Bearfield #5

Fake It Til You Mate It

Rate this book
A friends to lovers romance, with smiles and charm.

Bachelor bear shifter Danny Morrissey is the total package. He’s drop dead gorgeous, funny, wealthy, and a god in the sack. He lives his life flitting from one pair of spread thighs to the next; savouring each lucky lady and leaving a trail of rumpled sheets, smiling faces, and the occasional broken heart in his wake. But an urgent text message from his family is about to put an end to his carefree, pleasurable lifestyle.

Sarah Honeywell is Danny’s best friend and his only confidant. She has curves in all the right places and a bruised ego from a sudden breakup. So when Danny tells her he needs help with some bear business, she jumps at the chance to focus on someone else’s problems for a change. But little does she know her life is about to get a whole lot more complicated.

In the midst of a meeting of all the packs, Danny is given an ultimatum: if he doesn't produce the mate he's claimed to have, he'll be forced into an arranged marriage that will cast him far from everything he holds dear.

Only Sarah can save him now, but what if pretending to be his mate feels too good? What if those glances he steals of her bare thighs are more than just an act?

FAKE IT TIL YOU MATE IT is a paranormal romance set in the sleepy but mysterious town of Bearfield. It’s a standalone story with a helluva HEA and no cliffhangers.

I really liked Danny and Sarah's story! friends to lovers is one of my favorite story lines. Danny rises out of a crappy childhood to make his own family and his own way. When he and Sarah finally get together it is like a phenomenal fireworks show!

I enjoyed Sarah and Danny's story. It was quick a read but I think there could've been more to it. Maybe future books will tell us more about Danny's parents, what happened with Jordan and her pack after the Bearmoot, and a few other characters' stories.

A quick easy read. Cotton candy for the brain. I was expecting a little more conflict, but it was smooth sailing. Even the conflict at the end was resolved within a page.

Good story!

Loved thisbook but I would have given a higher rating if there weren't grammar and proofreading errors.

Danny is a bear shifter. He left his small town to find himself and search for his mate. When a friend sees him shift by accident, she slowly becomes his best friend and confidant.

Sarah has loved Danny since she first saw him shift. She's compared every crappy boyfriend to him. She knew that it wasn't fair, but she can't help it. After her most recent breakup, Danny is summoned home. He had made a deal 10 years ago that he'd find his mate in the city or agree to an arranged marriage to another shifter.

When Sarah finds out that she'll never see him again, she agrees to be his fake mate. They travel to Bearfield to show the elders and his cruel parents that they are mated.

Suddenly, Danny's bear realizes that Sarah is his mate, now he just needs to tell her. He's always had feelings for her but when he was single, she wasn't, etc. Now knowing that she's his best friend and fated mate makes so much sense.

But when his abusive mother finds out that her plans are ruined, what will she do?

A must read!!

This is Danny and Sarah's story . These two have been friends for years now and know everything about each other . The were just some what friends until one night when Danny comes upon Sarah while she is waiting for her boyfriend to come back . And from there a strong friendship is forged . But Danny has a problem he must bring his mate to the Bear Moot or will be forced into and arranged marriage . So Sarah , since she knows everything about him decides to pretend to be his mate so that he is not forced to do anything ! As they make a stop at his parents place Danny tells Sarah due to the bad memories there he wants her to keep talking so that her voice will keep him grounded . But he takes so long that Sarah says some things she hopes he did not hear ! Yes I really enjoyed this one too !! It is well written and recommended to all !!

So when I started this I didn't know this was book #5 ( I must have blocked that part out) BUT , I didn't feel left out, or confused etc. I enjoyed the jokes between Sarah and Danny. It was a quick read, and I will be going back and reading 1-4.

Danny is an alpha bear in his clan. His,parents gave him years to find a mate, if not there will be an arranged marriage. Sarah has been Danny's friend for a while. She's had a crush on him but, never said anything. So when the time comes for him to meet his clan, Sarah claims she will be his mate. Can these two fool the clan? Or will their true feelings come out for each other? Great book.

Okay

This style is a bit different for the Bearfield series. The characters are okay, although I'm not a fan of man whores. The potential conflict fizzled like a wet squib. Great sizzle and light humor, though.

FAKE IT TIL YOU MATE IT {A BEARFIELD STORY}

This story focuses on; SARAH, a curvy, sassy beautiful human; Danny, a strikingly gorgeous heart-stirring Alpha to his pack, were-bear.

