The one guy who got in my pants? Now he wants the shirt off my back.

I've been in New York four weeks. I'm behind on the spring line, days from homeless, and getting sued by the only person in the whole damn city who's seen me naked.

Ava Cameron has stars in her eyes. When the feisty fashion designer moves to NYC after graduation with her best friend, things are finally clicking into place.

Aren't they?

Suddenly their brand new label, Travesty, is under attack. The lawyer leading the charge is the hottest hookup Ava ever had. One she swore she'd never see again.

Nate Townsend might be from the right schools, the right neighborhood and the right family. But under the surface, his scars run deep.

When the society prince and the loud designer come face to face on a case that could decide Ava's future, sparks fly. Nate's not about to let Ava forget she's the only person who knows his secrets. And Ava's walking the line between getting Travesty back on track and being dragged into the gutter by one stubborn young attorney planning to take her down.

If only Nate Townsend didn't make the gutter look so damn good...

Ava has a one nightstand with the one man in all of New York that she should steer clear of as he ends up representing a client that is suing her for supposedly copying one of his designs. Ava works hard on everything she does and knows she didn't copy anything but the odds seem to be stacked against her. Nate is facing a moral dilemma as he battles representing someone he doesn't believe in against someone he's very much attracted to. These two have great chemistry and flow very well together I like them as individuals as well. I do wish Nate had a bit more of a backbone but he's still a good dude. The plot was pretty interesting. Some parts were funny. The pacing and writing was done well. Safety: No OW/Sharing. h dates OM who happens to be Hs friend. They kiss but nothing more. Neither are Vs. They use condoms. No rape/abuse.

***4 "Wait for me!!!" stars***

This was a lovely and very enjoyable story...
I had such a wonderful time in the company of these people, especially Ava's and Nate's, but i liked the rest of the guys, as well!!!

I haven't read the previous book of "Travesty" series but i had zero problem with that, I just learned many things about the previous couple since it's connecting with Ava very much....
But enough with that....

"Yes. This was what I’d wanted. A guy like this, on a night like this. Fun. Easy. Without any complications."

Ava and her partner Lexi are in New York following their dreams...

Travesty is their baby and they want to succeed in this business... Ava is the designer of their wonderful clothes and Lexi is the brains...
But Travesty is under attack from another designer who is claiming that they stole a design that was his...
Now, Ava has not only to face the possibility of failure and homelessness, but also she has to face a law suit with a hot lawyer against her, a lawyer that she knows a little bit too much....

"Two things were clear:
one, that night was undoubtedly the most brain-melting sex of my life.
And two: Nate Townsend was bad news."

Nate has his own problems and worries to carry.... and now, he had to fight against his hot one-night stand before six months with this gorgeous girl that he hadn't forgot since then....

But he has to stay away from her if he wants to succeed with his case...
And it's impossible to do so since she is his new neighbor to the door across from his...

“Last year I met a girl. I spent seven minutes cursing her, seven hours worshipping her. And then seven months regretting that I let her leave...
I kept telling myself there was no way one girl could have affected me like that...
Then I saw her again... and I knew I’d been lying to myself.”

As you can understand, Ava and Nate are not in good terms, but at the same time, it's impossible to stay away from each other...

But what will be the result???
Will Nate be able to do his job without his feeling get to the way??? And what will cost him with Ava???
Will Ava forget that Nate is about to take everything from her and follow her heart???

Is there a future from them???

"This felt wrong. At the same time, it was exactly what we needed. Because something had changed between last year and this year. He wasn’t dominant, wasn’t conquering me and demanding my response. Yet in some ways I felt more helpless beneath him this time.
I trusted him.
And he trusted me. To be with him in a way he wouldn’t let anyone."

I liked very much both Ava and Nate... They were so opposite characters but they were fitting so well together... There was some serious chemistry there!!!

Ava was a spitfire.... She was full of life, she had no filter and that was putting her all the damn time in troubles.... But the whole situation was soooo sweet!!!
Nate was very serious, but i understood why he was like that... Ava was making him... feel and that was different but... incredible!!!!

"We’d come a long way from last year. One night, reckless, out of our control. Now I knew he was more—more complicated, more fascinating, more everything—than I’d imagined." {Ava}

"Ava made me feel like it was OK to be less than whole. And at the same time, I felt more complete than I’d been in a long time." {Nate}

I enjoyed this story very much and for once again Mrs. Lawson proved me how good she writes!!!
This was my second story of her and it won't be the last!!!!
Can't wait for the next story in the Travesty series!!!!

