Thank you to Netgalley, Llewellyn Publication, and Cyndi Dalte for the chance to read and review this ARC;
I really wanted more from this book from the start than I ended up getting. I was a little surprised to open the digital copy and find how roughly done this book was, without any images (spaces for which were filled with glaringly large, distracting orange boxes everywhere when you turned pages) and with some rather glaring formatting errors (that I hope might have just been the way it was loaded into the e-readers?).
I can usually set these things aside, due to the nature of early review, especially when it's clear people are looking for content review more than whole package review. Setting that aside, though, didn't end up improving my 'already shaky' opinion going in. While the book is a surfeit of information on the chakras, how to use them, what to do with them, and what best things to connect to your already other magical practices, I found it sorely lacking in being a helpful resource on everything in all of the Chakras and their connections/attributes alone.
I think this book would need to make it incredibly clear from the backcover that this book shouldn't be picked up by novices to the chakras, looking for an easy ability to start using what is listed, or that they might find themselves expecting to step into shallow, warm, welcoming waters and inside plunged into the depths of the sea.
"Czakry" to kolejna książka z serii przepięknie wydanych Małych poradników.
Autorka opisuje i charakteryzuje każdą z czakr, a następnie wskazuje możliwe ścieżki pracy z nimi.
I have only in the last year come across Cyndi Dale’s books. I’m finding, that despite covering similar topics in other books (i.e. chakras), each book approaches in a slightly different way and has different exercises. So, I’m always learning something new!
I find she provides good detail so you can apply what she teaches - and not too many things to learn in one book so you don’t feel overwhelmed / like it’s impossible to progress through. An excellwnt balance.
I have taken away 2-3 core new learnings to work with from this book - which just excites me! - as well as lots of perfect little explanations that just add to my growing understanding of the material.
I felt just as excited by her book, Subtle Energy Techniques.
I usually like Llewellyn's publications but found this one a bit heavy going for a 'little book' (have read others in this series). For a beginner to learn about chakras this could have been a bit more simplified, and perhaps a little of the more 'new age' stuff such as talking about auric fields and quantum physics is best left to a more advanced learner. I am working my way through it, but I must say I've read easier books on the topic. Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to review this book.
It is a great simple and easy guide to understanding chakras and how to do chakra work for healing, manifesting, growth, insights, spiritual guidance, and more. I really enjoyed learning about chakras this in-depth. This book is a great reference book to go back to whenever needed when working with chakras. I am excited to try out the exercises in this book. :)
I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley.
Llewellyn's Little Book of Chakras is the perfect introduction to the basic principles of Chakras. The book is divided into two parts. Part 1 offers the basic background information on Chakras including what they are, what they are associated with, and how they are used. Dale offers an in-depth explanation for each Chakra. She also shares her own personal experiences using Chakras and the benefits that have come from working with them. Part 2 introduces hands-on Chakra exercises that you can use on yourself or someone else. The exercises are laid out step-by-step and are super easy to do on your own. I'd recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning more about Chakras or expanding their knowledge about them.
I finished Cyndi Dale's " Llewellyn's Little Book of Chakras" in about a week. But really, this book is going to be a fantastic reference tool I can see myself referring to over and over again. I've read several books (and many online articles) on chakras and this is by far the best writing I've read on the subject.
Dale has an intimate knowledge of the chakra system, and that really comes through with her work. This is a well thought-out and planned book. She goes through the basics: what is a chakra, history of the chakra systems and brief explanation of what they do in our bodies. The next section of the book really in-depth and practical ways to use chakras. This portion of the book is filled with useful exercises of engaging your chakras. I've only done a few of the exercises, but I've found them extremely engaging.
I really don't have anything negative to say about this book. If you want a really solid beginners book to chakras, I recommend. Even if you aren't a beginner, I think this book has some really fantastic exercises and information that anyone with an interest in chakra development would find incredibly useful.
I received an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley for my honest opinion.
I read this over a few weeks, taking small sections at a time. It's the sort of book that's good for dipping in and out of, but on the whole is quite hard to read cover to cover. Chakras are emotional and can be hard to visualise in the first place, let alone actually work on them, so the book takes time to get through and contemplate.
The author herself has a lovely writing style, easy and open, with lots of her own experiences and stories especially at the beginning so you get a sense of who she is, which was a really nice touch here.
I think the book is likely better in true form, but I received an ebook copy and this made the experience somewhat less special. Llewelyn's books are very pretty and can be lovely to hold, so I would recommend this option if possible- I'm planning to pick up the hardcover edition for future reference as opposed to cover-to-cover reading.
