Isabel Beachwood just lost her dream job. Now she’s forced to move out of her precious Victorian apartment, and in with her stepsister, bringing back ugly memories of a painful childhood.
Ty Griffin is a financial magnate who deals in multi-million dollar mergers and acquisitions. His bespoke suits can’t hide a body worthy of a professional athlete. Those intense azure eyes telegraph a keen intellect. And his mouth, the only soft thing about him, is sinfully sensual. But his drive to succeed has all but obliterated any chance for a personal life.
Isabel is surprised when, during her moving sale, none other than the white-hot Ty Griffin, CEO of Grandin Financial, buys her prized Carmel-by-the-Sea table. When she finds out he’s part of the reason she lost her job, her apartment, and her adorable table, she’s incensed.
The moment Ty meets the voluptuous and challenging Isabel Beachwood, he’s completely enthralled. He’s the kind of man who’s used to getting what he wants. And he wants Isabel.
While their steamy relationship heats up, an insidious danger seems to be shadowing them. It’s a treacherous threat that could ruin everything. Soon Ty and Isabel are dealing with an over-protective stepsister, a highly trained German Shepherd, a pain in the butt Welsh Corgi, a jealous gold-digger, an obsessed suitor, a former lover, and Isabel’s quirky tech colleagues. All of which turn out to be the least of their problems.
I love romantic fiction. Any kind of romantic fiction, whether it be historical, contemporary, fantasy, erotic - you name it. What's not to love about a swoon-worthy hero and a spunky heroine plagued by all sorts of conflicts keeping them apart, until it all works out and they live happily ever after? For the most part.
My first book, Closed Set, was published in June 2014. I am currently working on my second book. It definitely has a very swoon-worthy hero and an unforgettable heroine. Stay tuned for more info!

This was my second book by this author and I enjoyed it. Ms. Harlow creates original and likable heroines. I really liked Isabel Beachwood. She wasn’t cookie cutter and I connected with her quickly. Her negative body image and insecurities are based on a childhood of bullying and being told she’s worthless. This was really well done. Ms. Harlow presents it in such a way that made Isabel real, relate-able and also endearing.
Then there's Ty Griffin. Isabel's opposite in many ways. While she's not a push over, Ty's sexy, confidant and commanding where Isabel is shy, sometimes insecure or unsure. They are also at different points in their lives with Isabel finding her way in the world, while Ty has the world by it's horns. And when he sets his sights on Isabel, he goes after her.
There is some suspense and danger, as well as ups and downs for Isabel and Ty. Their story was one of love and trust, and finding yourself while falling in love. I also really liked the secondary characters, especially Isabel's dog, he stole the show. Overall, this is well-written and had me invested in seeing the romance and the unfolding story.
** ARC generously provided by author in exchange for an honest review.**
Oh goodness, this was terrible. I had to read it in a pretentious, posh voice in order to dull down my annoyance and replace it with slight amusement. I don't even know where to start with how unbelievable the entire story line is.
We have Isabel Beachwood, a "plus-size" 25 year-old app developer, who's been let go from her dream job in a corporate merger thing. Ty Griffin's the mega-rich CEO of the company behind the reason Isabel's job-less. You with me so far? This sounds alright, right? I mean, it's nothing super original, but I happen to be a huge fan of stories where the characters HATE each other at first and grow to like one another. Unfortunately, All Tyed Up was not a story I'm a huge fan of.
If I had to describe this book in one word: Vapid. All the brand-name dropping was exhausting. I have nothing against people having nice things. But do I care about reading descriptions of each and every outfit Isabel wore? The accessories she paired it with? How she did her makeup? Do I care about the flavours of tawny port? Do I care about the year that the Chardonnay her college fuck buddy ordered for her was bottled? Do I care that Isabel's stepsisters stove is a six-burner Wolf gas restaurant range? THE ANSWER IS NO. NO I MOST CERTAINLY DO NOT CARE. If the purpose of this was to emphasize how the other 1% of the general population in the mega-upper-class live, I HONESTLY WANT NO PART OF IT BECAUSE IT WAS HELLA TEDIOUS.
The characters and their interactions had me rolling my eyes and cringing. I was torn between wanting to DNF this and wanting to continue reading in the hopes that there would be some redeeming quality.
The narration was cool. It was third person, but there were all sorts of shifts in perspective. There's focus on Isabel and Ty, obviously, but also perspective from dogs and random minor characters, which I thought was a unique addition. However, with the added "mysterious" element, the omniscient narration kinda just ruined the suspense, you know? Like sometimes it's cool to know stuff the main characters don't know because it has you on the edge of your seat wanting to get to the point where the main characters realize what's going on. In this case, the main characters were so oblivious to everything outside of banging each other, they didn't realize shit, so it just kind of ruined the effect.
I also really liked the descriptions of the tech industry, I mean a lot of the descriptions felt very textbook and stilted, they weren't incorporated in the most "natural" way, but I found the tech stuff interesting nonetheless.
I think this book tried to be body-positive by incorporating a plus-size female character. But for one, Isabel wasn't comfortable with her body until a man came along and made her feel attractive. Second, she's plus-size in the loosest sense of the word; the number of times her tiny waist (/small waist/little waist) is described is truly unbelievable. Isabel is "big" in all the right places - her chest and her ass. Like really? This isn't inclusive. It's just another form of idealization. But I digress. Thirdly, I'm pretty sure I can count on one hand the number of interactions that didn't bring up Isabel's body. It literally defined who she was. So is this a book that promotes body positivity? In my opinion? Heck no.
