Alex Hensley thought that discovering vampires existing in Sydney was as dangerous as her life could possibly get, but she was wrong. Her very survival still depends on her ability to keep the secret. Just when Alex believes she has a grip on her new life, Nicholas, the teenage son of her estranged cousin shows up unannounced and gives her a chilling note from his mother, begging for help; the boy is in grave danger.
Nicholas, though kind and mild mannered is not forthcoming and Alex senses something is dreadfully wrong. The more Alex delves, the closer she is to igniting a war more personal for her than she ever dreamed. Though she cannot turn the boy away, something perhaps even worse than vampires has been unleashed in Sydney. The vampire nation scrambles as tensions rise. Their hold over the city has never been challenged like this, and they would rather destroy Sydney than relinquish it.
How can Alex hope to protect Nick, when the entire city is under threat and Alex can warn no one?
Ideals will be shaken. Friendships will be tested. Allegiances will be questioned.
The streets of Sydney will shatter as a bloodthirsty battle, once thought to exist only in myth, rises at the full moon.
I love writing adult paranormal fiction. Vampires, werewolves, ghosts... oh my. I've been writing since I was 11 but I've always been a dreamer... often getting caught staring off into space as I created stories in my mind.
One of my stories, Night Walker (Undeadly Secrets Series Book 1), won the 2017 Golden Stake Award at the International Vampire Film and Arts Festival held in Transylvania annually. I'm still quite chuffed about walking away with it after facing some great contenders.
Currently there are 6 books in the Undeadly Secrets Series, 3 books in the Undisputed (MMA Romance) series and 2 Independents short stories plus a brand new series beginning with Owned By The Mafia, released in 2023
I'm so proud of the fact both Undisputed and Unbroken both won the same award a year apart from each other. *TOP 50 INDIE BOOKS OF THE YEAR*
My favourite activities include spending time with family, watching my beloved St George Illawarra Dragons, popping into the movies for the latest blockbusters, going to the gym for my dream body. Or just a body. Anything, really.
Speerzie... book daddy. Baby daddy x 2. Simply irresistible
In book two of the Undeadly Secrets series, Aaron L. Speer has proven that the fantastic adventure I started on in book one was far from over. His writing has pulled me in and given me the perfect escape. I finally got a somewhat firm understanding of the vampire community and now werewolves are involved and everything is up in the air. A war is coming and I’m not sure who will come out the other side alive.
This book such an amazingly entertaining paranormal read!
🌛 Battle scenes that were intense, full of action, and a bit gory 🌛 Tons of angst between not only Dante and Alex, but amongst the secondary characters as well 🌛 The introduction of Nick and his storyline. This kid was EVERYTHING!! Yeah, I cared about his family (pack) and the horror of what happened to his father, but it was Nick who was the driving force behind the drama of this story 🌛 I didn’t much care for Nicole because of the game-playing. She seemed to be a master at it, which made her unfavorable to me. However, I did like how she supported Nick, even after learning his secret, and the peace Nick got from her being in his life 🌛 The intriguing ways that Dream State was used, the controversy of the epidemic, the greed that was turning the vampire world upside down 🌛 Melina and Lauren took a huge part in things this time around and they were a blast. I still don’t have any love for them, but my tolerance of them has grown. I especially liked seeing the softer side of Melina. I hope to see more as this series progresses
At the end, I’m not sure if one of my new favorite characters is dead or alive and it’s driving me nuts!! I’ve also got some irritation towards some of the direction this story has taken. I’m no longer a fan of Michelle. She now seems weak and dependent, which isn’t how I initially saw her. I hope she finds her strength again in the next book somehow. I’m also not amused by the distance between Alex and Dante. While I’m no longer rooting for them to be together (I want her to find her happy), I don’t like that he makes her feel less than. It was obvious. After having his relationship with Michelle thrown in her face for all of the first book, and then for him to fight the whole world for her, how could Alex ever feel like she measured up? Not cute :( Ah well, there’s a new power coming to town and I can’t wait to see how the sequence of events will unfold in book three. I’m staying tuned and I hope you are too!
Release Date: May 30, 2016 Genre: Paranormal Romance POV: Multiple - 3rd person Heat: 3 out of 5 Type: Book 2 of the Undeadly Secrets series
This is book 2 in the series and they do need to be read in order. I would seriously give this book far more stars if I could.
