This book was a mix for me, so I think the easiest way to review it would be to list the things I liked, and those I didn't.

What I liked:

A cover that accurately reflected the woman described in the story. That is Kimber Cassidy, no doubt about it.

The spanking scenes were some of the best erotic spankings I've ever read, positively yummy.

Kimber was a well developed character, smart, confident, and determined.

What I didn't like so much:

For some reason I kept thinking of Nancy Drew as I read the story. I loved Nancy Drew books when I was a young girl back in the dark ages, but even then I knew the stories did not reflect how a young woman of that age would be treated when she got involved in crime solving. Unfortunately, I'm no longer so willing to suspend disbelief in this area - there is no possible way all those people would have blithely answered her questions about the murder. She would have been shot down immediately when she decided to play detective. For that reason, I kept thinking the title of this book may well have been, Nancy Drew Discovers Her Kinky Side,

Although Kimber was both smart and confident, I didn't really warm to her. It may have been for the reasons I mentioned above - she really was incredibly pushy!

The other characters were not given much depth. For this reason, the relationship between Kimber and Jeremy just didn't draw me in. Actually, I think there were almost too many characters and not enough pages to do them, or the story, justice.

First to be honest, I sought out Judith myself. I read her bio, and the details of this book. I told her what I do, and offered up my services to her. The reason? Because I liked that she wrote about a voluptuous plus sized woman, and wanted to make an amazing story for and about her. I also liked how she presented herself, and I thought my readers would enjoy the insight into her work as well.

The character that Judith writes about in “Smart As A Whip” is Kimber Cassidy, and she is the beautiful woman portrayed on the cover, in her mid twenties, and someone who believes that ‘size doesn’t matter.’

Looking at the cover, and the title, you are probably thinking, this is going to be a story of nothing but sex and erotica, am I right? Is that what you are thinking already? Well stop thinking, and follow along with me, if you will.

Judith is going to take you into her world of BDSM where a murder was committed, and Kimber’s friend Manny was charged for the crime.

You see, one thing that Kimber managed to pick up on from her father, was his detective skills. Unfortunately though, he was killed in the line of duty.

During Kimber’s investigation into the provocative BDSM playplace lifestyle, Kimber will use every bit of the skills she learned from her father, to determine who killed a member of their club. Her investigation enlightens her to things she never knew, including things about her family, and herself, which totally give Kimber a shock to her system that she had never anticipated.

Once Kimber meets another member named Jeremy, she realizes there is another world within the BDSM lifestyle, such as spankings and such. She also is awakened to her own desires, learning that Jeremy is a person who prefers to be a dom.

The fact that deep down inside of herself, Kimber can hear her father’s own words of advice, which manage to keep her focused. Otherwise, Kimber might have managed to have gotten lost in Jeremy. She had to remember, who to trust, and stay wise, otherwise a man was going to be charged for a crime he did not commit.

The book: “Smart As A Whip” is a definite five star read, I liked the fact that it wasn’t just a story of sex, it had a complete story line that you could delve into, and you wanted to solve. It was a mystery, and I have never found a story so intense that I was rooting for the characters, like I was with this one. Judith knows how to tell a story, and I am so glad that I sought her out! She is an amazing story teller!

WOW what a great read WOW

First off WOW I didn't see that coming. This had so many twist and turns all the way to the end. I thought I knew who did it, although Im glad it wasn't who I thought and boom Judith Anderson blew my mind with the outcome.
I think this is going to be my favorite suspense series. I absolutely love Kimber. She is beautiful and she is a feisty brilliant.
Judith Anderson has away with their words that wrap you into the story and keep you close to the characters.
I had a hard time putting this down and when I did all I could think about is what was coming next.. I think we all need a Kimber and Jeremy in our lives. I know I'll be reading the next Kimber story next.
Well done Judith Anderson.
I highly recommend this to all.

I enjoyed this second book in the Kimber Cassidy series. The writing is fresh, descriptive, and flows so very well. There was a time when another book was to have been written, and sadly it has not been. Sensual, mysterious, and lots of fun. Judith Anderson is a pen name for the author Kevin Plumb. He has wonderful insights to voluptuous women and how they act plus react. Maybe one day he will be inspired to write a follow up book to this one. I hope so.

I was very excited to receive this book, I had been wanting to read it since shortly after it came out.