Overall Opinion: I enjoyed this one for the most part. The h got a little too judgmental and kind of fizzled out for me in the end, but I loved her character at first. The H was a damaged but loyal guy that I enjoyed. I was mainly frustrated with the ending. The way the lawsuit got eventually handled?!...yeah that ticked me off. I mean why couldn't that have happened WAY sooner?!? It would've resolved SO much of their issues. It was just all too quick and neatly wrapped up in the end for my liking. I also wanted to see their future and get a HEA! Even though I enjoyed most of the book, I cannot justify giving it more than 3 stars for my issues with the h and the ending.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Ava and Nate's story. They meet at a bar and have a hot ONS. About seven months later, they are reunited when Nate is representing a designer suing Ava for an alleged copyright issue. They both fight their strong attraction. After bumping into each other and spending more time together, they eventually start to develop stronger feelings. There is some family and work drama, as well as some sexy times...and they do get a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Ava and Nate's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good overall except the ending being abrupt (see closure section below). I never skimmed, and I thought it flowed well otherwise.

Instalove:No. They have a ONS that turns into a hate-to-love type relationship, and then they get stronger feelings.

H rating: 4 stars. Nate. I liked him. He was burned in the past, so his behavior (to me at least) was understandable.

h rating: 3 stars. Ava. I liked her personality, but her judgements got old.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This didn't have nearly enough closure for me! The ending felt totally abrupt, and I wanted an extended epilogue to see them settled in their careers and getting their HEA!! I would call this a HFN ending

How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription.

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

"Last year I met a girl. I spent seven minutes cursing her, seven hours worshipping her. And then seven months regretting that I let her leave"

Out of all Piper's books, this one was hands down my favorite.

Why?

Well, first of all, I read it in one sitting. Okay, two sittings, but it counts as one since the only thing interrupting reading-time was sleep. Aaaaanyway, around 3/4 in I realized why I was devouring this book. Of course, the great characters, the swoony hero, the off-the-charts steamy scenes and dynamics were a solid base. Still, my realization concerned situations and tropes. I found almost every one of my favorite tropes and "situations" in here.

It's like tasting a cake and loving it without really understanding what's in it. Then you ask for the recipe and find all your favorite ingredients in the perfect doses.

- hate to love (always a big hit with me).
- friends to lovers (God bless slow burns and relationships built on trust and actual solid grounds)
- neighbors (I love this trope. Some of my fav books have this trope: "Wait for You" and "Neighbor Dearest" just to name a couple).
- lively girl meets kind of uptight hero (honestly, Nate is not exactly uptight, but he's a Suit, *cue, swooning* so you get the point).
- tortured, yet not twisted hero, with a sweet side and a super-passionate nature *waggling eyebrows*.
- love triangle of the good kind (a.k.a. when it doesn't last long and it's clear to everyone the other guy is only a means to an end: make the H jealous and propel their romance forward).
- hero's parents/family against the heroine. I'm a sucker for star-crossed lovers, but without major angst (Double suicide a-la Romeo and Juliet doesn't do it for me).

Other things that got me squealing with happiness where:
-the fact that h and H meet right away. Page two or something. I flove when this happens. It's so hard for me to be hooked since the very first page at times, right for this very reason. If I'm reading a romance, I want the good part to start as soon as possible. Here, soon was just amazingly soooooon.
- the hot flashback. I already said this book has a slow burn. Well, first let me say it wasn't too slow. It was a perfect burn. Like a perfectly cooked steak. Still, the nookie didn't happen before the half-point if I did my calculations right. Still, not even a third in, we have a very hot flashback of what happened during their first night together, which tied me over for a long while since it was scorchingly hot.
- one little plot-twist which I hadn't seen coming. It wasn't anything major. Just something that had me stuttering and saying: "Oh no, you didn't! You ************ ******** **** *******(insert cussing)"

Now let's jump on the characters. Yeah, I'm not imagining myself literally jumping Nate... at all.
Since I called him forth, let's start from Nate, the lawyer who wanted to be Superman as a kid. I first read of him in Sealed, and was immediately amused by his antics with the cat and his relationship with Ava. It was clear these two had not just great chemistry, but also liked to tease each other. Me liked that.

