Fandom: Harry Potter -------------------------------------------------- The escape of Peter Pettigrew leaves a deeper mark on his character than anyone expected, then comes the Goblet of Fire and the chance of a quiet year to improve himself, but Harry Potter and the Quiet Revision Year was never going to last long. A more mature, darker Harry, bearing the effects of 11 years of virtual solitude. GoF AU. There will be romance... eventually.
Well, what to say? This book started out good enough, and I liked the fact that the author was taking his/her time and nor rushing things. But, it changed. Even with the massive amount of word count, there are some parts that in my opinion are rushed. And at some points, the feeling of this book was so different from the beginning that it felt like I was reading another story. Though this might happen in every book that has over half a million words. This book was good, but it wasn't something that I really enjoy.
This rating is for the original. I didn’t write a review for some reason. I completed this.
December 2021 Review: Remastered version 1 star
The "remastered" version is worse in every way. There seems to be even more errors than in the original. Most of them is because the remastered version is just the original copy and pasted with some sentences poorly cropped out. It looks like it diverges so that the author can include more angst and relationship drama. It looks like it’s going to be much longer than the original despite the original being longer than it needed to be already.
The ending was so so beautiful and the plot was so well done. The stories and characters interweaved and grew and while the protagonist was morally grey, it was still an amazing and intriguing story.
I would say one of my favorite Gray Harry fanfics. It is a bit angsty but has some excellent humor. If you read this I'd recommend reading A Taste of Ismenian Water it is a second or alternate epilog.