My overall opinion is that the book is original and can hold it's own in the genre. This is slated as an erotica with an overall story beyond straight sex. My qualm with this, I feel the rest of the story has more development and I find the sex scenes more lackluster. This story is a prime example. I felt the sex scenes could have been longer or at least in more detail. Or maybe I just wanted them to be longer and more detailed. I like to get worked up when I read erotica. As far as the underlying story, I would have liked to learn more about the private investigation that Kimber was doing on the side of her actual job. I felt that, because this is a shorter story, that some aspects were glided over and became missed opportunities. It would have been nice to feel connected to Kimber instead of an observer of Kimber's everyday life.

On the positive, it was still a great story. I liked Kimber, and would like to know Kimber better. Hopefully there will be other stories with Kimber so that readers can get to know her better and hopefully build that connection. I wish there was some more BDSM, and I feel this book was a good opener if one has not read a BDSM style book before. I like that Kimber has confidence and an "in your face" personality. I feel there is a lot of promise in her character as she is further developed. And I of course loved Watson <3 and am glad he was okay!! Or this would have gotten one less star!! ;)

This story was hard to read. Kimber Cassidy is not smart as a whip. Her amateur hour as a private investigator makes a reader cringe. Her heart is in the right place but her skills are seriously lacking. If she really had that much logical and analytical skills, she'd have gone into law enforcement. Reading Sherlock Holmes does not equate to being a detective or a private investigator. The way this story is written, Kimber is more like the little kid, Encyclopedia Brown, but without the smarts. It was painful to follow Kimber as she solves this case when better trained law enforcement couldn't.

The BDSM element to this story was mild. Jeremy, the guy willing to "teach" Kimber all about this nasty dirty lifestyle her mother and "uncle" Manny are into seems nice. They had zero chemistry and the scenes were awkward for me. The entire story was unpolished and difficult to make it through. This short story tried to have several plots going at the same time and it didn't blend well together. The conflict was good, the execution was rough. The characters were underdeveloped. The suspense was poorly scripted. It would be nice if Kimber was developed more with some credentials. Creating sensual tension between Kimber and Jeremy would have helped heat the story up. Kinky interludes does not equate to good chemistry. Overall, this was a decent concept, just gracelessly executed.

I can't think of a better way to start a book that with a hot and sexy scene. Judith you treat me good, lol.
“Smart as a Whip” is the second book from Judith Anderson that I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing.
Kimber is this badass girl who does what she wants when she wants and take from guys what she needs. She's a plus size girl and very proud of it. Her life was shaken after one close friend been accused of murder one man. She's her father's daughter so she needs to get involved in the investigations to find what happened, to prove that her friend is innocent.
Can you be objective when you are trying to defend someone you care? Can the ties that bind us cloud our judgment?
This book has parts that I laugh a lot with trivial things that could happen to me and very very hot scenes that make our temperature raise, lol.
The suspense and the unknown are in great prominence in this book that makes us suspicious of everything and everyone and so I loved the plot and all the mystery that surrounds it.
Judith i love the fact that you approach the “plus size” issue without prejudice, without give a dam about what other people think or say. And because I love so much what you write I need more, ok? Lots of new books.

THE SEXIEST THING A WOMAN CAN HAVE IS CONFIDENCE

I enjoyed this story that will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat as the murder mystery unfolds. I thought that Kimber was ingenious, she has a good head on her shoulder for solving puzzles, maybe crosses the line of legalities, and knows what she wants and is not afraid to pursue it. That goes both in and out of the bedroom. She has confident, intelligent, and definitely resourceful.

The plot twist as this who-dun-it mystery slowly unravels and takes the reader on a journey that includes uncovering a painful past for her own family, a discovery that is shocking and coming to terms with lies. Not everyone is on the up-and-up, and it is one thing to want to protect confidentiality, but during a murder investigation, secrets will come out.

I found the characters to be well developed, their interaction to add to the mystery and suspense and the dialog to reveal bits and pieces in a timely manner to allow this story to play out. Kimber wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps, and she completes one of her lifelong dreams of solving a crime. “You never know what you can do until you get out of your comfort zone.”