I don't mean for this review to come across as harsh and negative, I personally did not enjoy this story at all. But I can see the appeal, I would have probably thoroughly enjoyed it had I read it when I was younger. Sorry if this is a very informal, vague, and unhelpful review.
All Tyed Up by Julia Harlow a fab four star read. This is the first book by this author I have read, and I really hope it’s not the last. This book was great, I was sad when it ended as I could have read another couple of hundred pages, I really hope we get to see more about some of the characters in this book. There were a couple of niggles as I was reading, but you get that in most books, but overall I loved the passion, as they say it’s a fine line between love and hate. One of the best things about this book was that its told from multiple POV’s some of whom will have you giggling, the detail in the book is overall great, but occasionally can get a little much. The story has some amazing twists and will keep you guessing at every turn. Isabel Beachwood’s life has just fallen apart she has lost her job and now is losing her home, she is being forced to move in with her step sister Ellen who is thankfully nicer to her than Cinderella’s were. Along with trying to get her life back on track Isabel is forced to sell some of her stuff including a table, that leads to an amazing meet cute and some great hiccups including one including the table meeting when it turns out the guy who bought a table is the man who turned he life upside down. Tye Griffin is the man behind the company that deals with million dollar acquisitions, including the acquisition behind Isabel losing her job, he has never been bothered before, but when his sister does him a favour and finds a table for him for a new house he is looking to make just right, the rug is pulled from beneath his feet. As he gets more than a table when he goes to buy.
Julia Harlow managed to write another 5 star book with All Tyed Up! I’ve been a big fan of her work in the past and this book solidified that fact. I absolutely love her writing style and was definitely not disappointed with this one. I was looking forward to reading this book and I was beyond pleased with the result. Julia always manages to surprise me with the unexpected twists in her storylines, I love reading her work and I would highly recommend this book!
Isabel Beachwood is a young woman who had everything she ever dreamed of, or so she thought. Her world is turned upside down after losing her job, having to sell her house, and having to sell her prized possessions. But just as she thinks she’s lost it all Ty Griffin walks into her life. After a quick encounter he can’t seem to get her out of his head, he’s used to women falling at his feet and trying to please him but she did no such thing. She instantly intrigues him and he goes out of his way to spend more time with her. But Isabel has many walls up that he’ll need to break through to earn her trust. Isabel has incredibly low self-esteem as she was bullied as a young girl, which has really affected the women she is today; and those insecurities hold her back in relationships. Ty is a man who constantly has women vying for his attention but Isabel is the only one he wants but will she learn to get over her insecurities or will her past ruin her chance at love?
All Tyed Up is a story told with an incredibly amount of detail, as is Julia’s style. Everything is so perfectly described, from the characters wardrobe, to the food, to the scenery, etc. it makes for a fun read as you can easily visualize everything that’s going on. Julia has this great ability of writing from multiple characters POV in a way that makes sense and flows perfectly. Having those multiple POV’s really adds to the story. I love that Isabel and Ty would normally be an unlikely match but they really fit and I loved reading their story. I look forward to reading more of Julia’s work in the future!!
Isabel Beachwood has just lost her dream job and now because expenses are limited she has to move out of her beautiful apartment and move in with step-sister Ellen. But unbeknown to her, the person who buys her beloved Carmel-by-the-sea is part of the reason she has lost her job, it’s none other than CEO of Grandin financial Ty Griffin.
Ty’s dedication to his works has successfully obliterated any chance of him having a personal life. That is until he meets the challenging and voluptuous Isabel he is completely and utterly enthralled and being the type of guy he is he always gets what he wants and he wants Isabel. While their relationship continues to grow and really starts to heat up, a danger that’s been shadowing them could be about to ruin everything, they thought the overbearing Stepsister, a very protective German Shepard, an obsessed suitor and a former lover was the least of their issues. But somethings just won’t die, especially the past and boy can it be murder.
All Tyed Up is a standalone from author Julia Harlow. This is my second book from this author, and I cannot wait to see what else this author can bring us with her other books.
This book did take me a little while to truly hook me. I was getting a little confused for a while when there was various different POV’s to read from and sometimes not having a title of who’s POV it was lost me at some points and it took a second for me to get who POV it was but still this book managed to thoroughly hook me. I liked reading about different moments in time from the other characters POV as we also found out their feelings about the current situations going on.
This book had various themes throughout it from love, suspense and action and had a great deal of emotions from the characters that as the reader I could truly feel, such as; angst, jealousy, love, passion and heartache. I’ve laughed, smiled, been sad and most of all shocked. This book had some great scene between these two main characters and I loved reading their interactions with each other. I liked how they met, the time they spent together and how they quickly became in sync with each other. I liked the vibe that Isabel gave off towards Ty and didn’t treat him as other normally would which I think made her stand out to him even more. These two had a real romance that even though it was over a short period of time, it never felt rushed. These characters have an undeniable connection that was passionate, and heated inside and outside the bedroom.
This book also faces some emotions that some people face on a daily basis such as how Isabel views herself and believes in the negative things she has been told through her life. The suspenseful feel too this book I felt throughout, I kind of always expected something to happen, and that it was brewing under the surface, but when something did happen I was shocked and it wasn’t in the way I expected it. Julia Harlow really knows how to keep you on your toes.
