Merryn Dexter’s Silver Moon is yet one more reason I love this author! Her contributions to the Black Hills Wolves series (A Mate’s Healing Touch and A Mate’s Redeeming Touch) are spectacular and had me falling in love with shifter stories once again. Ms. Dexter has now joined the other talented authors of the Hot Moon Rising series by penning book #6, Silver Moon. And once again she proves she is a master at writing 5-star novellas. The story is fast-paced with just the right amount of intrigue and danger to keep you on edge, the characters are fully developed, and the dialogue is fun, witty, and sexy. Best of all, the attraction between her characters is always Snap, Crackle, Sizzle, and Pop! I don’t know how she does it but damn, the chemistry emanates from the pages full force, grabbing onto your heart and...places farther south.
Kirk Matheson’s job as the pack Enforcer is rapidly coming to an end. Now that the pack is settling and rebuilding in the safety of Central Florida, the threats he protected them from are few and far between.
Every step he’d taken down the road to hell had been taken with the sure knowledge no one else in the pack would have to perform an evil deed for the greater good. He carried the sins of their survival so they didn’t have to.
Being an Enforcer is all he’s ever known, and as far as he’s concerned, all he’s good for. He stays away from the other pack members. Their looks of fear and pity say it all. So excuse him if he has no idea what to do with a frightened, buttoned-up little thing of a school teacher his Alpha has just dropped in his lap announcing that it’s Kirk’s job to protect her from the local gang. He’s not a bodyguard, dammit. He’s not a babysitter, either. And he’s definitely not used to having anyone invade his house. Especially not a human female whose curvy little body is calling to his wolf in a big way. And we all know you don’t mess with the wolf. He wants what he wants and he always gets it.
Silver Ellis seems to have gone from bad to worse. It was a huge mistake venturing into that unsafe neighborhood to check on one of her students. But hindsight isn't going to help her situation. Witnessing a murder was the last thing she expected, much less the gun pointed at her head. Now she’s under the “protection” of one very large, very scary man with muscles to rival Thor’s. On top of that, he’s a big grump. The teacher in her wants to break through all that bad mood but he’s not cooperating. To make matters even more uncomfortable he’s kind of sexy in a brooding way, and watching him do his daily workouts is becoming quite the turn on. But there's something he’s not telling her...
Ms. Dexter creates original characters who draw you in and have you invested in their lives in no time. Kirk has zero people skills, which results in his every move scaring the crap out of Silver. His attempts to put her at ease are awkward and often hilarious, and Ms. Dexter’s subtle humor had me giggling. Kirk’s frustrated refusal to give up made me fall for him even more. Silver is the perfect yin to Kirk’s yang. This author is a true matchmaker. Once Silver realizes Kirk isn't a threat, she lets down her prim and proper guard and relaxes. Her character is strong and determined, and when pushed, delivers some full on adorable sassy attitude. Her inexperience with men doesn’t stop her from lusting after Kirk, making the first move, and allowing herself to savor every dirty thing he does to her. This sexy novella is everything you could possibly want in a quick read. Silver Moon is creative, the characters are compelling and believable, the chemistry sizzles, and the writing, as always, is top notch!

Wow! This is the first book of the series I have read and it was awesome! So much action going on. Kirk was so deep and dark until he met Silver. He was the packs enforcer, so if someone needed to disappear he made it happen.
When Derek called him to the diner for help that's what he figured he needed not for him to guard a scared woman. He started dragging her off to kill and hide her body before they stopped him.
Silver was trying to make a difference as her job as a teacher. The kids at her school were so beat down from life. They thought their only options were gangs or hooking. That's sad. Silver had a student with promise she wanted to check on . But when she got there she end up almost dying for witnessing a hit.
When she meets Kirk he scares the carp out of her. But she soon learns his bark ain't so bad.
Kirk can't resist her and goes hardcore on her with sex. His wolf knows that she's their mate and must be protected above all else.
Silver never had a man like Kirk but she accepts him wolf and all.
When Silver is caught by the gang leader. Kirk knows he would die getting her bad. He did what he did best, kill.
I loved this book! I plan on going back to read the rest of the series.