So instead of starting from book one, I walked back and dived into Nate and Ava's story. Nate's character was more complex than I'd expected. At first, he seems like you usual confident Suit, with a cocky attitude, a Porsche and a line of one night stands under his belt. Then you see his other sides. You see the diligent son, the guilt-ridden brother, you see the caring friend, and the jealous wanna-be boyfriend. Nate was the whole package and I've gotta say, like Ava, the parts of him I loved more were his vulnerable ones. There's something that does me in every time: a guy showing his insecurities and doubts, his fears. A man asking for help. It doesn't make him less alpha. I mean, in the bedroom, Nate Townsend is a sexy beast and I would pay a pretty penny to see him play basketball shirtless, but seeing him relying on Ava, befriending her, challenging her, eating take-out Thai food and watching classic movies with her... that warmed my heart.

Ava was amazing too. I had some reservations before starting this book regarding her, because usually I relate better to practical girls rather than to dreamers. Yet she was perfect the way she was, not too boisterous or in your face as I'd feared. Instead, she showed many vulnerabilities too, but without denying her fiery spirit.

Together they were the perfect match and have easily become one of my favorite couples. Even with the issues they met down the way, the way they resolved them, it was never too angsty or too surrealistic or drama-llama-like. They were human characters with their flaws and everything. Still, I loved how, after a first moment in which both of them denied their feelings, it was Nate who pursued their relationship with more strength (hero-chaser, you're my weakness). Sure, he was also very confident about her feelings for him, but the things he gave up to be with her made me swoon really really hard. Also the final issue was well-dealt with (which in my world means that no one did anything overly stupid and that no one was right or wrong. It was just a shitty situations,) and the separation didn't last very long, meaning it made me one happy reader.

Will I keep reading this series? Considering, I've now read book 2.5 and 3, I'd say reading 1 should be a given.

Would I recommend it? Abso-effing-lutely (this is me trying to curb the cussing not to give Amazon any ammos against my review). This was the best of the series so far and I loved every single second of it. I'll finish with some quotes, because I've found out nothing convinces me better to read a book than reading snippets of it.

[Nate saves Ava from a bar creep's avances by pretending to be her boyfriend, and Ava, playing along, calls his Porsche an import. Then they have this conversation.].
Blue eyes searched mine. "I need to say something. What's your name?"
"Ava."
He just nodded. "I'm Nate," he said in a voice that was starting to make my skin hum. "Here's the thing, Ava. A Hyundai is an import. A Porsche is an unparalleled feat of European engineering wrapped in sex."

"What are you doing for the next ten hours?" he muttered between kisses. I pulled back, my mouth still tingling. "And a really great answer would be me."

My eyes roamed the room for any available high-top. I stopped halfway.
"The fuck he's here," I muttered darkly, spotting the last person I wanted to see at a table flanked by equally good-looking bookends.
Note to self: do something about karma. Because apparently I blew up an entire planet in my past life.

I'd been so focused on Nate, I hadn't gotten a good look at the guys with him. When I did, angels sang. Sitting next to my least-favorite mistake was the most beautiful man I'd ever seen.
He was blond with a rugged jaw and a suit as sleek and tailored ad Nate's. His blue eyes said, "I save puppies in my spare time."

"Abby's an old family friend," I went on for not good reason. "We've known each other forever. You know how these things are."
"Is that like an arranged marriage? Does she come with goats? Or do you bring the goats?" Her eyebrows drew together like she was trying to figure it out.
I swallowed and chuckle. "I'm not sure."
Ava's eyes glinted up at me with mischief. "You can't be a very good lawyer if you don't know who brings the goats".

Surfers trying to show off were one thing, but lawyers on the basketball court were a different breed. There was a desperation to it, like everything mattered just a little too much.
Is there such a thing as lawyer basketball porn? I'd totally buy it.

"I found it, you know. Your comic collection."
"Huh?" He sounded startled.
"Mhmm. The one on your top shelf. It was cute."
"You mean manly."
"Let's go with cute."
"We'll revisit."

I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review.
'Stripped' by Piper Lawson is book two in the "Travesty" series. This is the story of Ava Cameron and Nate Townsend.
Ava and Nate had a one night stand..but now that night is coming back to bite them. Nate is a lawyer who has a client who is suing Ava. Ava is and up and coming dress designer. Nate is totally surprised to find that his client is suing Ava. Ava is really upset with Nate but she does find it hard to stay mad at him. This was actually a very sweet, hot funny romance that I am so happy to have the chance to read!