Aaron you have well and truly done it again, how did you make book 2 better than the first? this one really has blown me away, it drew me in, kept my attention throughout the entire book and had my imagination running wild - I seriously loved every minute.
This book is full of vampires and werewolves, it's fast paced with so many unseen twists you can never predict who is going to end up where and when.
I love how we still have Dante and Alex (the girl with a boys name)! and now we get the amazing Nick and Nicole.
This is a full length read and in someways I never wanted this book to end but at the same time this meant due to the length I had to put this book down several times - which was seriously damn hard to do!
And holy hell - that ending, I'm not giving any spoilers but Aaron Speer 'WHY' ! There isn't a major cliffhanger as such but I seriously cant wait for the next book - please don't make me wait too long.
Okay. I wanted to love Day Dreamer. I didn't hate it. I'm a little confused
Strengths: The ideas are still intriguing, the writing and dialogue are improving as the series progresses. I'm still curious enough to continue with the third book and probably the fourth
Weaknesses: The flow of the story get too bogged down with the introduction of too many new characters and tangents before previous characters and major plot points are well defined. Don't get me wrong, most were interesting-ish but I felt a little lost and wondered more than once who and what the story was about. I still know next to nothing about the alleged connection between Alex and Dante. At this point I'm assuming they are the main protagonists because the blurb says so and not because they have much page time. The Aussie speak was an ongoing issue for me but I can certainly see this might be really fun for Aussies. I started using voices and accents from Hercules Returns which is my favorite movie from Oz. Whether this is a good or bad thing I have no idea, but it is entertaining me in my vague confusion about the rest
Now it’s NOT rare for me to start and finish a book in a day, but this book I wanted to read right through! I didn’t, I do need sleep, I know, I know sleep is overrated. lol I could hardly put this book down.
If you read book 1 you know… you KNOW you wanted book 2 like yesterday. So it was great that we get to dive right back in to this world. Also I am pleased to note. No repeat scenes!! No long winded recycled info from book 1 either.
We get all our old favorite characters but we get a whole cast of new favorites. We get introduced to the wolves, William Pack Master, his wife Alicia and Nick there son. Who isn’t all that keen on taking daddy-o’s place.
I fell hard for Nick; he is the mixture of innocence, protectiveness, and Alpha quality. I felt like he came into himself, not who everyone else wanted him to be but who he wanted to be. Not only that but we see him struggle with love that might not be conventional but is just as strong as any in the book.
Nicole fights her attraction, but you can only fight yourself for so long. When you have that kind of connection to another person you’re bound to break the rules at some point.
“All he wanted was to be close. So what was she so afraid of? Her reputation?” - Nicole
Nick isn’t only in a battle with Nicole but he is in a struggle with his wolf who wants to be let out but he wants Nick to accept who he is.
“She’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life. But it’s her brains and personality that drive me crazy.” – Nick
Nicole has no idea of werewolves, but Nicks wolf doesn’t care he wants her she calms but at the same time helps Nick bring him out.
I really enjoyed the interaction between Nick and Alex, almost felt siblings for me. But that she was trying to take care of him too. This made me smile.
“Nothing my arse, it looks like someone’s been tap dancing on your face.” – Alex
Oh if you’re worried we won’t see Dante rest assured you will!! The tug a war between Alex and Dante is ongoing, the chemistry and the attraction smacks you in the face but neither know how to talk about it.. I am rooting for them!
We get introduced to a wide variety of people but what I like is getting to catch up with some that were only hinted at from book 1 like Milina. She really becomes part of the story, and we can see her struggles with who she is and who she was. But also maybe who she wants to be going forward.
There are some intense battle scenes and yes they get pretty graphic. but I LOVED it. If that makes me a bit of a nut, its ok we already knew this ;)
I WANT and NEED more so, so much more the only problem reading a good book in a day is you want more. But I digress if you read till the end of this review and still haven’t bought the book what are you waiting for? Vampires and Wolves, sexy guys and hot chicks with brains, really what more could you ask for? Sexy scenes? It has them too!!
Bam! This is one of those books that will suck you in and spit you out all while taunting you, The author was able to weave this world, city, whatever you want to call it, that is full of intrigue and mystery. You will question everything you thought you knew.
Being the second book in this series we learn a lot more about the world of vampires and werewolves. I loved the take on both. It was different then other paranormal reads that I have read in the past. The detail is amazing and we don't feel confused….. Well we do, but it's for complete different reasons. That reason being that we think we know what's going to happen but we truly have no idea.
