After suffering for years with chronic nerve pain due to GBS, and tired of the pain meds, I decided to look into medical marijuana. There's a ton of info online but it's nice to have it all from one source. Authors are knowledgeable and compassionate, and the book has plenty of sources to back up their claims and for the reader to do additional research. Lots of recipes as well but I was surprised not to see marijuana brownies LOL! Medical marijuana seems to work for so many others, and my pain doctor is 109% supportive, so I'm looking forward to seeing if it works for me as I wean off these pain meds. And it's been fun learning so much about it as I'm "sheltering in place" due to COVID-19. Thank you Laurie and Mary!
No matter what side of the topic you're on, The Medical Marijuana Dispensary is a great research tool for a well informed and educated opinion. Being a psychology major, I'm very interested in more natural treatments for mental health. This really is an all in one guide covering areas such as history, effects, recipes, as well as strains. I also appreciate that the authors promote a respect and responsibility for medicating while backing their finds with research and evidence.
I received this in exchange for a fair and honest review.
The first half of the book is an introduction to medical marijuana including history and ailments that it helps with. As a nurse in a state with legalized medical marijuana I found this very helpful as I am working with more patients utilizing medical marijuana. The second half of the book talks about cooking with marijuana and includes some great sounding recipes that are both sweet and savory. Overall, this is a great introductory guide to medical marijuana and cooking with it.
I got this for my Dad who's recently been hospitalized several times with pancreatitis and It has hands down been a blessing. This book has given him the assurance that with herbs and knowledge he can fight even cancer. Excellent book.
This book is like an encyclopedia of medical marijuana. There was so much more information than I realized was essential to know when entering this field of treatment. It was clearly presented and well organized. I feel much more prepared to start experimenting with some of the products described.