This book had me laughing so hard I nearly peed in my pants and blush so hot I thought I would spontaneously combust. It also made me swoon with some cute and romantic moments. This is my second Piper Lawson’s book and it held all its promises.

What would you do if the hottest one night stand of your life sued you for copying his client’s work?
That’s what's happening to Ava in Stripped. Stripped takes place where Schooled left us and should be read in order. Ava and Lex are in New York to launch their business and make their dreams come true but it will be a bumpy road, beginning with the lawsuit.

”I’ve been in New York for four weeks. I’m behind on the spring line, a week from homeless and getting sued by the only person in the whole city who’s seen me naked.”

Ava met Nate Townsend months ago while visiting New York. Their night together was torrid but never to be repeated. When months later their worlds collide again they are on opposite sides.
Ava, like the real firecracker she is, won’t go down without fighting and she’ll attack with all her wit. Sparks fly and their heated banter were extremely funny but also one very hot foreplay.

”The way you guys argue? It’s like watching through a peephole in Amsterdam.”

I love Ava. She has no mouth filter (word bomb alert!), she is like an improper and mischievous child, so very funny! “If we lose this lawsuit, could you guys make two hundred and fifty thousand dollars worth of porn?”
She is her own person, a very independent woman and a real breeze of fresh air. I’d like to be her BFF!
”Ava reminded me of the peonies that used to stubbornly grow in the middle of my mother’s rose garden. Beautiful and unapologetically unique.”

Where Ava is spontaneous and free (she speaks to her waterlogged shoes!), Nate appeared controlled, well mannered, a gentleman heir of a successful law firm. But this is only his outer shell as Nate is one of these conflicted heroes, strong on the outside but with a battle raging inside. ”That’s what my life feels like some days. Like I woke up in a strange place and don’t know how I got there.”
He was the perfect blend of strong maleness and vulnerability. When I realized he was like a lost little boy sometimes, I melted in a puddle of goo.

Ava and Nate’s story is hot but also complicated. The lawsuit is dividing them, their world and goals stand pole apart and Ava is not really welcome in Nate’s wealthy world. How could they ever find their happy ever after?

What I loved so much, aside the humor and the sparks is all the romantic and tender moments. Special mention when Ava reminisced her first encounter with Lex in Kindergarten as Ii was so cute and charming I’m certain I must have sighed a little.

So if you’re looking for a very heartwarming read, full of spunk, hilarious, hot and tender moments, this is your book.

Congratulations Piper, you’ve made the perfect balance between hot, funny and sweet.

Ava is in New York with her bestie to see some people about their fledgling fashion business when she meets a hot guy in a bar. They immediately fall in lust and an epic one night stand follows. Months later, with the friends now permanently living in New York and on the wrong side of a lawsuit, who should be the lawyer on the opposite side of the table? Yup, hot guy from the bar.

Through a series of events Nate and Ava keep bumping into each other which leads to some heated interactions but after a while they form a tentative sort of friendship but through everything there was still the underlying lust between the two of them.

I loved Ava’s character. She’s sarcastic and loud and sometimes words slip from her mouth before her brain can stop her mouth. Nate on the other hand was sexy as hell with his own brand of strength of quirk. The two together had some insanely hot sexy times and the push and pull between them as they tried to fight against the attraction was simply delicious.

The story may have been a little predictable with its fair share of cliché’s but the author somehow made everything feel completely fresh. I ate up every word and though this is a standard length novel, I wished there was more of it. Nate and Ava went on quite the journey and with each of them trying to find their own place in the world and having their own goals to reach, when you add in all the funny occurrences and secondary characters who at times interfered, it’s quite amazing that the author managed to pull off such a fast paced and seamless story.

The humour and commentary in the book was excellent and there wasn’t a single character in this book who I didn’t immediately love. And did I mention the sex? Did I tell you it was hot? Because it was. There was just something about the slow burn between these characters, the sense of the forbidden and the anticipation that makes your toes curl in pleasure. Add to that the vulnerability that peeks through at times and the tenderness amongst the hot and heavy that escalated the hotness levels.

It all made for a sexy and very funny romantic comedy and it’s an absolute pleasure to read. Definitely recommended.