This book, while we see the cast of the first book we meet new people, mainly Nick and Nicole. Nick….. His life was never easy, we saw him grow from a boy into this incredible man that we swoon over thru the whole book. Nicole was amazing, she was open to learning new things without jumping to being scared. She was super smart and full of life. They fight feelings for each other, but it's plain to see the love. I'll leave it at that. Don't want spoilers.
I loved seeing Dante and Alex (girl with a boy name) in this book! We see a different side to both of them in this book, good and bad. We see how far Dante will go to protect those he loves. They still have me so intrigued, I don't think I will ever understand the dynamic that they are. I still love them! But Nick and Nicole kind of stole my heart in this book.
The way the author was able to pull me in, make me mad, make tears form, make me want to throw my kindle at the wall and overall make me want to become part of this world is more than then I could ever ask for. I didn't want this ride to end. I have to give the author props on how well he was able to be thorough and descriptive without it being overboard. The plot for this book was different then book one but it was all intertwined to me this a great sequel. I truly can't wait to see what's next! The author outdid himself and I feel like he will only keep getting better and better. It's so hard to believe this is only his second book!
Sometimes as a booklover you are lucky enough to come across a hidden gem. A book you've never heard of by an author you don't know. When it happens, you find yourself wondering "why isn't anyone talking about this? Why isn't this book and this author on everyone's lips?". I've been lucky enough to find 2 such authors within the last 2 months. The one I sit to write about today is Aaron L. Speer. I fell in love with Speer's work in Night Walker. Now admittedly, I am not a huge Paranormal fan; Not that I have anything against them...it just isn't my usual go to genre. But this book and yes, Dante reached out and grabbed me....and wont let go. Now sometimes, with those hidden gem authors, you will read another of their works and find the reason no one is talking about them is because they are a one hit wonder...yeah just like in the music biz...it can happen in writer land too. But the other times? The other times are F@#king amazing, because you find a whole new world opened to you....and if you're lucky.....not just one hidden gem but a whole treasure trove. Last night, I finally had the wonderful opportunity to sit down to one of Mr. Speer's other works. His soon to be released follow up to Night Walker...Yep, the second book in the Undeadly Secrets Series, Day Dreamer. Now, it should come as no surprise to you or myself that I couldn't put the book down. It sucked me in, if possible, even faster than its predecessor. The story shifts to focus on Alex's young cousin early in the book. Alex and Dante are still there, but Nick's story must take precedence for a while. Now anyone that knows me or knows of my obsession with Dante (My Vamp...so back off ;) ) might believe, this would cause me some angst, but surprisingly...it didn't, I still got to visit with Dante and Alex..even more so as the story progressed...but Nick captivated me. Not in the, oh I want to ravage him way that he has other readers; and believe me plenty of the ones I've talked to want to do that and more to the poor boy. I, however feel a little maternal when it comes to Nick. I know WTF right? But, it's true. It seems, I am loyal to book boyfriends, even of the vampire variety, lol. So, I don't think the young Nick will ever take me the floor, although believe me there were several flashes where I could see an older more mature Nick getting me there :) But still he is a beyond appealing character and reminds me quite a lot of Dante. He is exactly the kind of boy, my 16 yr old self would have tripped and fallen hard for. And even now I am tempted, but my heart has already been claimed by Dante so, I guess I will forever remain #DantesDonor. I can't say the same for my counter parts, all ages and backgrounds of them are jumping on the Nick ship like they are afraid it will leave port and be too late ;) What about the book beyond the two HAWT males? Unbelievable! Speer has outdone himself. He continues to give us actual Australian history woven into the story line. The suspense has been wound even tighter...I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat and rooting at the end. I'm sure my family probably thinks I'm insane for talking to my tablet (and screaming). The twists are even bigger than in NW. We find out there might be more than one unseen hand in the fight. Lines get murky, lines get crossed, lines get erased, and lines get redrawn. The streets of Sydney are going to shudder. Another thing that's been taken up a notch? Can you guess? The SEXiness. Speer proves once again that he is the Master of the Tease before he gives us some satisfaction. So, I find myself sitting here at almost 7am in the morning, having still to go to sleep for the "night", and still pondering the question: Why aren't more people talking about these books and this author? In this case, perhaps Dante and Nick are real after all and are protecting the knowledge of their existence by keeping the retelling of their trials and tribulations from falling into the wrong hands....only letting a select few have access? I may be a hitch in that plan....my vamp will have to accept that I am going to scream about this author and these books from the moutaintops if necessary. The names Speer, Dante, and now Nick deserve to be on the lips of people everywhere...and not just female lips....I firmly believe men can and should be enjoying this. Don't let the obsessed ladies like myself keep you from this amazing read. Read it, consume it, wallow in it.....who knows, perhaps one day, you'll meet the one and she'll be a Speer fan too...think of all the sexy conversations you could enjoy.