Along with our two main characters there are many secondary characters that stand out in this book and I’d love to read more of her story and that’s Ellen. You get an insight to her character in this book, about her and Isabel’s backstory, but I’d love to see it from Ellen’s POV of their history and the present book and now Ellen’s future.
Isabel is beautiful woman inside and out. If only she believed it. Losing her job put her in a position trying to figure out where life would take her now. What she never expected was to meet the guy that was one of the reasons she could have lost her job. Ty breezed into her life and made the biggest impact not even she expected. He smashed through her walls and really tried hard to make her believe everything that was good about her. She is smart, beautiful, curvy in all the right places, determined, independent, classy and unforgettable to all, and the journey she is about to take will prove even as years pass, the past will always make an impact on the future.
Ty Griffin is the CEO that everyone wants to get their claws into. With his incredible Azure Eyes and the body of an athlete. Ty never wanted or had the time for a personal life, but he was about to be made speechless and completely enthralled by Isabel. She response to him in a way no other females do, she sees a different side to him and he gives her a side no one ever see’s. But he never expected to fall so quickly. He is intelligent, witty protective, loving, kind, generous and complexly smitten with Isabel and will do anything to prove how beautiful she is in every way possible. But he also never expected Isabel’s past to come back and put a wedge between them, could everything be over before it begins, or will Ty show her everything they can be…together?
I’m so glad that these two characters get a HEA, and hope this isn’t the last we see of all these characters. This book was a brilliant story of love, passion and ups & downs but ultimately undeniable love!
All Tyed Up is a superb story by Julia Harlow. It is a contemporary romance, with an enemies to lovers factor- as well as plenty of suspense, mystery and drama. Isabel Beachwood had a very routine, reliable, predictable and comfortable life. She had worked hard to get where she was and at 25 years old she had her dream home and her dream job, and had finally reached a point in her life where she was beginning to cast off a lot of the baggage and pain from her past. But her world turns upside down when the company she works for is sold and she loses her job. Having no job means she can’t afford her beautiful Victorian apartment that she loves so much and will have to give it up and move in with her stepsister, Ellen, who is responsible for a good portion of Isabel’s painful childhood memories. At least she still has her beloved German Shepherd, Pilot. Part of her moving process involves getting rid of a lot of her possessions, as she won’t have the room to store them, and she could really do with some funds to tide her over till she finds a new job. So she put up an ad for the furniture and gets ready to move. Her favourite piece of furniture is a beautiful antique table that she brought in Carmel by-the-sea and it is the one piece she will miss the most. It is a gorgeous piece and she isn’t surprised when it sells quickly. When the man arrives to pick it up, it turns out to be none other than Ty Griffin- the CEO of Grandin Financial, the company who effectively cost her her job. Isabel is livid with him and also annoyed that this isn’t the last time she will have to deal with him. Ty Griffin is at the pinnacle of a very lucrative and successful career in the mergers and acquisitions sector. He is very driven and hardworking- having focused on his career for so long, he now feels like something is missing from his life. When he lays eyes on Isabel, she makes him want more from his life. He wants her and will go to great lengths to make her his. He just needs a way to convince Isabel to give them a chance, and to prove to her that he isn’t the tyrant that she thinks he is. As Ty works on winning her over, they have to contend with an overly cautious stepsister, her protective and highly trained dog, a crazy Corgi, a jealous rival, a stalker and so much more….. Danger seems to be hunting them and threatens to destroy them and their blossoming relationship. What happens then when her past comes back to wreak havoc in her life?
This is such a wonderfully detailed and beautifully descriptive story. The storyline was quite complex and multilayered, which Ms. Harlow handled incredibly well. The whole thing flowed smoothly and there were no lags or disruptions that one may expect from having so many facets to the story. She deftly pulled all the elements of the story together and had them tied up by the end. She kept the suspense and tension flowing the whole way through, adding just enough twists to keep me guessing right up till the end.
What a fantastic read from Julia Harlow, brand new author to me that has gone straight on to my to be stalked list. I was in love with Julia's story telling from the very first chapter, the way she told the story from a third person POV but also had little random points of view from smaller characters I especially liked Pilots of queenie!
Isabel beachwood is a 25 year old app tech that spends most her time either at work or going long tiring walks with her dog Pilot, he is her best friend and protector and her main joy in life. After finding out she is due to be paid off from her dream job which in turns means loosing her dream home she is forced to sell of some of her precious treasures and move in with her once stepsister. A listing she places on Craigslist for her amazing Carmel table brings Ty Griffin knocking at her door when he leaves he takes not only the table but a little piece of interest from Isabel's usually shy and guarded heart.
Ty Griffin handsome CEO of Gradin Financial Corporation meets Isabel and is instantly hit with a sense of peace that he feels just from being a round her and knows no matter what he has to make her his woman. But the usually confident Ty finds himself at a loss as of what to do ,he isn't usually so nervous and vulnerable with woman and keeps putting his foot in it whenever they meet it just keeps getting worse. Isabel didn't have the best time growing up she had to endure many years bullying from her stepsisters and stepdad for her bigger than beanpole body size that still effects her deeply till this day and has never felt she was attractive or anything more than ordinary but Ty quickly squashed these memories and reinforced how beautiful she is and how precious a part of his life she has became!
Life as usually can never see anyone happy and Isabel and Ty are no different especially with exs and a evil stepdad popping back up but these events only push this amazing couple together more rather than drag them apart! The love and support they show each other is lovely to witness and I cheered them on all the way to the end.