:: 5 Sassy Stars ::

This book is totally swoon worthy and readers will not be disappointed with Ava and Nate’s story. I absolutely loved the interaction between the two—the heat, the sassiness, the angst—it’s all pure perfection! When I first heard that Piper Lawson was going to be writing a story about Ava’s life I did a little happy dance because I loved her in the first novel Schooled. And now after finishing the story I am even more happy because I finally got a glimpse into her sassy and fun life. While the book (and Ava’s life) are not without drama, the way she interacts with other characters, her wit, and her smart ass mouth make it an extremely enjoyable read. This is an awesome story. If you haven’t read it and are looking to get into a new series than I highly recommend stating with the first book Schooled, and then moving onto this one. While each book can be read as a standalone, if you read them in order you will get a better feel for all the characters involved.

In this book, Ava is an up and coming fashion designer who is doing pretty well for herself. However, when her world collides with the sexy lawyer, Nate who is bringing a law suit against her for a client her whole world goes haywire. Is this due to the fact that there is an undeniable attraction between the two? Or because of their fling a year ago? Things begin to heat up between the two regardless of their past or the impending lawsuit. But will the couple make it through the problems? Or will the problems override any and all feelings they have for one another?

Overall this is a 5-star book for me. I love the sarcastic and sassy nature of Ava and of course the relationship between her and Nate. It should also be said that the heat level in this book is HIGH… It is very sexy and I found myself blushing quite a few times – I love that! Finally, having read all three of Piper Lawson’s novels to date I am a huge fan. She has not disappointed me once and I don’t think shell disappoint other readers either. Pick this one up- it’s a goodie!

Well, that was... nice.
Nice characters, nice plot, nice love story, nice writing.

I was expecting a little more, though. A love story a bit heavier on the taboo aspect of falling in love with your opponent's lawyer, more tension and unfulfilled longing, instead of elitist family drama and detailed descriptions of clothes and designing.

Yet, while this book certainly wasn't the perfect fit for me and it didn't exactly blow my mind, I enjoyed it well enough. I liked Nate and Ava, individually and as a couple, the supporting characters were charming, and I didn't even see the little twist at the end coming.
I'm sure other readers who are more into chick-lit than I am will eat this stuff right up.

Arc provided by the author. Thank you!

In the first book, SCHOOLED, we read about the story of Lex and her friend Ava who decided to open a clothing franchise called "Travesty". Now in STRIPPED, the story follows right where the first book left off but now focusing on Ava Cameron’s story.

In STRIPPED, we see how the girls are living now they moved to New York to follow their dream. In the first book is this one scene the girls travels from Cali to NY and Ava ends up going out with a guy. Now we see what truly happened, in details. In a night to have fun, Ava meets Nate, a mysterious but sexy guy with a suit who, like her, just wants a night of fun. However, months later, when Ava and Lex are already living for a few months in the the Big Apple, she sees Nate again but not in a pleasant way. The sexual tension and the fact that these two are on opposite sides is what makes this story cute and kinda funny sometimes.

In this sequel I enjoyed more the author’s writing style. I think the story flowed better through the pages making this definitely a page turner. It showed what happened to the couple Lex and Dylan delicately without taking the spotlight from Ava. And it was nice to know more about them.

Ava is crazy, spontaneous and has no filter. She has the personality of my favorite kind of female character. While Lex take care of the administrative parts of the Travesty, Ava is who creates the collections. Now she has to deal with the pressure of a problem that can or cannot end well for the two of them and also dealing with dubious feelings for Nate.

Nate. Ah! Nate! Piper knows how to create lovable men. Before I fell in love with Dylan, but now my heart was all Nate. I loved him. What I liked the most was that their relationship occurred gradually, ya know, it was not an instant love nor easy. And I could actually believe how much they were right for each other.

The sex scenes were very good, the author shows once again that she knows how to write one hot scene, but doesn’t focus only onto that. With all these many books with no story and only focusing on sex, sex and sex, it was good to read a book that knows how to balance the hot scenes with a good narrative.

If I recommend it? Of course! Stripped is a good novel to read. And it has so many cute characters that I hope to see their books as well.

