Geoff Johns originally hails from Detroit, Michigan. He attended Michigan State University, where he earned a degree in Media Arts and Film. He moved to Los Angeles in the late 1990s in search of work within the film industry. Through perseverance, Geoff ended up as the assistant to Richard Donner, working on Conspiracy Theory and Lethal Weapon 4. During that time, he also began his comics career writing Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. and JSA (co-written with David S. Goyer) for DC Comics. He worked with Richard Donner for four years, leaving the company to pursue writing full-time.

His first comics assignments led to a critically acclaimed five-year run on the The Flash. Since then, he has quickly become one of the most popular and prolific comics writers today, working on such titles including a highly successful re-imagining of Green Lantern, Action Comics (co-written with Richard Donner), Teen Titans, Justice Society of America, Infinite Crisis and the experimental breakout hit series 52 for DC with Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka and Mark Waid. Geoff received the Wizard Fan Award for Breakout Talent of 2002 and Writer of the Year for 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 as well as the CBG Writer of the Year 2003 thru 2005, 2007 and CBG Best Comic Book Series for JSA 2001 thru 2005. Geoff also developed BLADE: THE SERIES with David S. Goyer, as well as penned the acclaimed “Legion” episode of SMALLVILLE. He also served as staff writer for the fourth season of ROBOT CHICKEN.

Geoff recently became a New York Times Bestselling author with the graphic novel Superman: Brainiac with art by Gary Frank.

Those who aspire to godhood must face the few mortals who will shed their blood in defiance of a final dream; once dreamt none will wake. A child is born - atavistic of the nullity that tides over all realities - with final ebb (sorry for getting carried away)! On a much lighter note: really good ending to this story line!

I had quit reading most of the DC and Marvel comics several years ago. But I have slowly got pulled back in within the last couple of months. Mostly Deathstroke and Suicide Squad. A 3rd book was the Justice League. I had ordered and read Justice League, Vol. 1 Origin by Geoff Johns and loved it. I was going to take my sweet time and slowly catch up on that series by reading these collections. Well, DC changed my plans with their new relaunch effort on their titles called "Rebirth". I figured I would read the last issue or two of Justice League (2011-) just to see how it ended. Man, big mistake. Lots of things I missed out on. I loved the issue and wished I had read all the ones prior to that. I also read issue #51 Justice League (2011-) #51 by Dan Abnett and liked it as well.

So, I went to Amazon and order 3 collections to cover the last 12 issues or so to fully catch up on the whole Darkseid War and the events leading up to #50 and #51.
Justice League, Vol. 7 The Darkseid War, Part 1 by Geoff Johns Justice League Vol. 8 Darkseid War Part 2 by Geoff Johns * to be delivered on 27 Sept
Justice League Darkseid War Power of the Gods by Francis Manapul

I recalled reading the VERY first issues of the Justice League way back in the early 60's. Oh yeah. Marvel and DC each have way too many titles, but by reading the Justice League I can keep tabs on their major players.

Grail has control of the Anti-Life Equation and she’s found a vessel to wield it - Steve Trevor! Now she has a new goal to destroy the Justice League!

Another action-packed issue that has powers flying around like snowflakes in a blizzard! But beyond that there is also a lot of personal drama and redemption in this issue. We see a number of Leaguers facing some personal issues and having to reconcile them with the actions they must take to save their teammates and the rest of the universe!

I kind of felt that the remaining members of the Crime Syndicate got a little side-lined in the issue, but then with so many characters already floating around in the action, maybe some needed to be put aside. Early in the story they were such a major part that to see them reduced in the finale was a little disappointing.

The end of the issue spends a lot of time setting up storylines for the “Rebirth” reboot. Johns sets up several characters for their upcoming stories. I suppose this was a good idea to give fans a little seed of the reboot stories to keep them around. I admit that it’s sparked some interest in me.

A solid ending to this epic story. Probably something most comic fans would enjoy!

A lot of great moments in here, true heroism that pays off for those willing to sacrifice. Glad this issue laid the seeds for whats to come for some of the league.. long lost twins.. arch nemesis revamped.. and a new on coming threat that I am not sure I can predict. Upwords and Onwords from DC Comics here on out.

Pfff, this whole arc was so confusing for me. The first thing I will say is, finally Batman is out of the chair! I gave this a 4 because it wraps up all of the Darksied Wars threads, but then leaves you hanging. You gotta get Rebirth July 7, 2016

Just here for Jessica Cruz (and Wonder Woman).

Hell, yes. That was a good moment.

I really don't know what I think of this event overall just yet but the finale gets high marks for its art, its big 'oh my!' moments, and the implications for the future and its ties to Rebirth.

This is a decent ending. I’m not a huge fan of the three Jokers idea though.

A really quite enjoyable end. Loved seeing the League really fight together again, Barda's back with the Furies, Jessica Cruz's issues are kinda resolved, Darkseid's dealt with, the Crime Syndicate is apparently dealt with for good? Although we'll see how that turns out. And Wonder Woman has a brother? Interesting. Also some really good set-ups for Superman #52 and DC Rebirth. All in all, a good end to a mixed quality series.

Well this was a mistake. I didn't understand a lot of this, but at least I get the 3 Jokers thing now so that's something.

This was a fantastic end to the series, I enjoyed it very much. I'm going to read the rest of this arc in Rebirth now.

To be fair, I didn't read any of the preceding comics in this series. I just jumped in on this final edition because I was told it would be beneficial before enjoying DC Universe: Rebirth (2016) #1. In doing so, it really felt like I was plummeting into the middle of a convoluted superhero story. Come to find out, I was plummeting into the tail-end of a convoluted superhero story.

There are a few cool reveals that I was able to follow. Hopefully those are the informational bits I need to enjoy the start of a new DC Universe. I'm glad I took the time to read it.

A lot of handwavey super extra hiper powered stuff happened. I didn't get any of it.
Why was this marked as recommended reading before the DC Rebirth, I'll never know

This is the end of a series and the Rebirth series says you should read this before starting the Rebirth series. I didn't find it helpful or interesting to read this comic.
