AJ grew up in Perth, Western Australia. She is the third of six children and her first exposure to romance was her parents. Now married for almost 55 years, they have always been her example when working on her own marriage and parenting skills.
Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters and Georgette Heyer, were the writers she grew to love in adolescence and still loves now. Her list of favorite authors now has grown to include, not only historical but also contemporary authors as well. Sadly, she doesn’t have as much time to indulge in novels as much as she would like. Her family and now writing her own novels, keeps her very busy, but you will always find a book on her nightstand.
Other hobbies include cooking, one her favorite television shows is The Next Iron Chef on Food Network, and traveling, the UK and the Caribbean her favorite places to visit.
She and her husband of 28 years, reside on the west coast of the USA and have two grown children, making them empty-nesters, and recently adopted a rescued puppy, Max, from the local humane society.

Are you looking for an intriguing standalone? This 5 star adventure is definitely the choice if you are. It is one of those that I would suggest to any reader.
I loved the way genre borders were crossed. This allowing a better chance to reach other readers. It isn't simply labeled a specific genre. The plot stretches and encompasses a vast array of subject style.
Must start with the amazing and well written storyline. Such fun entertaining storytelling. I was engrossed after word one. A very quick read and easily holds attention . I was hanging on to every word desperately needing to know what would happen next. I loved the suspense and mystery elements.
Talk about loving roles and characters. Each one was written to perfection. The connection was almost automatic. I was so attached to the romance while bewildered by the paranormal aspect. I couldn't believe how much I was cheering for both worldly and unworldly events. I definitely have a new Book Boyfriend.( his identity will surprise you)
Excellent job with descriptive wording and details. I really enjoyed the included background information.
I would highly recommend to anyone. Excellent read!!!!! ANDREAGAH

Another fantastic job AJ. I love all of AJ books. She is one of those authors I don’t even bother reading the synopsis; I just read the book. Elizabeth Williams has hit quite the rough patch. She came down with flu like symptoms that won’t go away and had to take a bunch of time off from work, which caused her to lose her job and eventually her apartment. She has packed up all her possessions in her car and begins to drive until she needs to use the restroom. She had no clue that her whole life would change with this one decision. Elizabeth finds herself in a small coastal town, Port Lincoln and in the hospital. This could be the best thing for her or just another bump of the crappy high way she has been on. She finds herself with two men suddenly interested in her, the handsome E.R. doctor Ethan James who saves her more than once and Captain Andrew Wentworth. I absolutely love how this whole story wraps up. Elizabeth has always wanted a family and she may just find that is this small costal town. She didn’t have the best childhood and was forced to grow up faster than she should have had to. Dr. Ethan James has never had feelings for one of his patients before but there is just something about Elizabeth. Captain Andrew Wentworth took me completely by surprise and I love him so much. All three of these characters intertwine for a fantastic story. I couldn’t put this book down once I started. This story is romantic, surprising, and has a bit of mystery. I must say I love the part Captain Wentworth plays in this book. I am so happy for Elizabeth and the changes that occur for her during this book. Ethan is a great romantic guy and just what Elizabeth needs. I highly recommend this book. I can’t say enough about it or AJ.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

AJ Harmon has done it again... She opened up a whole new world to me, and sucked me right in. This was a one sitting read, beautifully written and with such strong characters. I would expect no less from this author, and look forward to many more books from her. This book... well, I don't know what to say without revealing too much but be prepared for a very interesting twist, and not one but two alluring love stories. The heroine, Elizabeth Williams, is down on her luck but when she arrives in the small coastal town of Port Lincoln her life is turned around. Dr. Ethan James is captivating in his role of savior to Elizabeth, and she falls hard for him, despite trying to shield her heart. Then she meets Captain Andrew Wentworth and is thrown into a mystery. AJ is one of the authors, I always read no matter what, she has yet to disappoint me. When I starting any of her books I know I may be mad at her for parts, and I may want to own stock in a tissue supplier. But when it comes down to it I fall in love with each and every book she writes. This book was no different I found myself struggling with Elizabeth and wanting to be the savior Ethan wants to be. AJ is one author that writes in such a way that you convince yourself you know what is going to happen next and then when you are wrong you are shocked. I found myself unable to put down this book I had to finish it in the same sitting. So if you are looking for a steady paced read that will have you wanting more I highly suggest one clicking this book now.