Amazon Version (because they are buttheads and wouldn't accept the full version)

This book continues where we left off with Alex and Dante in Nightwalker. Throughout this book we are instructed to new characters which take over the storyline like Nicholas and Nicole, who give us a new angle on this paranormal world. Nicholas is a sweet young man who trying to deal with life and new challenge while keeping secrets of his own. He is sent to Alex in order to stay safe but little does he know everything would change drastically once he meets Nicole, a intelligent and intriguing young woman trying to deal with her own life challenges. Each character new and old develops for better and worse, making you love and hate different characters. Even though the storyline starts off slow, it quickly picks up and take you on a crazy ride. At time I found myself going back and rereading certain part to make sure I didn’t miss anything. There’s a lot of different points of view so you’re pulled in all directions which can get a little wild. This makes it so you think you know where this is headed and then bam definitely not what you expected. It finished off with a cliffhanger which I’m not a big fan of and left you with more questions than answers. Overall this was an intriguing book and can’t wait to see what happens next
4 non stop goodness stars!! Who doesn’t love vampires AND werewolves?!?!
This is book two in the “Undeadly Secrets” series.
Introducing werewolves into an already crazy world was an excellent choice by this author. I actually love that aspect. You definitely have a clear line of who is the bad guy and who is the good guy. Sometimes the line gets frayed but you get the jest of things.
The first book was very gory to me and I think this book wasn’t as bad. But lots of action and craziness!! Still we found a romance among us. Alex and Dante well that’s a story for another time. I am still waiting on that one. There were so many other little fires going on that led back to one big one. It was great I think my only issue is once again it was just a little too much and could be skimmed down a little bit. But it keeps going I never got bored. What a great movie this could be. Can’t wait for the next one!!
**I received this as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
>Book Review – Day Dreamer >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 2nd in the Undeadly Secrets series and ends in a cliffhanger. This book continues the strange relationship between Dante, Alex and Michelle. Dante continues looking for the origin of the Dream potion killing humans. Alex takes in Nick, her nephew and a werewolf, though she doesn’t know this. The new romance between Nick and Nicole is a slow burn. There is so much frustration as Nick is beaten and unable to manifest his powers. The bully turns in to a REALLY bad guy, used by the paranormal community for evil. >Dante is still lukewarm in regards to Alex. Her relationship to Michelle is starting to seem really sexual, which doesn’t fit. A new entity is revealed as Matt is taken, but no explanation is given. The story has tons of action and a lot of twists. I wish the Dante/Alex romance was more fulfilling. >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 4 stars.
Book 2 in the Undeadly Secrets Series, it starts right where Night Walker left off. A pager turner full of emotions that keep you pulled on from page one. I love how well you get to know the characters, well written the story line is, and the emotions you feel by being so engrossed in this book. There is a lot going on in Day Dreamer—Secrets, deceit, love, family, and much more. Werewolves, vampires, and humans will all face the effects of the upcoming war and why it started. I recommend the Undeadly Secrets Series to everyone who loves the paranormal genre.

