Very similar to Five on a Treasure Island- the 5 are camping on Kirrin Island when a huge storm throws up the wreck of a ship containing... GOLD INGOTS!!! These however were not lost a hundred years ago, and the crooks that stole the gold have been recently released from prison! The 5 track the crooks and the gold, which ends in an amusing incident involving a well!
Found it bizarre that they made no casual reference to the LAST time a storm threw up a wreck on Kirrin Island, but hey! It also appears that Uncle Quentin has done some work to shore the Island up against storms, and the cave from *Run Away* seems to have vanished😢
Good fun if not quite the same feeling as the originals

Always cool to find a story you haven’t read from a series from your childhood. Was similar to the first of the Famous Five series but still a good story.