I'm so glad I discovered this amazing series and I can't wait to hopefully read more fantastic books from Julia Harlow easiest 5 stars I've given!
All tyed up is a novel by Julia Harlow and follow the rollercoaster romance of Ty and Isabel. Will the Financial wiz by able to capture the heart of Isabel or will his position within the company stop her from truly loving him.
The book opens with Isabel selling her antiques as she has recently lost her job and is having to move from the Victorian house she is renting and move in with her step sister in her apartment. As she answers the door to meet the guy who has shown interest in her Carmel table she is struck by how handsome this man is, as the conversation goes on he offers her what she wanted for the table but he only has $500.00 and she has no change to give him. Being the gentleman he is he tells her to keep the change but being the stubborn woman she is she arranges to give him the $50.00 change the next day.
Ty is blown away by how beautiful this woman is, she is not his usual type of woman which makes this all the more intriguing. After he gave her his business card to drop his change off the next day he was thinking and wishing to meet this woman again. But Isabel has her own problems when she read the card she realises that the man is only the CEO of the company who has brought her original work out and has sacked her under the stupid rule last in first out.
As the story goes on you get to see this hunk of a man full for the beautiful, sassy and strong woman in Isabel. You get to understand the doubts which Isabel faces and that she has body confidence issues but Ty is slowly breaking them down. The only down side I had with the book is the story flits from story to sub story and at some parts I was wondering if I was reading a different book.
I loved the characters of Ty and Isabel and enjoyed them happily ever after, this is the second book I have read by this author and would love to read more in the future.
All Tyed Up by Julia Harlow is a romantic suspense/mystery novel that I gave 4 out of 5 stars. It is written in third person point of view, and is a stand-alone novel. I must say that the blend of romance (all the heat & sexy) blended with mystery & suspense made for an enthralling read! Isabel Beachwood is a stunning independent woman who loved her life. Until it all went away….starting with her dream job. She is forced to leave her charming apartment & move back in with her step-sister, to a place that brings back bad memories. Downsizing comes with letting stuff go, and it’s at the moving sale where she meets HIM.
Tye Griffin…hot…charming….CEO of a huge corporation. His goal in life is to be the best in his field, and he will do anything to succeed. He is a man who knows what he wants, and stops at nothing until he acquires it. After getting a tip about the moving sale, he stops by to check out certain table. He didn’t count on HER. One look, the desire, the instant chemistry-he knew Isabel would become his. The attraction is mutual, but Isabel had no clue the part he played in the loss of her career. Absolutely furious doesn’t cover it, when she learns the truth. But where there is hate, there is love. They can’t stay away from each other, and become involved. But fate isn’t done yet, and there is imminent danger lurking in the shadows threatening their love-and their lives. Will they survive to see a future together?
Really loved the characters in this novel, very well written with loads of depth. Isabel is strong and sassy. Tye is sweet and demanding. This was a fast paced read from start to finish, and the suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat! This was so hot & edgy, yet also hilarious at times. Loved the banter between these two. This is my first book by Julia Harlow, and I look forward to reading more!
All Tyed up by Julia Harlow is a loving story of two people, never expected to cross paths, who can look beyond the obvious to see what is inside the other.
Isabel Beachwood is being torn apart. After a takeover at her company she finds herself out of her dream job and also out of her gorgeous little house. Forced to move in with her step sister Isabel doesn’t know what she is going to do. In an attempt to earn a bit more money as her safety net Isabel decides to sell some of her furniture – including her lovely little table that she spent far too much on in the first place.
Tyberius Griffin – or Ty as he is known as – is used to being the ruthless businessman. Arranging takeovers for other companies he is used to being on the giving end of bad news. Not that he likes it but what is he to do? Never before has he had to face up to what his decisions cost people however, until he meets the enigmatic Isabel.
“All she knew was that being near him had become intoxicating.”
After buying the table that means so much to her Ty cannot get Isabel out his mind. He wants to see her again, to know more about her. Isabel knows she should hate him. After all it is his fault she is out of a job. And yet she can’t bring herself to feel anything other than lust, and maybe something more, about Ty.
This is a great, well put together story of two people who, under usual circumstances, wouldn’t have met. It proves that it doesn’t matter where you come from, opposites always attract. And what an attraction these two characters have. Drawn in from their first meeting you are carried along through this on the strength of their emotions. A very good read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
As a result of losing her job, Isabel Beachwood is moving home and sells a table to a mysterious and wealthy man. He gives her his card to return fifty dollars change and she discovers he is Tyberius Griffin, the CEO of Grandin Financial, who is responsible for her losing her job as an app designer. She is even more surprised when later that week she attends a charity fundraiser for children with her sister Ellen and they meet again and dance. Afterwards, they return to her house and have sex until they are interrupted by Elen. As a result of this, Isabel gets her job back. However, one day she sees him with his sister and nephew but presumes it is his wife and child, she meets his sister Victoria and they decided to resume their relationship even if a past ex-girlfriend of Ty’s threatens their future An interesting read. Well written plot. Well developed characters. Good setting of a hectic and busy city but also some parks. The opposites and Ellen and Isabel worked well together. Pilot the dog was perfectly written as well as all the scenes with him in. how she was living somewhere she didn’t want to be was pitiable and relatable. Tyberius sense of wealth and arrogance with kindness underneath was well written, although he did come off a llittle strongly at times. However, at times, the thoughts of characters such as Tyberius and Isabel verge on being more like a stream of consciousness which I found hard to read. Alongside this, Isabel’s reminiscences felt too detailed and several past events were repeated such as the lectures by the stepfather and being an outsider and bullying of Isabel about her size.. On the whole, an interesting read and I would give it three stars.