Silver Moon is the sixth book in an exciting multi-author series called the Hot Moon Rising series. Nevertheless, it can be read as a standalone.
Have you ever heard or read a book which started with a girl at the wrong place and time? Well, Silver, our human heroine, was at the wrong place and time and ended up almost murdered until she was saved and immerses into the shifter world by being put in witness protection custody. On top of that, her guardian is much more than she bargain for, a moody and gruff shifter who is feared by almost everyone at the pack even when his role is to protect them. I must confess I so love that characters who seem to be so different end up falling in love. I think that love is not about finding someone that shares the most interests or strong points with you but to find someone that would complement you and support you on your path. I think that is what happened to our rough around the edges werewolf, Kirk, and our human heroine, Silver. Honestly, the life of the poor woman did a 180° so suddenly, I would have been in total shock if I was in her place and I am not sure if I would be able to overcome it as easily as her.
I understand why Kirk is so antisocial. Anyone that represents the last line of defense of the pack, the one that needs to fight harder than anyone else and do anything to keep the pack safe, even at the expense of his life, is meant to become rough and intimidating. That doesn’t mean he is a bad man, like he want to make Silver believe at first. I must admit I loved Silver’s personality. She was passionate, sweet, kind and understanding. Basically, everything Kirk needed. Therefore, I just couldn’t help to smile and feel all warm inside when he started to open his heart to her. It was so adorable watching him live like a normal man, even if it was just a little. He felt so domesticated and his expression and actions around her were so adorable, sexy, sweet, and more. If anyone at the pack saw those two when they were at his home they would probably faint due to the surprise. Nevertheless, I understand their need to keep their feet on the ground until the case in which Silver is involved is solved. Honestly, I was so awed by those two but I couldn’t help but think about that horrible men than got Silver involved into a near to death experience and I could sympathize with Kirk’s fear to lose her. After all, he just found his one and only and was slowly getting things back to the way they were before he shifted in front of her. Nevertheless, a happy ending is not something easy to achieve.
I would highly recommend this book to the paranormal lovers who adore a sweet and dramatic romance between a gruff shifter and a sweet human. Don’t worry, romance is not the only thing in this book. We have enough handsome shifters, sparks of comedy, action, and mystery to go around.

Everything. You’re in big trouble, Silver. WOW! What a HOWLING GRRREAT WOLFTASTIC story! This is such a WOLFTACULAR story that you need – NEED – to read! I LOVED it, I DO LOVE it from very beginning to the FURRY TAIL end!! From the moment I heard about this new book Merryn was going to be releasing, I knew I wanted - needed - to read it! Then I actually started reading... I was so enthralled by it that I not only read it without stopping, but I didn't even shift positions!! (But boy was I cramped up with the intenseness and HOTNESS of it all!) Silver Moon has so many PAWESOME features to it, its next to IMPAWSSIBLE to name them all! There's caring, friends, I was cramped up with the suspense/intense parts, and I loved every itty, bitty second of it! Well up until I reached The End, that is! wink Silver & Kirk had me running through a whole range of emotions from laughing, crying, fear, worry, lust & love, just to give you a *ahem* taste! With her lush, beautiful details every single aspect of Merryn’s stories bursting to life in my mind's eye, transporting me even further into her stories, leaving me feeling like I lived this myself! And then add in her beautiful, funny, loving, multifaceted & FURRIFIC characters that you can't help but love and - if you are like me - are eager to become, even if it is *sigh* “just” for the time it takes to read each book! And besides... who wouldn't want to tame The Big Bad Wolf? I EAGERLY DEVOUR every book of Merryn's that I can because I know that it is going to be a reading experience like no other! what a tale. silver ellis needs a change in her live after her only parents passes also. but the change of scenery didn't bring the change she craved. her students didn't care if they learned anything, not when a ten year old states very firmly that the only skill she laters needs is being pretty enough to find her a well off boyfriend (putting this politely). there is only one student in her class that is making an effort but just that student hasn't shown up for some days now and silver takes it upon herself to check up on said student.
she didn't expect to walk in on a shooting, not thinking she could clearly hear who was there and their names. her only saving grace were the police sirens already coming near prompting the killer and his goons to take of.
at the police station they are well aware she's a witness they will have to protect and putting her in the normal witness protection program ain't gonna help her. that's where the wolfpack comes in. they are aware of the gang in town and are wel equipped to keep her safe.
as silver is whisked of to pack-land, jesse the officer who saved her, is already working hard to figure out to keep her safe and where.
Kirk wasn't happy when jesse showed up with the human woman. he wasn't kind, he didn't want companionship in any way, shape or form. but now jesse, his alpha, had to order him to keep the frail woman safe.
it was the biggest and meanest man silver ever laid eyes on, but at the same time she could see there was more to his facade of indifference. days pass and things between them are starting to get rather uncomfortable in certain places and when it's only two people between four walls someone is bound to snap sooner or later!
what pasts do people have to conquer to get the HEA they deserve? who do they have to fight: the bad guys? old demons from the past?
well build story, with a nice closed ending for this couple who got there in the end. there was passion, there was drama, action... something for everybody.