Lex and Ava are the two BFF that created Travesty, a clothing line. In Schooled, we got to know Lex, the financial mind of the duo that unexpectedly fell in love with Ava's little brother, Dylan. In Stripped we get to know better Ava, the designer, a creative, funny and loud young woman, who deep down wants what every other girl wants: a "steals-your-breath, strips-you-bare, indie-makeout love".
If you read the first book, you already know that during a work trip in New York, she had a one night stand with a guy (it's not a spoiler, you will read about this in the first chapter).
Six months has passed and the two friends are now living in New York, where they are working on their clothing line.
An unexpected problem comes up, and Ava finds herself face to face with that one night stand, Nate. Nate is a very driven man and he also has some past issues that make difficult for him to conciliate his work and his feelings.
I can't say more, you will have to read this to find out how their story unfolds. It's sort of an "antagonists to lovers" kind of story, that balances perfectly romance, funny moments and deeper feelings without losing its freshness.
I loved Schooled because it was my kind of easy read, and this just follows the same road.

And speaking of Schooled, I'm a big fan of Lex and Dylan story, so I was more than happy to know more about their relationship. I loved how the author included them, not saying things like "they're kissing in the corner", but actually updating us on their problems without stealing the spotlight from Ava and Nate.

Now, obviously, I want more.
We got to know Jordan, so now she (and I) demanded her story.
And there's Kent who is still single. Just saying.
Plus, I'm waiting to read about Dylan finishing school and moving to New York, so I'm begging for more.

In conclusion, if you like to read about friendship, love, dreams, you should definitely pick this series :)

Many thanks to the author, Piper Lawson, who offered me a copy.

3.5 stars

The first 50% was a cute and enjoyable read that kept me turning each page happily. It didn't get worse or better after the 50% mark, it just plateaued the rest of the way through. I wasn't bored or skimming, but I also wasn't desperate to see what would happen next either.

On the up-side; the sex scenes were pretty hot! Don't expect any kinky, dark play or dom/sub bedroom talk. It was just good Ol vanilla sex that was that is written totally hawwwt. Kudos to the author for that.

This is the author's 2nd standalone story in the Travesty series and although I was able to understand the gist of this story without having to read the first story (about the h's bbf and brother), I also felt that I was missing little pockets of info that may or may not have been already covered in the first book. Oh well; maybe one day I'll give the first book a try.

Written in dual POV although we were mainly in the h's head with some of the H's POV coming through when it mattered. Both were likeable characters but not "phenomenal" MC/BBF material. Sweet HFN at the end that left me satisfied enough.

Hot, hot , hot, hot 4 freaking Townsend stars!!!!! A solid New Adult book with enough steam to make any reader go ballistic. We’re not talking about hot dirty sex but hot vanilla, still it managed to leave me wanting more of the series. The ending isn’t what you call a HEA but a good solid HFN. Considering I don’t remember batshit about the previous book I went to this story completely clueless and ended falling for it. A solid romance for lovers of steamy hot affairs( not in the literal sense mind you).

Original Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace

Piper Lawson has followed up her first book Schooled, with Stripped, another light, entertaining read that I devoured in a day. This book takes place in New York, after the girls relocate to follow their dreams of succeeding in the fashion industry. What Ava didn’t realise was that a copyright issue would bring her face-to-face with her one night stand, from their trip to New York six months earlier.

Ava is a quirky kind of girl; says exactly what she's thinking, she’s pretty relaxed, is determined to succeed and has a passion for creating clothes. I loved how she would go anywhere and would drift away designing clothes on paper, trying to get ideas for the future. She tries to do right by her family and friends, and knows that if she can’t produce that she’ll be letting everyone down. She has a kind heart, but will stand up for herself if confronted by someone or if a problem arises.

Nate didn’t think that he would ever see Ava again and was shocked to see her walk in to his office. He’s smart, successful and comes from a wealthy family, but has worked hard to get where he is. I learnt that he’s had it a bit rough, and finds it hard to let people in, so it was great to see Ava get under his skin. I loved how they both tried to fight their attraction, but the more time they spent together, the harder it got.

These two constantly bantered with one another! I loved seeing them get all fired up and the sexual tension would grow between them. They are a great pair, both passionate and determined to succeed with their work. There were a few issues that they had to overcome and I was happy that they could take time to sort through their priorities.

Stripped was a great sequel to the first book, and can easily be read as a standalone as it features a whole new couple. Piper did a great job at building this world as the characters found their way now that they’ve completed college. I liked all the characters, and enjoyed the introduction of Jordan, who seems to fit well in Ava and Lex’s world. I’m excited to get more from this world to see how the girls go in the future!

4.5 I can't breathe without wanting you stars. Ava and Nate have one steamy night of enjoying each other before they come face to face months later on opposite sides of a lawsuit. Ava can't believe it's him. He can't believe his client is the one suing her. It's true what they say about Fate having a screwed up sense of humor.