Isabel Beachwood just lost her dream job, her dream place, and now she is losing her dream table. The man that comes to look at the table is easy to look at, but he is way too pretentious. He gives her a business card so she can give him his change for the table. She won’t except handouts. After he leaves, she finally looks at the card and she is furious!! This is the man that caused her to lose everything!!! Well, she will just return his change and be done with him!!! But when she sees him again, she just can’t seem to stay angry. She doesn’t need this kind of man in her life.
Ty Griffin has it all. Becoming a financial tycoon at such young age meant that he had to work extremely hard to get where he is. And he has loved every minute if it. Until now. Lately, his life has seemed empty. Sure, he can have any woman he wants, but they only want him for his money or power. Then he goes to pick up a table from Isabel Beachwood. The moment he lays eyes on this sexy beauty, he is taken with her. She is not like any woman he has dated before. He just has to know more.
Can these two, totally opposite people make things work? Do they want to? What about the others in their pasts that do not want this couple together? The odds are high, how much are they willing to give?
This is a very good romance. The characters were written well, and there is more going on than just the possible love story that you will not want to put the book down. The only drawback I saw was all of the brand labeling and such. These two characters obviously have expensive taste and too be honest some of it was a little over my head since I did not recognize some of them. However it was still a very good story and I would highly recommend it.
All Tyed Up is a standalone by Julia Harlow and it is the first book I have read by this writer and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. I gave it four stars and let me tell you why. All Tyed Up is a story of Isabel Beachwood and Tyberius Ty Griffin. Isabel is an enigmatic 25-year old app designer and Ty is a ruthless businessman and a CEO of Grandin Financial, the company taking over the company that Isabel is working for and therefore also responsible for Isabel losing her job. It is very unfortunate how they decide based on seniority and not based on the performance and that is something that Ty has actually issues with. I loved how Julia had Isabel and Ty to meet first outside their workplace – as Isabel was losing her job, she had to give up her rental apartment and she had to get rid some of her furniture and Ty came for the table that Isabel so loved. Isabel is described as a plus size but at the same time the way it was expressed it seemed that she was most likely a curvy girl, I can see how her perception of herself was of a plus size woman due to the mental and emotional abuse she suffered in the hands of her stepfather. Something that bothered me and why I am giving 4 stars is the dropping of brand names, for me, it took something away from the story and did not let the story flow as it could have. Otherwise I think Julia has created a fun story that you can easily spend a great evening with AND let’s not forget about all the great minor characters … I wonder if Julia will have a follow up for this story, I would totally be in the line for reading it!

All Tyed Up is the first book I have read by Julia Harlow and certainly will not be my last. I really liked her writing style, very descriptive.
Isabel Beachwood is a twenty five year old young woman and has her dream job, at least that is what she thought. That is until she finds out her company was sold and she is losing her dream job. She ends up having to move from her dream home into a loft with her step sister Ellen, and they have had a past that was not so kind. Before moving she had to sell some of her goods and meets the handsome Ty Griffen. Ty goes over to Isabel’s to pick up a table his sister picked out for him. He does not expect anything but leaves with the table and infatuation with Isabel. She is not like most women and he sees that right away.
Ty Griffen is the CEO of Grandin Financial Corporation, that is the company that bought the startup Isabel was working for. Ty had to convince Isabel on multiple occasions to go out with him. Isabel has many insecurities that are related to her difficult past when she was a teenager, relating to self image. Making it hard to believe that Ty really wants to go out with her. She has so many questions about how he can like her due to her being voluptuous. Ty does everything to convince Isabel that he wants to be with her for who she is. Isabel and Ty definitely have such chemistry, but so many things are being thrown in their way. Can Isabel and Ty get past it all and be in love?
Julia Harlow had me hooked from the start. There were many twists and turns I was not expecting and did not see coming. Ms. Harlow goes into such detail when from describing the food, clothes and homes, that you can visualize what is going on with the characters. All Tyed Up Left me wanting more. I am looking forward to reading more from Julia Harlow.
I needed a few minutes to really think about this book before I started my review. I have enjoyed another book I read by Julia Harlow. There are a lot of elements that I do like about this book as well. I liked (but was a bit confused in a few parts) the different points of view and I LOVED the message Ty kept drilling into Isabel’s head to ease her insecurity and get her to see herself as he does. I love Isabel's kind, caring, selfless heart and of course her connection with Pilot. Who wouldn't love a handsome, well dressed, smart man who only has your happiness as a goal? This book has several twist and turns I was not expecting and I did enjoy that element of surprise. The only thing that I had to overlook was I felt at times there were too many details that almost took away from the reading instead of enhancing it.
If you are a dog lover you can relate to trusting a dog's instinct. Isabel aka sweet Isabel’s dog Pilot will grow on you more and more as the book develops. Your heart will be in your throat and you will be at the edge of your seat at times.
Tyberius Griffin is a man who has seen success. He has many “things” to show for all his hard work. What he doesn't have is a woman to share it with. Sometimes when you least expect something you are gifted it. How long that gift stays in your life is unknown, especially when so many obstacles from jealous outside forces interfere.
“Like a bolt out of the blue, fate steps in and sees you through . . .”
