a little backstory for her but practically none for him.

The book has editing problems. Brandon called Charlie to tell her that Korrie, her cousin, was in the hospital. He introduced himself as Korries's friend. Later in the book, it was as if all three grew up together. At one point when Charlie and Jake started to have sex and he reached for a condom, she told him that they didn't need it. Sometime later in the book, they're both horrified to discover they had forgotten to use a condom. Why were all the black woman petite in stature but curvy? All the men were practically giants, no matter the race - black, white or other.

The Epilogue was simply an introduction for another book leaving plenty of loose ends.

Matters of the "Heart

After appearing in their respective cousins'book I couldn't wait to see how Jake and Charlie's story would unfold. Much like her cousin Korri, Charlie wasn't quick to re-enter the world of dating. However, Jake was determined. What they both have in common is past hurt from the previous relationships. I did wonder what happened to some characters, but it didn't really distract from the overall story. Jake & Charlie were a good pair for each other. I am not usually big on nicknames. However, this time I didn't mind them. Another good story in the series. On to Lorenzo & Chase.

Enjoyable suspenseful read

Both protagonists,Charlie and Jake, were briefly introduced to the reader near the end of the first book in the series in which we followed the blossoming relationship between Korrine, Charlie 's cousin and Tony, Jake's cousin. This book now shows how Charlie and Jake's relationship develops but not only that, Charlie had a new job - working as an accountant - What could be dangerous or.worrying about that? It might be if it's mob money. Read the book and find out if Charlie has bitten off more than she can chew. A great read!

Bear and Charlie

When the story starts Bear and Charlie are already acquainted and dancing around a possible relationship. They both carry the baggage from prior relationships but are willing to put in the work in order to be together. They get caught up in a money laundering scheme from Charlie’s job that Bear is investigating.
This scheme sets up the couple for the next book in the series... Chase and Lorenzo. I like how the books connect people from prior and future stories. This story was just middling....easy enough to read but not inspired or memorable.

I think because I read the books out of order it may have made me a little disinterested in the book. But this book starts and has the same story pattern as Devilish intentions. I also get so annoyed with the cat and mouse game with these women. They are interested in the guy, they also know the guy is interested in them yet the heroine goes out on a date with someone else. Like how does that make sense? I stopped reading to avoid reading anymore of this foolishness.

Charlie and Bear💗👏👏👏

Heart's Desire is Charlie and Jake's story. There were no games played. Jake let Charlie know that she was it for him. Their chemistry is fierce! Characters from previous books along with Bear and Charlie made this story rock... Next up, Chase and Lorenzo... Chasing Desires...Awesome job Kasey 😊

So sad to see them go

This was a great book! Jake and Charlie’s chemistry was mind blowing! They heat of the pages of this book! I enjoyed reading about them. I wasn’t all that surprised Jan turned out to be one of the bad guys of the book. I’m glad her and Justin got dealt with! That ending tho! Poor Lorenzo

Love Jake's persistence, determination and dedication, it's a lifestyle. I like Charlie, she's smart and tough (most times), I think Charlie is intimidated by her overwhelming attraction to this irresistibly charming bear of a man. Their chemistry is well developed and written😁 and I was again captivated by that as well as their precarious predicament, couldn't put it down.

I enjoy the way the author tells a story. Her writing style makes the storyline flow easily, and the characters are relatable and easy to love if you're supposed to love them and hate them if you're supposed to hate them. Can't wait to read more.