This was a great romantic suspense. It kept you guessing through the end. The more Kimber investigates the murder at the club, the more questions and suspects she has. Then there is Jeremy, so much chemistry between him and Kimber. He helps her explore a side of herself that she is unsure of and it is hot. This starts with Kimber helping a family friend and ends with life altering news.
This book has so many twists and turns, you are surprised where you end up. This was a great read and was able to read in one sitting. Kimber is a great, strong, and intelligent woman. She is interesting as the story develops. I like the strong heroine. This is definitely an enjoyable suspenseful romance.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

**** So this was definitely a 4 star read for me, Not only does it have some serious steamy delicious scenes , But the mystery and the twists does captivate you and you find it hard to put the book down. The reason I only rate it a 4 star is there were minor things I didn’t like… Mainly for me it was that Kimber was so cold and a little pushy, but that being said you warm up to her and then when you do u want more of her and a lot more.. Me being a bigger built lady wishes that I can have half the self confidence that Kimber has… For once this is an amazingly written story with good plots & twists that actually does not have a size 0 “Hero”. And then lastly I wanted to comment on the Cover of this book… A cover that accurately reflected & described Kimber Cassidy, no doubt about it.

When a friend is accused of murder outside the local BDSM club, Kimber gets the chance to help her friend and pursue her dream job of being an investigator. Her father was a police detective and taught her well. It is fascinating to follow her journey through the investigation as the reader develops suspects along with Kimber. The book also follows a charming and sizzling new relationship with one of the club members. It is a fast paced, interesting read. That said, I wish the author had spent a little more time on the fact that Kimber was plus sized and how that might affect her new relationship.

While this book was a little short and could have included more sex and spankings, I truly enjoyed reading this fast paced mystery. The plot was well thought out and kept me guessing as to who murdered Jim Trace. This page turner was hard to put down with the many twists, turns, and suspects. The characters could have been more complex but still fit with the plot and pace of the story. Overall I recommend this story and encourage others to read this book for a great mystery to keep you on the side of your seat.

I found this book to be a thoughtful, kinky well-written story. The romance between Kimber and Jeremy is a wonderful example of a very realistic grown-up relationship – with ups and downs and quick to bed. The author wrote a group of wonderful supporting characters that provide Kimber with lots of suspects and ultimately help her solve this murder mystery. Even the murderer, when discovered, was very sympathetic. This is the first book that I read by the author and I would read another one.

A superhero in her own right, Kimber, a true beauty, inside and out, embarks on journey to hopefully right a terrible wrong and just maybe find her true calling in life.

What's there to say but I want to be just like Kimber, not just because she is smart and witty but the internal strength that she poseses. There were times of vulnerability, but she never let that hold her back.

This story was well written and that it held a true meaning to the suspense it held, I look forward to reading more of Kimber's journey hopefully in the near future.

This book was a little slow in the beginning but quickly picked up pace and held my attention with the sexual chemistry between the 2 main characters and the suspenseful, twisting and winding mystery. Extremely strong and confident in herself sexual ( several guys on hand including sex in opening sentence) BBW woman and a more dominant man , whom helps her explore the BDSM world, are the 2 characters driving this story with lots of supporting characters. This book has more suspense and sexual tension then actual sex and spanking but there are some scenes that are hot.

Overall the more I read of this book the more I enjoyed it, it took me most of the first half though. I have to admit that I found the habit of all the characters of constantly winking at each other off putting & slightly creepy. Can totally understand if that's just me though! Both characters are very strong & at times Kimber can close to overpowering Jeremy & I found it had to connect to them. Basically, I found it a pleasant read as a time filler.

Never Give Up - The Truth is There

Trying to prove the innocence of the man she referred to as Uncle Manny Kimbra has her hands full. Uncle Manny the prime suspect did not kill the man though the police believe he did through the stacked evidence they found. Kimbra uncovers much more than she intended as she digs thru the victims past which connects to the future and his killer. It was an emotional ride with many twist & turns but a joyful read. Cannot wait to read your next book.

I enjoyed this murder mystery which was an action packed story with some mild elements of BDSM, spanking and plenty of twists and turns to keep me turning pages as fast as I could in this Who Done It. The author explored the characters feeling and emotions and kept me guessing until the end. A very good read!

This was a very interesting story full of mystery, surprises and hot steamy sex. The characters are intense and have remarkable interactions throughout. Kimber and Jeremy have an instant attraction as the story line keeps you guessing, who done it, til the very end. This was the first book I have read by this author but it will definitely not be the last. Awesome read!

I loved Kimber. I found myself wanting to have the same personality and confidence she had. She's quite a woman.
This book was so much fun. The twists and surprises added more to it. I will just say I was delighted to discover the bad guy wasn't who I feared it was. A great, fun read.