All Tyed Up Julia Harlow 4 Stars “Whatever had come over him when he’d seen her with Craig much have been more about his competitive nature then anything else. Right? Maybe he had a possessive streak. But that was all. It couldn’t be anything more than that, could it? Were his feelings for her deeper than she realized?” Isabel Beachwood finally got her dream job but then was fired when Grandin Financial Corporation bought out Baycrest Enterprises. Isabel had to move in with her stepsister Ellen Daniels, and had to sell her beloved table to a man that ended up being the man of her dreams. His name is Tyberius Griffin, and he shows her how much she means to him. But when certain circumstances come her way Isabel jumps to conclusions before Ty has a chance to explain. Will she end something amazing before it has a chance to begin? Tyberius Griffin is the CEO of Grandin Financial Corporation and has a lonely home life. When he goes and buys the table that, his sister has found on Craigslist. When he sees Isabel, her beauty immediately hits him. When she insists on bring him his change the next, he cannot wait to see her again. When life stars throwing challenges at them, Ty cannot seem to keep her safe and her out of his head.
I gave this book 4 star. The detail are great and has twists and turns u do not expect. Loved that the characters live like real people. Isabel is insecure about her weight and if she will ever be loved, and when certain things happen she runs. Nevertheless, no matter what Ty is there to help her and show her how much she means. I cannot wait to read more by Julia Harlow.
In All Tyed Up by Julia Harlow we meet Isabel Beachwood and Tyberius Griffin. Isabel is a twenty something app designer who, once upon a time, had found her dream job and was living in her dream home. Up until the starter company she worked for was bought out and due to her short time there, she was let go. Leading to her having to pack up and move in with her step sister Ellen. Things are not going well, then she sells a table that she purchased in Carmel to Ty Griffin. Ty’s sister has found him the perfect table for his new house, unfortunately she can’t go pick it up for him and Ty ends up at Isabell’s home. He is immediately infatuated by her. Her hair, her eyes, her body all call to the alpha male part of his psyche. He wants her and he always gets what he wants but Isabell isn’t going to make it easy on him. Isabell’s life is stereotypical of a person who has been beaten down by the people who were supposed to love her most. Her stepfather and stepsisters made her teen years difficult, belittling her at every turn. Her college boyfriend made her feel worthless. So, she fixed herself and now knows she can stand on her own and she doesn’t need anyone. While she is attracted to Ty she has a hard time understanding why he wants her so much. The chemistry between the two is off the charts, but as they start building a relationship other people try to come between them, a gold digging co-worker, creepy stalker and a blast from the past to name just a few. Will Ty and Isabell fight for one another? Will the past end the possibility of a happy future? This is my first book by Julia Harlow and while I did enjoy it I think at times there was a little too much description of minor things like clothes, food, paintings, etc. that detracted from the story at times. I really liked this story and I will most definitely be looking into more of Ms. Harlow’s works.
This book was really well written. It has a bunch of twists and turns that the reader doesn't see coming. It is a easy read that could fall into several different categories such as billionaire romance, suspense, body image, alpha male, adult contemporary, etc. It is really easy to get to know the characters even though it is written in third person with varying POV. I really enjoyed getting to know the two main characters from the beginning. Isabel is very reserved, has low self esteem, and is down on her luck. Ty is a billionaire alpha who always gets what he wants.
From the first page, Isabel's past haunts her and puts her future in jeopardy. The way her three step sisters and step father treated her growing up has caused Isabel to have low self esteem and body image issues. She still sees herself as the stupid, overweight ten year old she once was instead of the intelligent, bombshell she has become. Her ex caused her to have trust issues. Her former coworker has caused her to shy away from the male species by the way he flirts with her and takes things a little too far even after being told no.
Ty's past also haunts him in the form of a former ex girlfriend who thinks they are going to get married. His acquisition of Isabel's company causes her to loose her job, until the personnel are asked to look into who was let go and lead in the direction of retiring isabel. She has no knowledge of this and th doesn't know her well enough at this point to reveal the truth.
Will their past haunt them to the point of no return? Will their former and current choices force Ty and Isabel apart before they get a chance to become a couple? This is a book is must read! With so many different levels of roadblocks and turns, the reader doesn't know which way the story is going to go.
All Tyed Up by Julia Harlow in an definate four star book. Julia Harlow writes a story that is sexy, hot, hot, hot! Ty and Isabelle cut a hot rug on the way to their steamy ever after. Ms. Harlow has captured their romance and spiced it up, way way up. Ghost Pepper hot. And yet, there is a lot more going on between Isabel and Ty than just great sex. They exude romance with every nuance of the word. Ms. Harlow has captured and defined these characters with the best descriptions. Detailed and in depth, she deftly drew me into their story and made me care about the outcome. The description of their dates and the locations Ty and Isabel go is icing on the cake. Ty and Isabel’s story is poth poignant and realistic. The pain of humiliation suffered in childhood brings humanity to both of them. I really appreciate Julia Harlow’s depiction of Isabel and her step-sisters. One of these sisters, Ellen has reached out to Isabel and she is trying to reconnect and reconcile with her. Julia Harlow handles that delicate relationship masterfully and with a lot of compassion and understanding for both girls. So often we say things that are hurtful and don’t even realize how hurtful they are until years later. Or maybe never. I really enjoyed reading “All Tyed Up” by Julia Harlow. She is a wonderful writer with a great handle on how to string words together to make an amazing story. Kudos, Ms. Harlow.