Nate, Nate, gorgeous and brilliant Nate. Honestly, it's really hard to not like him. He's smart, he's gorgeous, he's hardworking, he's successful and he's charming. Nate's personality is amazing and that right there makes me sigh because personalities are so important. He doesn't give up and ends up placing himself at risk to lose everything he has worked for.

Ava made me snort and laugh quite a bit. She tried so hard to be pissed off when she realized who Nate was but that doesn't hold up against his charm. Oh, also, Nate relentlessly hounds her until she gives in. While she's a great designer and super creative, she's no match for the charming Nate who she can't avoid if she tried.

Although this is the second in a series, I found this to be a really solid stand alone novel and I don’t feel like I missed anything by not reading the first in the series before picking this novel up. Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I loved the hero and heroine as well as the secondary characters of the novel. I loved Ava’s spirit and her voice was fantastic! Nate was very serious and more difficult to connect to until he finally opens up and you can’t help but like him. The way they came together for each other was quite sweet! The pacing was well done! There were even a few laugh out loud moments which is always a nice surprise! I loved watching Ava and her business partner navigate their new business and how that business played a bit role in the overall story. Really nice little novel that I quite enjoyed!

This is the story of Nate and Ava who met at a bar one night while Ava was visiting NY for her fashion business. The two have a steamy one night stand and go their separate ways the next morning.
Months later Ava and her BFF and business partner move to NY to take their clothing line to the next level. In an unexpected turn for Ava she finds herself being sued the plaintiff claiming she stole a design from his own collection. At a meeting for the case Ava finds that the opposing lawyer is non other her ONS Nate and that the explosive chemistry that they had is still very much there.
I liked both of the characters for the most part. Ava is hardworking, caring, loyal and fiesty.
Nate is smart, caring and very successful. He has had some traumas in his past and doesn't trust very easily.
There was good banter between the two, I loved how they pushed each other's buttons.
They did at times act out a little immature for their age. They had some problems to work through and I thought at times they didn't think their decisions through thoroughly.
This was the first book I have read by Piper Lawson and I really enjoyed it. It is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
This book was sexy, sweet with a little angst thrown in. This book was well written and the characters are well developed. I am definitely excited to read more from Ms. Lawson.

I received a copy from the author, in exchange for an honest review.

I really loved this book. I love the characters. Nate is definitely boyfriend material. He is sweet, caring and totally in love with Ava. He is also handsome, and sexy as hell. I just love him, and he is so arrogant. Ava is Alexis's best friend and Dylan's sister. She is a talented designer.

This is a enemies-to-lovers story. Nate and Ava meet at a club, one December night, and they hook up. Then Travesty got sued on copyright, and they meet again as he is the prosecutor of the case, and she is the defendant. They start to spend time together outside of the law firm he works at and they fall in love.

Their relationship is unexpected. They did not expect to have such strong feeling for each other. The ending was good, but could have been better. I can't believe that this is the last book of the series. I am a fan of Piper Lawson. Can't wait to read Chased next. Thank you Piper Lawson for letting read this book. Overall, a quick romance with some steamy scenes and true love.

3.5 stars.
The second in this series, and we are now in NYC and no longer in College.
Ava is trying to make a go of her clothing label with her best friend Lex, but bumps heads with the lawyer, Nate, who has been charged with running a lawsuit against them: they are being sued for stealing another designer's ideas.
It's great how these women are determined to be successful and work so hard to achieve their dreams. They don't need men to validate them or their efforts, but are still prepared to work towards happy relationships with the men they love. In many ways, much more realistic than this genre usually is.
Another enjoyable, push-and-pull story, well-written and engaging.

Loved this one. So cute and sexy. I loved Nate. He was such a great guy. He and Ava were perfect for each other. A definite opposites attract kind of story. Those are the best in my opinion. I loved their arguments, banter and love scenes. I'll definitely read more from this author.

So I definitely enjoyed this one more than Schooled. And I am pretty sure it’s because Ava and Nate felt more real and likable and developed. The plot didn’t bother me nearly as much - in fact I enjoyed the fact that their separations were from different priorities and when they finally came back together, it was because they needed to put each other first and support one another. Just a really entertaining and well-written read that made me happy.