Okay... I just need a little time to organise my thoughts.... So much to say..... I'll get back to you ;) PROMISE :D
Day Dreamer begins where Night Walker ended.... Now, if you thought that the first bite was tasty, the second one is going to leave you positively salivating. In this second instalment, some things EVIL this way come... and I'm not just talking about the things with fangs and fur that bite, growl and go BUMP in the night. Though they are well represented here, there is a very nasty human contingent causing more than a little pain and suffering, as well. The focus of this delicious morsel moves from Alex and Dante and their various dramas, to Alex's young cousin, Nick Slade. Due to some incredibly serious problems at home, Nick finds it necessary to relocate to Australia, into the care of the cousin that he has never met, Alex Hensley. Alex, of course, welcomes Nick with open arms and an open heart. She does choose to keep Nick in the dark about the supernatural goings on in Sydney... Little does she know, young Nick has an earth shattering secret of his own. For this part of the continuing tale we will be going back to school.... Groan.... I know... I feel the same way ;) ... The thing is, an immense amount of extremely important things are going to happen to our new young hero... And a great many of them are going take place within the confines of the school grounds. As is the case for many of many of us, Nick has a few problems at school. He meets the girl of his dreams, who is kind of off limits, and a hulking bully named Miller and his right hand toady, Jason. To add icing to this delectable cake we are baking, Nick's secret is going to be unleashed in some exciting and unexpected ways. Some of them will make you laugh and some of them will make you cringe. All of them will allow Nick to take root in your heart. So much happens in this story. You will love Nick and his cheeky ways. Sometimes it's hard to believe that he is only a teenager, as he shows a depth of understanding in some situations that some adults would be hard pressed to get a handle on. At other times however, you will see the boy on the cusp of manhood, who struggles with his problems and the decisions he needs to make for himself. Not to mention those decisions concerning him that are being made around him.
Aaron has breathed life into characters who will claw their way under your skin and take up residence there... You should consider charging them rent, because once they are there... They. Just. Won't. Leave! You will feel excited and frustrated for them... You will stand up and cheer and wave pom-poms for them... You will grab your "Zombie Apocalypse" weapons and suit up. Taking your stand shoulder to shoulder with 'Team Dante', against all comers... You will look heavenward and shake your fists and curse the name Aaron L. Speer.... And when you reach the epilogue, and you read the final words in Day Dreamer, you will take a deep shuddering breath and seek out book three ....
For fucks sake. I cannot even move past my shock and awe at the execution of the climax of this novel. When a book takes you on a journey, literally making you fall in love and root for every character in their own ways, and then the ultimate payoff is as fucking amazing as the end of Daydreamer, the only thing left to say is buy it. Now. Stop reading my review, buy it, then come back and tell me how right I am.
Aaron creates a supernatural world full of so many twists and turns that you will find yourself frantically turning pages desperate for more and more.
And I mean... let's just say it, Nick is the ultimate in book boyfriends... he's so fucking sweet and just like a real guy. You can't help but want to succed. You WILL fall in love with him. Undoubtedly. But he's mine. Haha.
I could keep going... but literally you need to just take a day or two, forget your responsibilities and indulge in Daydreamer!!!
Day Dreamer is the perfect continuation of Night Walker, expanding on the depth of the Undeadly Secrets Series. As the world of Day Dreamer was tilted on its axis, I was spun on a whirlwind of intensity, emotion, and curiosity. After being exhausted on today's take of the supernatural being ignorantly softened, it's refreshing to find their true nature again, and Aaron L. Speer has defiantly given us a more traditional twist on them, as well as unique. Day Dreamer is slightly darker, more brutal, and will leave you guessing at the mysterious links between the characters. I went into it thinking I would fall more in love with the Vampire characters as I did in Night Walker, but the Werewolves won my heart. Who knows how Aaron L. Speer will twist my feeling around in its successors. Either way, my heart now belongs in the Undeadly Secrets Series, and Aaron has become my favorite Aussie.
This is the second book I have read by this author and I am still very impressed with his work. This was a fast paced ride with so much adventure and twists I didn't know what was going to happen. I was pulled in from the beginning and just didn't want to put the book down. I may have lost a few hours sleep with this one, but it was worth it. The ending was crazy and I just can't wait to see what happens next.
Alex Hensley is still adjusting to life knowing that vampires and other supernatural creatures exists. Her world is dangerous and life depends upon being able to keep secrets. When her teenage cousin Nicholas shows up unexpectedly with a note from his mother asking Alex to shelter him and keep him safe, she immediately takes him in.
Nicholas, however, has plenty of secrets of his own. The son of the old Alpha, Nick is fleeing from those that killed his father and took over the pack. He’s never Changed, and doesn’t think he has the ability. But things begin to change when he meets Nicole, the beautiful young guidance counselor at his school. For the first time, his wolf is awakening . . .and, he is more powerful than anyone could have ever expected.