All Tyed Up by Julia Harlow is a book that I couldn’t put down. I don’t normally enjoy going to work but I was even less excited since it was going to cut into my reading time. I could relate to Isabell with her lack of self-confidence due to size, though I wish I was her size. Her issues started as a child and hasn’t been able to get past those hurtful words from her step-sisters and her step-father.
Isabell Beachwood was exactly where she wanted to be at twenty-five. Dream job which she loved and had just moved into the perfect apartment when the rug gets pulled out from her and her company is bought out and since they decided last hired first fired was the way to go, Isabell now finds herself packing up her perfect apartment and moving in with one of her step-sisters Ellen who is the only one she now gets along with or speaks to. Before she and her dog Pilot move in with Ellen she must sell items, she doesn’t have the space for. She meets Ty Griffin when he comes to purchase one of her favorite pieces, a small table. Neither of them were prepared for what happens after she opens that door and they are forever changed.
There were lots of twists and turns which I wasn’t expecting but that is part of what I enjoyed so much about this book. I have already recommended this to a few of my book friends and will continue to do so.
I am going to start this review by saying that even though I did not connect with the characters in this book, it does not take away from the fact that this was a good, interesting and well written book. I liked that there were duel point of views. I feel that it helps to understand each character more if you can see things from their point of view. This was quite useful because there were times when I kept asking myself why a character was behaving the way they were.
I liked that Isabel was not like the usual stick figure characters. She may have suffered with body issues but it was a nice change.
Isabel Beachwood, has just lost her beautiful apartment and her favourite table. Her prized table was sold to a handsome stranger. This was due to her losing her job, a job that she was good at. She has to move in with her step-sister else she would be homeless.
Tye Griffin is the reason that Isabel is out of a job. He is the reason that she had to sell her amazing apartment and her favourite table. He runs a company that deals with acquisitions, he is unaware of his role in Isabel losing her job.
I enjoyed the ending of the book. A good ending in a book makes me raise the rating of a book. I will again state that this is a good book, with a good storyline that will keep you guessing.
All Tyed Up by Julia Harlow was my first book by this author. This was a great four-star read; it was sexy intriguing with a twist of suspense. This is the first time with a new author that I have read the book without stopping. I enjoyed her writing style; she didn't over indulge by being too descriptive or long-winded.
Isabel Beachwood didn’t have an easy younger child-hood due to her three stepsisters and her stepfather making fun of how her body looks. Isabel developed early and wasn’t a petite girl, she had craves. Years later, she has to move out of her dream apartment because she just lost her dream job and has to move in with her step-sister Ellen. Isabel needs to sell her favorite Carmel table. With having her body issues she was not very prone to having relationships. Who knew that a Chris Hemsworth look-alike would be the person to buy her table and turn her world upside down.
Tyberius “Ty” Griffin is a CEO of Grandin Financial and his life is all about business; he never has time for a personal life. But when his sister suggested he needs to go look at a Carmel table for his house that he is remodeling, he never thought he’d meet the one woman he couldn’t live without. He will have to work hard to make her realize that she is beautiful and worthy of his love.
I can identify with Isabel, by not feeling beautiful and worthy of love because of being teased about how you looked and it took a very special person to get through to you. I loved the passion and sexy time between these two characters, I think that is why I read this book so fast. I will be definitely read Julia’s other books.
All Tyed Up by Julia Harlow is an interesting story about a gorgeous CEO falling for an ordinary app tech.
Isabel Beachwood has a German Shepard, Pilot, who would do anything to protect her. After losing her dream job, she is forced to leave her dream place, the one she got herself, to move in with her stepsister, Ellen. While selling off all her prized possessions, a beautiful man comes to buy her beloved table. Something about the way he looks at her has her squirming all over.
Tyberius Griffin is thirty three and is the CEO of Grandin Financial Corporation. Which is actually the company who put Isabel out of a job. His main focus has been, business, remodeling his house and working out. But since meeting Isabel he's wanted to know more.
The story was good overall but it took me longer than usual to finish. While an interesting piece, I did not feel as though I connected with the characters. Isabel was a great character: witty, charming and a little insecure. While I liked her character I just found Ty's hard to believe. Also, there were a few times when I knew who was talking but I wasn't sure why. Like the dog? I didn't understand why he was allotted a chapter. While there wasn't anything wrong with it, it just did not seem as though it went with the book as it only happened one time.
Overall, I was shocked at some of the twists that Julia threw at us. Definitely not the direction I anticipated some of the supporting characters would go. I will say I may have been a little disappointed that one supporting character gave up so easy but that is neither here nor there. A great happily ever after ending that I will recommend to others.
In All Tyed Up by Julia Harlow we meet Isabel and Ty. Isabel is having some really tough times; she’s lost her job so now she has to move in with her step sister, while that may seem innocent enough for Isabel, it’s anything but. Because living with her brings back too many painful memories for Isabel. Having to sell some of her belongings she meets CEO Ty Griffin who she eventually finds out had a hand in her losing everything. Things have a rocky start for them. She’s trying to get her life back together but the past seems to be coming up everywhere. Ty is a man who knows when he sees something he wants he’ll do anything to have it. This is no different when he goes to buy the table Isabel adores. The minute he sees her he knows he has to have her, but when she finds out he’s part of the reason for her broken life she has other plans. With what seems to be anything and everything coming between these two can they ever find a way to make things work? Will the past keep interfering? Or will it finally stay in the past where it belongs. This was my first book by this author and she definitely didn’t disappoint. This book was a coat of many colors with its Romance, suspense and drama. The characters felt real and believable. I give this book a five star rating and highly recommend it to all the book lovers out there.