Sarah is Danny’s best friend, she knows about his bear side, and has kept his secret. Danny also finds Sarah beautiful, sassy and intelligent, but has never acted on it, because the timing was never right; either she was with someone or he was, and since he doesn’t believe in cheating or stealing another man’s lady they stay only friends. Sarah always compares the men she dates to Danny; in her eyes, he is almost the perfect man with his strapping build, sense of humor and his kindness. Danny’s family is calling a meeting, and he must go back home to participate, but there is a catch; if Danny is not mated by this meeting then he would have to mate a woman his parents have chosen for him. Sarah offers to be his pretend mate, and Danny hopes they can pull it off because he would have to move back home, and never see Sarah again...

A FANTASTIC fast paced well written creative read by a truly gifted author. Fabulous dialogue, breathtaking scene descriptions, and intriguing plot keep you glued to the story. The chemistry between Sarah and Danny is more than convincing, and their sensual romance is filled with fiery passion. I loved the concept of the best friend and build up to the romance, as it made a most entertaining read. If you treasure shifter romance this is a terrific book for your library. {I was gifted this book, and this is my complete honest review}. In the world of shifter romance, the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservation, I recommend this book.

A VERY FUNNY STORY, A LOVE STORY
I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW...... OVER 18+ READING
Danny Morrissey (a alpha bear shifter) and Sarah Honeywell are best friends, never been more then that. They have seen each other though many break ups with dinner ,drinks talk, a shoulder to moan on and ice cream. For the first time Danny tell her he has broken up with his girlfriend during after work drinks but she has a date. Her date ends in a break up and she texts Danny to tell him and ask if he is hungry so he walks in to where she is eating with ice cream. He has what could be bad news, he has to go home in the morning and since he hasn't found his mate he could be forced to marry whoever his parents chooses that week end and never get to come back. He commits that if he'd know the meeting was going to be that week end he would have ask one of his ex girlfriend to pretend to be his mate. Sarah can't stand not ever seeing him again so says she'll do it. And the adventure begins...how do you fool a bunch of bear shifters...alphas, elders and your own parents. More importantly how can you keep fooling yourself about how you really feel? How the other feels? Oh! and the penalty for trying to fool them is not just Danny has to marry who they say because it is actually breaking their laws so it is more serious then Danny thinks. But after the years of friendship, that first kiss will surprise them both. But from beginning to end they are finding out new things and wait till she finds out the ages of him and his pack. What's that old saying "when first you practice to deceive" these two could be in very bad trouble.

This was my first time reading any books by Jacqueline Sweet and by no means the last. I was asked to read this book in hopes for an honest review, I was not given this copy because I had purchased it and boy was it worth it. The emotional roller coasters we all go through in the process of finding ourselves and our one true love. In this story Danny is the alpha of his bear clan and is due to get mated soon. He was given 10years to find his mate by his mother with the ultimatum that if he didn't find her he would marry would who she had. He is a amazing super sexy rich bear architect but no luck in the mate department..In a crazy attempt to stray takes his best friend Sarah as his fake mate. BUT what happens when in faking you find forever.....and how would you explain that to your best friend...
Sarah is a big beautiful woman who also is super smart and the business manager at the company with Danny . She is also who has had super bad luck in the guy department, they either use her or treat her bad..how was she to know that the man she was secretly in love with and who also was her bestie was meant for her and her alone. Yes she agreed to being his fake girlfriend but what she really wanted was him for real but someone wants trouble what will happen if they discover the truth? Is there a chance of winning for them? Read and find out....

danny and sarah, BFF's for ages, sarah being one of the few knowing that danny can turn furry when he wants to.
but now danny is called back to a big pack meeting and he has one big problem. he's supposed to bring a mate or be "happy" with the woman his mother will arrange for him. explaining his dilemma to sarah she knows there is only one thing to do. they'll fake being together.
for sarah there won't be much faking, she always had a little crush on danny but the time never seemed right, or he was dating someone, or she was seeing someone, but now both were single and if this was a way she could help him out...
when they arrive and meet his small pack, their ruse is quickly discovered and simply pretending won't be enough. her scent isn't right, they will have to take it a step further. but it seems neither of them mind that much. not when danny's bear is finally waking up and being more adamant what sarah is to them.
when they discover their true feelings for each other, you'd think that would be the end of it, but then you don't know danny's mom ....
she tries her best to thwart her son but does she succeed or not?

was the first book i read in this series and i happen to like them. will have to dig a bit further in this series and see if the other books are just as good!