War is on the horizon, and Alex is caught in the middle. Between troubles brewing between vampires and werewolves and the new vampire drug Dream State causing issues for humans as well as the supernatural, all hell is about to break loose. Will Dante be able to keep Alex and those he loves safe from enemies on all sides or will Sydney become a battleground of epic proportions?
Day Dreamer, book two in Aaron L. Speer’s Undeadly Secrets series blew me away! It’s not often that the plot of a book has the ability to throw such an unexpected twist that I am left stunned and speechless, but Day Dreamer did . . . more than once! I absolutely loved the introduction of Nicholas and the werewolves into the Undeadly Secrets world!
As if being a teenager isn’t hard enough, poor Nick must also learn to control the animal that will rise to be Alpha inside of him without harming those he cares for. I loved watching him grow and mature from a very unsure boy into one hell of a man. His relationship with Nicole truly brought on a coming of age that was phenomenal to watch.
Alex’s struggles with her role in her her new life were also heart wrenching. She’s given up all she new and yet can’t have what she wants and needs with Dante, as she is human and he is not. It’s a love story, that for now, has no happy ending. However, I feel so entrenched in it, that I can only wait and hope that the author will find a way to give Alex a happy ever after as this series continues to progress.
I just want more of these characters! While the book does not end on a cliffhanger, it gives a tease of what is to come that will leave readers reeling! Seriously, Day Dreamer will give pnr fans all the feels! It’s action packed with more unexpected twists and turns than a fun house maze. The characters are extremely well developed and have so much depth that readers experience everything they are going through. Day Dreamer is a thrill of a book and I can’t wait to catch up with these characters again to see just what Aaron L. Speer has in store for them in Shadow Chaser. 5 stars!
Book 2 in this Undeadly Secrets series, this picks up straight after book 1 so make sure you've read that first!
Another fantastic read by Aaron, in this book we are introduced into the world of the werewolf. New characters Nick and Nicole are introduced, who take over the main part of the story as we learn about Nick and his family (pack).
In his family the werewolf has run for generations, his father being the Alpha leader of the pack, except the wolf seems to have skipped a generation and at 17yrs old Nick shows no signs of being a werewolf. He has resigned himself to not being what is father is and wants, tension in the pack is brewing as they expect their King to announce who the heir is going to be. His father is holding out hope that Nick's wolf will appear, but the pack are unwilling to wait and take the pack to war. Nick is sent away by his mother to Australia, to where she has remaining family they have not seen since before Nick was born, to Australia where werewolves are not welcome.
It turns out that Alex is Nick's family! She takes him in and sends him off to school. This is where he meets Nicole, they have an instant connection, but she is reluctant as she is technically school staff and does not want to risk her career. But Nick is not one to take no for an answer, even with all his British manners, he is persistent, and the wolf inside him recognises this fact and knows this is the catalyst for who Nick will become.
Nothing is straight forward in the vampire world, and they have made a new drug called Dream State in order to let the vampires dream, but this gets out into human hands, and there are lots of deaths attributed to it. The King, Vincent, is hiding quite a big secret here!
Alex and Dante have taken a bit of a back seat in this one really, it's mostly about Nick and the werewolves, which was a fab new side to explore. Alex is not happy that Dante won't take their relationship further than her just being a blood donor, she feel inadequate to Michelle, who can no longer feed Dante. I do feel a bit sorry for Michelle in this one, she seems very lost and gets herself into trouble, which is a shame after being such a hero in the first book!! I really need Alex and Dante to get their freak on, but it's not happening in this one!!
Melina and Lauren have quite big parts to play in this book, along with Matt in a way. Matt has been cured by the werewolves and has become a hunter of the vampires. Lauren is sent to track his gang down by Julian. Melina and Dante end up working together and we get to see a different side to Melina in this one - I still don't like her though!!
The vampire and the werewolf stories cross over and mesh really well, eventually turning into one big story and an all out war!! Julian has made himself a new nasty vampire, Miller, who was one of the bullies Nick had to put up with at school - he is one nasty piece of work! Nick shows his true colours eventually and has the potential to be one hell of an Alpha! I loved how Nicole took him for what he was and did not run, but embraced his other form.
Everything is up in the air at the end of this one, with the story being able to go anywhere after that, so am very much looking forward to seeing what happens next in this series. A fabulously enjoyable read for PNR fans, highly recommended.
