Jeff Pritchard has been in prison for five years and his sister Emma is overjoyed when she finds out he’s coming home. The Hardy family bends over backward to make sure Jeff feels comfortable, but when a simple job results in Finn being hurt the recent family addition falls through the cracks. Emma is beside herself as she tries to juggle a baby and Finn’s recovery, so Finn’s brother James suggests the small family move into his house so Emma can get the help she so desperately needs. James is determined to find the individual responsible for hurting his family and his wife is worried he’s becoming obsessed. Emma is determined to take care of her future husband and make Jeff’s recent release seamless, even when it becomes obvious he’s hiding something. With clues piling up, the Hardys realize that the key to the present lies in the past – and more specifically with Emma’s mother. After the Hardys put her away for life, Sheila Archibald is in no mood to help. Emma has no choice but to play her game and open herself up if she wants answers. When the final battle comes, Emma has to decide if she trusts her brother. And Jeff? He has to decide if he still believes in family. A rough upbringing has jaded him, but the Hardys might provide the hope he’s been looking for his entire life. Now he just has to survive to see if Emma is right and dreams really do come true.
The Hardy's did it again! Love the way they interact and care about each other. Enjoy seeing Emma find her voice Peter is amazing and love how he is such a great mentor to James!
Jeff is being released and Emma's on tenterhooks wanting everything to be perfect for his release. She's struggling to make time for Finn while hovering over Jeff.
James takes a simple driving job on for a new client which he allocates to Finn thinking it would give Emma the opportunity to spend time one on one with each of the men in her life. But the first night there's a shooting, the client is dead, his wife's life is hanging in the balance and Finn takes a bullet while trying to rescue them.
I have read each book in this series and each one was as good as the first one. They are full of mystery, sexy yet funny and lovable characters. I hope Ms. Hart writes 20 more
Emma's brother is finally out of jail and she is excited finally to be reunited with Jeff again and to introduce him to her fiance and new baby boy, but when Finn is injured at work things start to spiral out of control quickly and the Hardy's need to work together to sort this puzzling mystery out.
I really have trouble picking a favourite in this series all of the Hardy's and their other halves are freakin awesome but this story focuses on Emma and Finn. Emma is the strongest of them all, quiet sweet and pure magic with a tough streak a mile wide....lol and everyone see's Emma in a new light when Finn is injured....lol her strength comes out in volcanic proportions.
Finn the youngest of the Hardy brothers, loves his soon to be wife beyond words and will do anything for Emma and his son. Finn is the quiet calm brother he really is the glue that holds them all together so when Finn is injured everything starts going to pot beginning with James...lol and then they begin to topple like dominoes until they all snap out of it.
Mandy finds a way to snap James out of it, Emma finds her inner strength to care for Finn, look after Avery and give Jeff attention to she also knows when to ask for help as well.
Sophia and Grady bring Peter into help and Jake and Ally are on baby sitting duty which makes Ally the happiest camper in the Hardy clan....lol
Another brilliant, quirky, thrilling Hardy Brothers Mystery.
Lily Harper Hart can basically do no wrong in my eyes. This book focused on Emma and Finn, but it seemed to be pretty balanced among the other couples as well which I always enjoy. Emma's brother was finally released from prison, and I thought that was a really interesting development. I loved that Peter played a role in this story as well. This story also seemed to bring some closure to the whole Lance Pritchard debacle, which was well-done in my opinion. Another great installment!
Awesome story! Can't wait for the next. Great add to the series! Keeps getting better and better! These guys are hilarious, emotional and fun of twist and turns!