Piper Lawson has done it yet again! I've been reading a lot of books with dark themes lately but it's good to have a break from those kind once in while and Stripped is the kind of book that's right upto your alley during these times. It's lighthearted and has lots of fun filled moments with sassy characters along with a healthy dose of sexiness.

Ava and her best friend Lex has made it to NYC and they are finally starting their fashion business. But within a few months they are getting sued as they are blamed to copy another designer's dress. Ava knows she hasn't done anything wrong, so no way in hell she’s going to back up. Just when she thinks that things can't get much worse she meets the other attorney and it's none other than her hottest hookup last year. Ava and Nate can't seem to stay away from each other no matter how much they try. But when their careers are on line, will they make it their first priority or loose everything if they intend to move forward together?

This book was so much fun! The plot moved quite smoothly which made it an enjoyable read from the very first page. It was laced with witty dialogues and humour. Ava had her hottest and only hookup when she first stepped into New York to start her fashion line and she never intended to repeat it again but after six months she comes face to face with him once again but this time they are on the opposite side. I simply loved Ava. She’s fierce, dedicated, sassy and adorable at the same time. She didn't back down once because of the charges but instead fought back. Like any other girl she also wanted "steals-your-breath, strips-you-bare, indie-makeout love." Also she had no filter over her mouth which made it a lot more fun to read about her.

"I’ve been in New York for four weeks. I’m behind on the spring line, a week from homeless and getting sued by the only person in the whole city who’s seen me naked."

And Nate. Omg I loved him! He was totally perfect but his character was laced with flaws as well which made him totally realistic. I liked the banter between him and Ava but what I loved the most was that their relationship evolved slowly and gradually. Nothing was rushed but the chemistry between them was crackling hot and intense. I absolutely loved their romance. It was beautiful and... hot. I adored these two together and it was pretty clear that they belonged together. Oh and I loved Schooled , the previous book in this series, so it was great to see Lex and Dylan and how they were working out their long distance relationship.

Overall, Stripped was an incredible read. The plot flowed smoothly and I fell in love with the characters. I absolutely adored Ava and Nate and I looooved their sizzling romance. The writing was smooth and beautiful and it has definitely evolved from the previous book which was a plus. The pace was even throughout the book and it was filled with fun moments. I'm loving this series so much and Piper Lawson has definitely made my must read author list!

Recommend it?

Absolutely!

Review on Author:
Piper Lawson has done it again with this AMAZING new novel. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, her writing is refreshing. The flow of the book was great. I found myself not wanting to put the book down, and finished it in one night. I did realized that in book 1 of this series, I was hoping for a little more of the future and I thought that I would see more of them in this next installment but it really didn’t focus on them much. This book also ended abruptly in the present day. I wish I could see a little more of the future. Other than that I find Piper’s books to be electric and explosive. I loved it and I would enjoy reading more from her.

Review on Story:
Have you ever believed that if you did something bad in your past life you pay for it in your present life? Or have you ever felt like the whole world was against you, and anything that could ever go wrong has gone extremely wrong? Piper Lawson does it again. This is a NA book with some HOT sexual content, part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. I recommend you read book 1, Schooled, first since they mention some of those characters in this book and it might ruin it for you if you plan on reading the first book.
This NA novel is funny, sweet and sexy wrapped up all in one. The heart wants what it wants. You can fight it, but that doesn’t mean you can beat it.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes a sassy heroine and a man in a suit that can hypnotize you and make you forget your own name.

Synopsis:
Ava is loud and has no filter. She tells it like it is. She’s smart, talented but most of all relentless. She has a vision to be a great designer which is why she started her company Travesty with her best friend Alexis. She just moved to New York and the company is just starting but everything in her life starts crumbling around her and to top it all off, there’s Nate. He’s her one-night stand from 7 months ago that she could never forget.
Nathan is serious, confident, smart and SEXY. But he comes with a troubled past. He lives in his fathers’ shadow. Always doing what is told of him. Never been able to stand up to his family, especially when he feels he doesn’t deserve to be happy for himself. Then 7 months ago he meets this feisty, loud and sexy brunette that doesn’t have a problem calling him out on his crap and now he only thinks of the one-night stand that got away.
You haven’t seen chemistry until you put Nathan and Ava in the same room. When fate brings them together again, more than fireworks erupt. What do you get when you put a girl that’s loud with no refrain and a guy that is affluent, series and extremely HOT?? Sizzling fights and incredible sex.
