THERE'S SOMETHING MAGICAL GOING ON IN HAWTHORNE GROVE Serephina, Mortianna, and Esmerelda Seville were charged by terms outlined in a long-forgotten "Cupid Pact" to use their special brand of magic for bringing together the wilting hearts of Hawthorne Grove. Today's happy couple? Kaylee Dean and Jordan Parker. But Kaylee's still hurting over a failed engagement from four years ago and Jordan isn't looking for a wife. Will the Seville sisters' magic be enough to bring this mis-matched couple together? Or will Kaylee and Jordan be forced to trust in the power of good, old-fashioned love?

When love needs a nudge

A great read but just a shame about the proofing errors especially about the length of time that her ex has been gone. Nice down to earth characters.
The three sisters have been part of the cupid core for years and they're hoping that this case will be the one that sets them free, their shop pulls together people who should be together. She was dumped a month before her wedding, he was used as a cash dispenser by his ex-girlfriend. She has kept herself locked away from any romantic interest and he is just coasting along. Will they get over the hurdles? What will the reappearance of their ex's do?

I really like this book, however, I felt like I had missed a book in a series, there were things I didn't get. Who are these witches? Why are they stuck in Hawthorne Grove? There were just things I thought I should know that I didn't that made the story hard to understand sometimes, like I had been left out of the loop. Otherwise it is a very nice love love story, Kaylee and Jordan fall in love and it is just wonderful. I'm on to the second book where maybe I will get some answers, honestly I kept checkig to see if I was reading book 2 instead of book 1.

Kindle Unlimited, Leighann Dobbs writes under Leighann Dobbs, Annie Dobbs and (soon) L.A. Dobbs but her real name {not sure if she writes under that one} is Lee Dobbins, Hazel Martin Mysteries only one I found for this type with her, she has not made sure that terms used match the British terms as well as in other areas for that period of architecture and assorted styles.

The Notch Cozy Mystery Series {5 out as of this writing} and the Blackbore Sisters Cozy Mysteries are not on Kindle Unlimited which as said before about 1 & 7 {the only ones given free, sure would not have bought them} and ditto for Ghostly Paws which is 1 of 5 at this time but did get others free over time.

While some of her other books are Kindle Unlimited none of the Blackmoore Sisters Cozy Mysteries are which doesn't matter to me as read #1 and #7 and was way underwhelmed. Leighann Dobbs writes under Leighann Dobbs, Annie Dobbs and (soon) L.A. Dobbs but her real name {not sure if she writes under that one} is Lee Dobbins, Hazel Martin Mysteries only one I found for this type with her, she has not made sure that terms used match the British terms as well as in other areas for that period of architecture and assorted styles. By the way, bakeries and other food service places don't run like that. Badly needs to proof things, it's messing up the flow of the book, which my computer reads to me, so that's bad. As for these, it's not that the situations couldn't happen, it's in the telling of the story, with unlikable unbelievable characters and situations, again.

Yet another goodreads won't hide it don't want to see the badly proofed badly plotted poor excuse for bad soft core porn crap. The 'historical' ones are like that and so are the some of the non cozy mysteries and some of the sorta but not really mysteries because can't write, etc ad nauseum. The most any of them got was 2 changed to 1 for crap cozy, some get a 1 which means basically crappy soft porn 'romance' etc.

3 in Silver Hollow Paranormal Cozy Mystery Series so far which are on kindle unlimited, 3 in the Moosamuck Island Mysteries , 5 in the Mystic Notch Cozy Mysteries so far {not ku}, Blackmore Sisters has 7 {not ku}, Hazel Martin Mysteries only has 1 so far, Lexy Baker Cozy Mystery series 12 so far is on ku. Others.including Scandals and Spies Book series so far 4 which are basically romance soft core porn dreck but hey you can get them on ku. Witches of Hawthorne Grove 1 so far,Cevonne Bride of Oklahoma, Unexpected Series 4 so far ku.

The Lexy Baker Cozy Mystery Series By the way, bakeries and other food service places don't run like that. Badly needs to proof things, it's messing up the flow of the book, which my computer reads to me, so that's bad. As for these, it's not that the situations couldn't happen, it's in the telling of the story, with unlikable unbelievable characters and situations, again.