A shy, buttoned-up homebody, Silver Ellis was in the wrong place, at the wrong time and was an unwilling witness to the murder of a young man. Luckily,the police get there in time to save her from being killed as well. For her protection they decide to hide her out in their Pack. Oh yeah, she's very human and they're part of a wolf pack. Their Alpha asks the Pack Enforcer, Kirk, to protect her from possible harm. Kirk is hardheaded and ruthless and not a babysitter!! But one look at Silver, and her honeysuckle scent, has him lusting after her and figuring he could touch her as he's watching her...and then send her own her way once it's safe. He doesn't count on his heart, and wolf, getting involved. Can Kirk keep her safe from the gang members that are after her? Will he be able to let Silver go when it's over? Read for yourself and find out.

Don't ever downplay your worth, others probably see you in a much better light than you do.
Silver Ellis is very naive young woman, who has never lived among the cruelties of life, or the good ones for that matter becuase she was always very sheltered. She thought that moving to Florida after her fathers death would change her life and be better for her and soon learns the ugliness of the world, but also learns how beautiful it can be when in the right company.
Kirk Matheson, is a very huge intimidating wolf, who does all the most deadly and bloody deeds for his pack.. He lives in his world apart from all the pack members, for he doesn't want to see the looks of fear whenever he passes by, but do they really fear him. He just waits for his Alpha to call when something, no someone needs disposing of. When he is called upon to protect a human, he is thrown for a loop, but worse than that he feels a very stong need to protect and make this sweet, innocent human his, but a monster like him could never give her the tenderness she deserves and needs, or can he....Can the Beauty calm the Beast and will she be able to handle what he dishes out?
The passion and love is drool worthy.

While this is the 6th book in the series, I was able to read it and understand all of the pack dynamics. Silver is a human teacher, alone in the world, she witnesses a murder and is hidden with the packs "Enforcer" Kirk. Silver only knows that Kirk is rude, and offered to kill her the 1st time he saw her, so she's not to keen on trusting him. Kirk is used to being the "killer" for his pack, so when he recieved a call from his Alpha to "take care of " a human woman, he assumed it meant kill her, not take her into his home and keep her safe. The time Silver and Kirk spend together, let's them see that they are both wrong and right about each other, when they are betrayed, Kirk must get Silver out of harms way for good. Let me tell you, this was a quick, hot, intriguing read. Good, solid characters, storyline is believable, everything you could want in a book, except maybe a little longer, for them to get to know each other before jumping into bed, solid 4☆'s. I will be getting the rest of the books in Merryn Dexter's Hot Moon Rising series and reading them as soon as possible. I recieved a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was given an ARC of "Silver Moon" from Merryn, in exchange for an honest review.
'Silver Moon' is book 6 & Merryn's contribution to the "Hot Moon Rising" series, as I have yet to read any of the other books in this series I wasn't sure if I was going to understand what was happening. As a follower of Merryn's work so far, I jumped at the chance to read her new book. I loved how there was a charcter list, letting you know the who & where of the characters, it made reading this new series easier to understand. Silver Ellis is in the wrong place at thewrong time, or could you say fate put her where she should be?? After a trip to checking on one of her students leads to Silver being on the wrong end of a gun, she finds herself in witness protection. After being the one taking care of the packs problems for years Kirk lives on the out skirts away from the pack, but when his alpha tells him to protect a human he's unsure why.
I enjoyed this story emensley, I couldn't stop reading, this story had me HOOKED. I can't wait to read what Merryn has coming next.

