A fascinating and accessible exploration of this intriguing and important artefact. As a surviving piece of the medieval mind, the Mappa Mundi is both confusing and engaging. Sarah Arrowsmith's book allows the reader to understand both the philosophy, religion and anthropology underpinning the map's content, while also providing a good summary of the research into its creation and use.