All Tyed Up, by Julia Harlow, is the second book I have read by this author. This is a contemporary romantic suspense that will keep you engaged throughout the story. Isabel Beachwood is the heroine of this book and her story is a spiral of chaos with the loss of her dream job, her Victorian apartment and the painful reminders of a childhood that should have been firmly left in the past. Enter Ty Griffin and the tides begin to shift where a hot and steamy relationship builds but danger also seems to be lurking in the midst.
This was a nicely written story with instant attraction between the characters and love/lust at the start. This is more than just a romance, but also includes suspenseful intrigue and drama to further quench your thirst for more. Julia Harlow did a notable job with her character development and story line. Isabel was written as a character with her life spinning out of control with the losses stacking up against her. It was a well written play on a Cinderella tale with additional aspects to make it reader friendly and captivating. Ty Griffin, the male alpha, in the story, is your typical dominant man who wants what he wants and when he wants it – there is no denial in it. The attraction between the main characters just melts off the page.
All Tyed Up by Julia Harlow is the first book I have read b this author. I love the way Ms Harlow brought the characters to life with extensive descriptions. The plotline held my attention front the first page. This romance was full of mystery and suspense. The witty banter make the characters pop and it make the reader able to relate to Isabel and Ty.
Isabel Beachwood has just lost a job she loved and must move out of her house because the tech company that she works for is taken over by a big financial company. She is selling off her belongings to keep her head above water till she finds a new job. That is where she meets Ty, when he comes to by a table from her. What will happen when she finds out he is the CEO in the company that made her lose her job.
Ty Griffin is the CEO on a company that does multi-million dollar deals, but he is getting tired of all business, so when he meets Isabel the attraction Is instantaneous. The many obstacles they must overcome is daunting, from their past, a nosy step-sister, a stalking co-worker, a jealous ex-lover and a German Shepard.
This book is packed with action and adventure with hot love scenes mixed in. I really enjoyed reading this book from Ms. Harlow. I can't wait to read more books by her.
All Tyed Up by Julia Harlow is a book that was close to my heart. This book made me think and reflect on the many topics the author cover is this story. This is my first read by this author and i was left speechless.
Isabel is down on her luck. She just lost her dream job and has to give up her adorable little apartment and move in with her step-sister. Ty enters her life and it is hearts aflutter, instantly. The attraction was palpable between them. Isabel has many issues with her body shape and size. After being ridiculed for how she looked, it gave her a huge complex. She loved the job she lost, and was really good at it, but that was another thing that made her feel useless and undeserving. Ty only saw the endless beauty that was Isabel. It wasn't just her beauty that he fell in love with. He fell in love with her big heart and kind spirit. But there are some that do not want Ty and Isabel together.
It is a refreshing change to have an author write about an issue that affects many women. Bad body image can be debilitating and make the person feel isolated and lonely. Julia Harlow gives readers a realistic look into the daily struggles of a woman with little self esteem, who finds a man who loves and adores her, because all he sees when he looks at her is beauty and purity.
All Tyed Up was jammed packed with emotion, angst, drama, passion, misunderstandings and lots of making up. A cleverly written story of acceptance, discovery and love. A fantastic story that will appeal to many readers who love romance and will be the first of many hours of reading books by this author. 4 stars for All Tyed Up and Julia Harlow.
The story of Isabel Beachwood and Ty Griffin is a classic “billionaire buys the company that the damsel works at in a takeover and reconsiders his decision based upon their meeting” story. Isabel and Ty’s relationship is hot from the very beginning and he is the classic alpha male who is not afraid to go after what he wants. There are several others in the story who present as very strong characters and carry the story along at a good pace. The romance is hot, the dogs are sweet and quirky, and the relationships form quickly and deeply.
All Tyed up is classified as a romantic suspense, the suspense is an interesting factor in this story because there are some plot lines that just seem unfinished, like Ms. Harlow was trying to redirect the focus and then lost track of who was doing what. There is one random paragraph that pops in told from a completely different character. I would have been interested to make him a stronger voice in the story.
All in all, if you are looking for scorching sex, a bit of suspense, drama, and angst this would be a nice, easy read that will fulfill all of your needs.
This is the second book I’ve read by Julia Harlow and I would continue to read her future work as it keeps improving and becoming cleaner.
Isabel ends up losing her dream job and has to move out of her beloved home and move in with her step sister Ellen who use to pick on her when they were younger but now they are getting along better. With moving out she has to sell her prize possessions which includes her table during the sale she meets Ty. Ty is a very successful man he's the CEO of Grandin financial cooperation. Ty decides to buy a second hand table from a young lady what his sister found fir him, when he arrives to collect it he's faced with a attractive women which he then find it hard to concentrate on business but more focused on the curvy beauty infront of him. Hes never felt like this before its all very new will he be open to It? Will Isabel insecurities push him away? I really enjoyed this novel its great to see a heroine that is curvy and struggling with body image especially as its a real life issue with alot of women effected these days by there image. There story isn't easy there's alot of obstacles standing in there way you can't help but root for them throughout hoping they will get there happily ever after! Im not giving away much as I dont want to reveal any spoilers, but I will absolutely recommend this novel it had me hooked right from the start right until the very end!