Loved it! :) Loving this new author for me in my ever growing collection. Merryn Dexter did not disappoint me and look forward to reading more of her works now. :)
This story is about Silver Ellis, caught seeing something she shouldn't have that thrusts her into Witness Protection. She's a teacher, trying to improve the lives of those that need it. She witnesses a murder and is then put under the care of a pack enforcer - a big sexy wolf! :)
Kirk Matheson is looking forward to life slowing down now that the pack is settling down with it’s rebuilding. Preferring to keep to himself now when he is suddenly asked to look after Silver.
Both do heir best to keep some distance, but his wolf knows her as his mate. Silver is a little wary of the big guy and takes time to accept him as more than just her protector. She accepts his wolf easily.
When Silver’s life is in danger, her’s there to save her, or die trying.
It’s a great story that flowed well. I can’t wait to read more of Merryn Dexter’s works and this series.

Kirk Matheson is the last line of defense for the Moonlight Pack. He has done some awful things so that they could live in peace. He isn’t ashamed but it has scarred his soul. He is a killer. That is what he does. So when his alpha changes it up on him by asking him to protect a human female Kirk is faced with a different kind of challenge and when his wolf wants to claim her, his life gets very interesting. Schoolteacher Silver Ellis witnesses a gangland shooting and Palmetto County Detective Jesse Farrell needs her safe and hidden from retribution so he asks his alpha to help out. Nobody is going to get past Kirk Matheson. Silver is a quiet loaner but she is no pushover. She may be just what Kirk needs. Though this is part of a series it can be read standalone. This is a sweet and sexy pnr that I heartily recommend.

This book was absolutely amazing, I have always loved the broken alpha male hero characters and WOW Kirk is so that and more. His history is just heartbreaking yet everything he has done was for the pack he loves. Silver is a sweet loving school teacher, she witnessed a murder and has to go into witness protection, who else but the fiercest enforcer can handle this. I love how Merryn wrote the attraction between Kirk and Silver it was beautiful, but the pain for Kirk was just so real he feels so unworthy of happiness but you the reader will know he deserves it and more. The last "scene" of the book had me bawling. I Highly recommend this book!!!

Omg! Another sizzling, sexy must read in contemporary PNR fiction! Action packed suspense & romance with hunky alpha shifters & smoking hot sexy scenes! Ms. Dexter knows how to write a unique storyline with well defined characters that will keep the reader engaged and the pages turning! ... As a fan & member of this author's book group, I was fortunate to receive an e-copy in exchange for an honest review, and I really did enjoy this & highly recommend it to all adult 18+ fans of fiction! So grab a copy now or at least add this to your TBR list :) I can't wait for more from this talented author!

A great shifter romance. When Silver tried to start over and move to Florida to teach, she thought she could reach out and help kids learn. But instead she got classroom of kids who would rather do anything illegal than learn. When she tries to do a good deed, she ends up the target of a murder in a gang. But things may get a whole lot worse when she is stuck with a angry man who just happens to be a shifter as well. Maybe her luck will change.

I was given a ARC for honest review. I loved this story. Love reading Silver and Kirk's story. The suspense and heat of novel was beautiful. I look forward to reading more by Merryn Dexter her writing is beautiful.