I had a hard time putting this book down. I had to adult today, so I couldn’t read uninterrupted, but I still plowed through this book start to finish today. It was really good! There are multiple points of views with characters introduced that get their perspective told. It jumped from character to character pretty quickly, but I still got a sense of their emotions as each layer of the story unraveled. I only wish there had been more of Alex/Dante because damn do I want them to be together! Who knows what the future holds (I’d sure as heck like to know, so on to the next book!).
There was so much action in this book. So freaking much. Like the first book, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, but for different reasons. In book one it was more the Alex and her love life thing that had me frantically reading. In this book it was more so Nick and his evolution as a character. I loved Nick’s character (and his parents, too, especially his mom). He is the ultimate male so far (other than Dante, who needs to get his emotional crap together and let certain things happen!) and I *loved* how his and Nicole’s story progressed. Yowza! It was awesome. Also his showdown with a certain character was intense and I was cheering him on while reading. He’s amaaaaazing.
So to sum things up. The book was well-written and I enjoyed it. Nick is fan-freaking-tastic (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for him alone!!). I love Dante but really hope for a HEA at some point for Alex because she’s awesome and deserves it. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! I definitely recommend books one and two.
This book has had me on one hell of a rollercoaster. Day dreamer starts where night walker left off. After the king of vamps punished Dante by poisoning the one thing he needs from Michelle, hoping he will become one of them again or die, Alex steps up and takes her place. This leaves them all in turmoil as Dante takes them home and drop's Alex off, she arrives to see a young man fast asleep on her porch. She wakes him up to find he is in fact, her cousins son he has sent for Alex to look after because there is trouble back home. While he with her he attends the school nearby and finds himself attracted to a young woman there which leads to more problems for young Nick, because he isn't the only one that has eyes for Nicola and Trent isn't a boy to be messed with. Nick simply can't keep away from Nicola because he is drawn to her she has awoken something inside of him and he won't be put off not even by Trent. I love when an author can pull you inside a book and have you all tied up in knots and this one has the ability to do that. The characters are so endearing you can't help but fall in love with them. This story left me heart broken and shouting no no it can't be. Amazing story and would highly recommend it
Nick Slade is the heir apparent to the Slade Pack. The only problem is that Nick is seventeen and hasn't shown any signs of having a wolf side. His father's unwillingness to name another successor causes a rebellion and Nick's mom ships him off to her cousin, Alex (from Nightwalker) in Australia. There Nick finds out he is a lot more than he thought he was. It just took the right woman to bring it out in him.
Book 2 of the Undeadly Secrets series, while centered on Nick and Nicole along with Nick's evolution, also furthers the story that started with book 1 and Dante and Alex. This part delves deeper into the intrigue and betrayals started by the Vampire King, Vincent and his son, Julian as well telling more about Lauren, the new vampire and Alex's ex Matt. There is a lot happening with these highly interesting characters as Vincent's machinations force them to work together. Something that is unusual for vampires and werewolves. Interwoven between the action is the budding, yet intense romance between Nick and Nicole. This is a nice long read, so settle in for a while.
Left on a bit of cliffhanger with the introduction of a new and deadly enemy coming onto the scene, this is a must read of paranormal romance lovers and a great change of pace for those that tend toward contemporary romance. Book 3, Shadow Chaser is already released so you don't have to wait to find out what happens and meet Lee.
OH WHAT A JOURNEY I thought Daydreamer was good but this takes it up a whole new level. New characters. Old characters. Two species meet and collide in an epic battle. Dante and Alex are back right where we left off in Daydreamer. Meet the Slade family. Nick set to take over his fathers position as Alpha of the wolf pack in England. Nick however does not want the position nor does he think he is able. His wolf has not shown any signs of being there Greed takes over in the pack and a series of events leads Nick being shipped to Australia to find Alex’ his family. Wolfs are banned from Australia by the Vampires. Can Nick hide his story. Nicole. Training to be a councillor. Attracted to Nick but unable to act on that attraction. Can they overcome? Battles will happen. EPIC battles. Oh my what a read. And damn if I didn’t scream at my kindle a few times. One big shock but a phenomenal read. Loved this book. Now to read bk 3. I recommend this to all Paranormal fans but do recommend reading bk 1 first.
