Wow!!!!! The anticipation leading up to Anita and Richard was amazing!

Amazingly beautiful storyline that flows so well to the next and characters that come to life.

For me this was my first of her books and even with all the issues in on (too much sexual stuff and I have a medium tolerance for it—when its unexpected— when I actually want it sure bring it on.)
I still like to come back after a couple of years and re-read it. Classic Anita Blake
at her finest when she kicked everyone and everything's ass while still caring about her friends instead of riding the preachy train the character is on lately.
Come on author how about a new series: Anita Blake Classic were she hunts down monsters and is an a amateur detective again? That would make me really happy.
That's probably not going to happen as I don't think Hamilton cares. 😮💨 But if she does, then am glad I asked.
Do correct me if I'm wrong and lead me to fiction goodness if she's already done so.
Books are AWFUL the past couple of years and even worse this year. Something to read that won't make me want to toss it away due to bad writing riddled with mistakes and filled with melodramatic deck.
Bring classic Anita back please? I love your older books and crave getting lost in her adventures.

To summarize: Graphic rape/corpses/torture described in either one or both books; the first is a Jean Claude book, and the 2nd is a Richard book. I preferred #7 because Jean Claude is just more like-able a character than Richard is.
Anita is less of a rude git in these, she's less selfish, learning to control some of her issues, and becoming less a prude - Unfortunately I know how these end up and I really wish that she could have managed to lose some of her judgmental attitude and prudishness without needing to go to the other extreme. We're currently at one actual sex scene a book, starting at... book#6 I think it was?
I should make that a running tally.

Hamilton really hit her stride here, if she Included Obsidian butterfly in this compendium it would be probably the best trilogy shy of Tolkien.

August 9, 2012This was a very good book. It had very intence moments. I love the varioty of creatures that are in this stories. I would suggest this to people that read Twighlight.