Another great story of the Morrissey Bear Clan this time Danny a cousin to the alpha of Bearfield is living in San Francisco as an Architect and that is where he meets Sarah Honeywell and they have been best friends and they both due a lot of dating because they have not been able to find the one but Danny has had ten years and now he has received a demand to return home and be married if he has not found his fated mate he asks his best friend Sarah to pretend to be his mate and they go to his home town on the way he explains what he needs her to do so that they can try and fool the pack into believing that they are mates but as soon as he introduces Sarah to his pack members one of them Rhett takes him off and tells him he knows that Sarah is not his mate and the elders. So Danny does what he must to protect himself and Sarah but they find out that they are each others fated mate. This is a really a romantic comedy with just and little edge to it. Very enjoyable. I received a complimentary copy of 'Fake it Til You Mate It' from the author, in exchange for my honest review.

I originally read the first part of 'Fake it Til You Mate It' in the "Alpha Fever" anthology, so was pleasantly surprised to find out that it wasn't the complete book & that there was more to the story. 'Fake it Til You Mate It' is book 5 in Jacqueline's "Bearfield" series, I highly advise you read the series in order.

Danny & his best friend Sarah live in the city, they've never dated, but she's the only human in the city who knows the who he really is. When it's time to take his mate, the one he'd told his parents about to keep them quiet, to the Big Bear Meet, Sarah offers herself as his fake mate for the weekend...

What twists & turns this book made, I didn't expect some of what I've just read, I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the massive backstory in this, plus getting a glimpse of all the bears at the Big Bear Meet. I loved this book & can't wait to read what comes next in the "Bearfield" series.

Two stars

Not a really good read. Just sort of ok. The story follows an Alpha bear shifter who has his best friend attend an important event as his pretend mate to prevent being mated to a stranger. This story had potential to be awesome. I liked the idea, the back drop, and I like the secondary characters of the bear pack.
What was lacking was a good solid story line. The story started with them already half in love with each other. There was no conflict, buildup, or mystery there.
Secondly, the story felt rushed and incomplete. You literally jump from one scene to another with very little natural transition. Before you realize it the story is over, and you're left wondering what just happened.
The all important must attend event that the main character was stressing over was just blown off with literally no consequences. This story was just very disjointed, the main female character was an idiot, and the main conflict the story was building up to never happened.

Fake It Til You Mate It by Jacqueline Sweet is the fifth book in the Bearfield book series. This is a standalone book with no cliffhangers and an HEA. It is not necessary to read the rest of the books in this series but I would highly recommend doing so. I also would recommend this book to any fans of shifter romances, especially those who like bear shifters.

Synopsis:

Danny Morrissey is a handsome and rich bear shifter. He's been away from how for a while and has been looking for his true mate. Now he's being called home to present this mate to the pack or a mate will be arranged for him. Desperate he turns to his best-friend Sarah Honeywell to save him. He asks her to come home with him and pretend to be his mate. She agrees because she doesn't want to loose her best-friend and because she wishes they were more. Read to find out what happens next.

A good story.
I feel like I was missing something reading this. As this is book 5, there is obviously more background to be had and I feel like I should have read them first to understand this book better. Will have to read them to find out.
I liked Sarah and Danny. I would have liked more background on Danny’s childhood, sounds horrible but we are not given enough information apart from meeting his mother who was a piece of work. My goodness.
It is so true that what you want is sometimes right under your nose. Best friends become fated mates. Not sure why the timing was never right before but being called home to marry some else obviously kicked everything off. Wonder what would have happened if Sarah had not offered to help Danny out.
I enjoyed the story and loved some of Danny’s crew we meet. If you are following this series, you will enjoy reading this book.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. Sarah and Danny are best friends. Each has tried relationships but they always fail. Now Danny has to meet his family at a MOOT and if he isn't mated then he has to marry who was chosen. Needless to say, Danny is not happy about this and Sarah and Danny decide to fake it. Then it really starts to get interesting. Let's just say that Danny's mother is not very happy but the Alpha of Bearfield - yep Bearfield - fix the issue. Parts one and two are great.

Part I and II go together and the story works our really well. The epilogue was a bit confusing with the introduction of new characters and a new plot. I think this part should have either been left out or integrated more into the first parts of the book. Needless to say, knowing the ending as we're reading a beginning to a plot is confusing.

This is another great book in the Bearfield series. Danny and Sarah have been friends for what feels like forever, but have never taken the relationship to the next level. Sarah knows Danny is a bear shifter due to an accidental panic shifting in front of her. Danny has never told Sarah that he had been given 10 years out of his hometown to find his mate, and during those years he really didn't try very hard to find her. Now it is time to go back and since he has not found a mate his parents have one lined up. Sarah volunteers to go back with him and pretend to be his mate thinking she is going to lose him anyway and wants to enjoy the last of her time with him. The romance in this story was really sweet and it made me smile when Danny and Sarah finally really connected. I can't wait for the next book in this series and hope it is about 'Lady Nothing'