This was a good book. It was a little slow in the beginning, but I knew that it would pick up. I am very happy that I read this book to the end. Alex and Dante are back. They are still having issue with trying to figure out how they fit in each other's lives. Alex receives a message from her cousin that she is needed to watch over her son, Nick, and Alex and her mom graciously take him in and make him a part of their family. They do not know of the secrets that surround him, but that is what will keep them safe. The drug Dream State is hot out on the streets and humans have gotten their hands on it. This will ultimately cause a clash between the vampires and the werewolves. Nick is ultimately going to have to deal with the life that he left and all that that entails. Alex and Dante will have to fight to overcome the battle that is headed towards them. All and all, I enjoyed it a lot and look forward to reading the next in the series.
I sat down and read this book in one day. Once it captured my attention, it wouldn’t loosen the hold on me until the very end. I had to know what happened. Alex is really very much the same in this book. She’s a kind and caring person. Along comes Nick and he has secrets like nobody’s business. They’re the dangerous kind too. And no matter how nice he is, he can’t deny who he is. Lots of suspense in this book, a little gore, all perfect for a horror book with the supernatural species in it. As always Dante continues to be an enigma to me. In fact, the more I read of this series, the more questions I have about him. Lauren and her plight was a surprise. How she comes out of it is even more surprising. I think I might actually like her in this book. All in all, a very captivating read!
Nick wasn’t interested in becoming the Alfa and with the werewolf gene seeming to skip a generation he’s father had to make a decision on his successor, and this was causing problems within the pac. Nick was sent to Australia as it was no longer safe for him, with his father being killed and the werewolf gene skipping a generation. Nick has an instant attraction to Nicole and so does the wolf that has been waiting to come out. Both Nick and his wolf have the same desire to protect Nicole and will go to any lengths to ensure her safety. Your kept intrigued with the changes in leadership, watching enemies become allies, and Nick and Nicole’s relationship. With the ending I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.
I jumped into book 2 of the Undeadly Secrets ready for action and it delivered with a punch. New characters in the form of werewolves have invaded the fantasy universe Aaron L Speers has created.
I'm not a regular PNR reader, but trust my friends when they tell me I need to read an author or book. I'm glad I listened because without their recommendations I would have missed out on this amazing author and this series. The author does a fantastic job of painting the picture keeping the pages turning as well as keeping me from sleeping.
The characters stick with you to the point of me having my own dreams starring Dante, the protective vampire with a heart of gold.
I look forward to picking up book 3 and reading more from Mr Speer, who has quickly become a go to author for me.
I was very impressed with the first book, Night Walker, but this, Day Dreamer, takes it to a whole new level! There's a whole new cast of players in this book. Some good, some bad and some a whole lot of evil, that totally blew my mind! Still Dante battles on against the forces of evil...then Nicholas shows up and adds a huge, boulder sized, spanner into the works. Aaron L Speer has managed to keep this whole story fresh, with new characters, fantastic twists that you just start to figure out, when you discover you're nowhere near where you thought you were in guessing what would happen next. Spellbinding!
Any preconceived ideas I may of had about PNR and in particular Vampires and Werewolves have been well and truly blown out of the water by this author and this series. And it just gets better. It is truly blowing my mind! Day Dreamer is Book Two in the Undeadly Series and kicks off where Nightwalker finished and is just as fast paced. I don't think my heart rate has had chance to slow down! This series has grabbed hold of me and won't let go. There is so much going on but not too much that you lose the characters in it as new ones get added to the whole volatile mix! Oh it's going to get even measure!
"She had just endured several weeks discovering the exisitnace of vampires and warewolves. Then ...Nick." (377)
I would like to thank Aaron L. Speer for providing me a copy of this book.
I found this book a great read, however I sometimes found it took a long time to switch stories, meaning that you were constantly forgetting plot elements. Even though I never read the first book, I still really understood what was going on and fully understand. Even though it was a fantasy book, It was still believable.
This book was a quick read as a read it in a couple of hours!
“A force is gathering. Something is coming. Unseen and unheard, but it’s coming after us.”
****4 enemies banding together stars****
Book two of the Undeadly Secrets, Day Dreamer follows up and answers all the questions left from book one, Night Walker. A ton of information is given; twisting and connecting these stories together. Night Walker walked us through the vampire tale while Day Dreamer gives in-site into the werewolf community. Even the shifter communities have good and bad members. When vampires and werewolves actually band together for the greater good; lots of things can happen! A very enjoyable read...with a little cliffhanger...omg! I’m hoping to learn more about Nick & Nicole in Shadow Chaser!
