Amazon Escape: A Story of Survival in an Unknown Jungle

Rate this book
The Amazon and its many tributaries, together with the surrounding tropical forest, take up an area larger than Europe. Little light penetrates the dense jungle; even the Amazonian Indians do not venture too far into it from their riverbank settlements. In the '30s, during an attempt at the first solo flight across this river basin, aviator Jim Rushing crash-landed his light monoplane into a mountainside. Although unhurt, he was faced with a 200-mile struggle back to the nearest town. There followed a series of exciting and often dangerous adventures as Jim trekked back to civilization. . .