This was a different book for AJ to write, have read a lot of her books, she's a good story teller. When you're down on your luck and you finally find your home it all comes together. Without giving away the story, there is an experience with the past that is really interesting for the main character and it gives her a past that she can now move forward with. Thank you AJ for another great experience to read, Cheers

AJ did a great job with this book. She made your fall in love with the characters and made your heart break at the same time. There were moments that you were crying then happy again. True love finds each other even after a tragic loss and many years. The book grips your from the start and you will have troubles putting it down.

I have NEVER been let down by AJ Harmon and I wasn't let down with this book. AJ Harmon has always had twists and turns in her books (He's No Saint) but this book....this one I couldn't have guessed the ending. I felt close to Elizabeth, Ethan and Andrew and I even had a few tears at the tail end of the story. A definite must read!

I really loved this story. AJ Harmon has a way of making you fall in love with her characters. And this story is no different. Ethan, Bess and even Andrew and Lizzie bring you right into their lives and into their family. A chance meeting brings these characters together, but it's love that keeps them together.

Looking forward to read more from Harmon.

A unique love story that is heart warming and endearing in many ways. It's watching someone on the path of discovering who they are and their place in this world. There are bumps, unexpected twists and love in many forms along the way. This is a well written and beautiful story

Wow, where do I start! By page two I was hooked, by page 15 I was in tears, and every page after that I was rooting for Bess and Ethan. The ending had an amazing twist that I couldn’t believe I didn’t see coming. There was never a dull moment in this book. And I will do everyone a favor and not give any spoilers, because you really need to sit and read this one from start to finish with no pre-knowledge to spoil it for you. I love Harmon’s writing, both in this book and all her other books. She writes with such passion and feeling. She truly knows how to bring her characters to life. Definitely worth reading! I would also suggest getting tickets to Passion in Portland to meet this amazing author in person. She is as lively in person as she is in her writing.

This book was good. I had trouble getting into it at first. I'd say around 50% it picked up and I couldn't wait to see what happened!!!

I actually guessed a few things that would happen and was happy that they did.

Ethan is a man who likes to save people. I love that he wasn't pushy about it. He didn't force the people to do what he wanted. He offered and then let them make the decision.

Elizabeth was a great character to read about. She had so much happen to her and for the most part she kept her head held high. Love that.

Overall this was an enjoyable read!!! Can't wait for another book!

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I honestly don’t know where to begin. I finished the book a few days ago and I am still having a hard time putting words to my feelings. In many ways the book crushed my heart.
I was wrecked by the tragedy that surrounded Elizabeth William’s life. She has been dealt a loosing hand if I have ever seen one. On her one since she was 16, she has lost her job because of a flu that won’t go. With her car and a couple of bags full of her life she drives out of town towards the water.
The best thing that happens to Elizabeth is passing out in a diner and blacking out. Days later she awakens in an hospital to a diagnosis of cancer given by the man that will save her life in more ways than one. Dr. Ethan James gets her in a drug trial, puts a roof over her head, and love in her heart.
Elizabeth’s story isn’t the only reason I was wrecked. You see this is a paranormal romance (well kind of). Not long after taking up residence at the cottage, Elizabeth hears “stop” when she gets close to the cliff edge. The man behind the “stop” is Captain Andrew Wentworth. He died in a tragic shipwreck in 1781 just off the coast returning to the love of his life. He never left the property after discovering he had a daughter. His daughter was taken away. He would not rest until he knew what happened. His life of tragedy will find conclusion thanks to Elizabeth and James. The story tore at my heart. It left me gutted for a good portion of the book.
Just as Dr. James put Elizabeth back together, AJ put my heart back together. The ending was beautiful. The ending was so much more than I expected. The book was fantastic from beginning to end.

Love this book.

Love the way it goes from current to past. Bess has had a rough life. She ends up in Port Lincoln just by chance. She ends up in the hospital after falling in the diner in this town. Ethan is the emergency room doctor. Things progress throughout this book that are very emotional. She ends up meeting a ghost named Andrew that is living in Ethan's old house. Andrew is searching for his daughter. He had died in 1781. The things that happen throughout this book are an interesting rollercoaster of emotions. Love the ride. It is a fun and unique book. Loved the ending.

I love AJ's writing and this is no exception! I was sucked right into this story and didn't want to stop until the end. I didn't know what to expect and I was surely surprised. But in a good way. This story was fresh and untold. Something different to break up the same old I usually read. I loved these characters and thought the story flowed perfectly. There was mystery the entire way through the book, kept me on my toes! Great job AJ! I can't wait to read what is next!