Copy/paste fill in the blank seems to be pretty much what she is doing in her books, which wouldn't be half as bad if the plots and ploys and actions were believable at all.Just change the name for a book and maybe change the series list under, and you are right back to copy paste same old same old.

NOTE: I specifically mentioned certain of the 'books'/series were achieving soft core crap status, and specifically said which ones those were, reference AGAIN the above quoted review, and did not specifically mention the blackmore ones as that, BUT and had not mentioned that had went back and rated all no talent no plot cardboard charactered 'stories' listed above as 1 as well. I will change the original review to reflect that, but it is still a 1, and MY review of the crap stands.

Another branch of the magical Ms. Dobbs!

A different type of magical onlookers. Sisters have been bringing people together to fulfill their destinies. Follow along when two such people meet in an unusual antique shop. Will true love follow or will there be bumps in the road? Why don't you pick up this account and see where it leads?

Real magic

The matchmaking witches had their work cut out for them, but once the magic of romance turns to love, everything just falls into place. What looks like disaster just makes things better. I generally read a lot of mystery novels, but this was just the thing after a couple that were just a bit dark for my tastes. Great story.

I have a habit of having books sitting in my TBR list for months before I get around to reading them. This was the case with this book and when I finally got round to reading it I remembered how much I enjoy Leighann's books. Just a touch of the paranormal, it tells the story how Kaylee and Jordan struggle to overcome issues caused by their previous relationships.

I don't read a a lot of romances,but...

I read this because I enjoyed all of Ms Dobb's books. I enjoyed and related to the main characters. I'm intrigued by the backstory of the witches. I definitely will be reading more of this series

Snow globe meets letterbox

Great story of love lost and love found with a bit of magical intervention. The characters ring true and the dialogue is natural. I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the series and will look for others.

A friend in a FB group had recommended this book, saying that it would have a mystery in it also.
This book is mainly a straight romance, it was a good story that was well written, with the suspected drama in it.
Even though this is not my normal genre, I found it to be an engaging story.

Too cute....by far. Witches, romance, old lovers stopping by, coincidentally on the same day. Too sweet, no plot.

Magical

Leave it to the neighborhood witches to mend two broken hearts. This was so fun as the two lovers found each other in this small town. Thank you Leighann Dobbs.

Original, but boring and sappy

Easy read, and small parts were original. Unfortunately the Ivey part of it was too predictable, and frankly people don't talk that way.

A nice read but…

A bit too formulaic and it seemed like the witches involved were just blunt interruptions in the romance story. Needs to be better

Enjoyed the witchy part...

I like a bit of romance and enjoyed the story for a good bit of it, but the romance part bogged down and became more soap than I prefer. I like the concept, but I think I'll stay with the other books by Ms Dobbs, thanks.

The three magical sisters, Esmerelda, Mortianna and Serephina, co-owners of Seville's Antiques and Collectibles, are bound by contract to use their match-making talent to bring together lost lovers. Their assignment for this Valentine's Day is to bring Kaylee's shattered heart back to life and unite her with Jordan. This is to be quite a task since Kaylee has totally withdrawn from the world for the past four years after her fiancee jilted her one month before the wedding. Still pining for him and resolving to never trust another male, can the magic actually work and break through her defenses, to see all that Jordan can offer her? An enjoyable light-hearted and touching romantic story with a touch of magic. I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the second book in this series to find out more about Sam.

Match making with a paranormal bent

Esmeralda, Seraphina, and Mortiana are three witch sisters who operate an antique business in Hawthorne Grove. From the outside their business looks like a falling down warehouse but on the inside it is a wonderland of beautiful antiquities. The sisters know that any of the articles that have 214 engraved on them somewhere are the special ones that will indicate by whomever chooses it who they must help in the romance department.

The concept for this series is clever. I never could figure out exactly why the witches had signed on for this duty nor for how long they were expected to keep at it. I became a little annoyed with Kaylee the mere mortal in the story. However, overall this was a fun cozy romance.

Something Magical, was Something Special......

Kaylee Dean is a woman hiding from the world nursing a broken heart, until she bumps into Jordan Parker one fateful day outside an innocent looking antique store...

I'm not sure the antique store is really that innocent when it's run by 3 meddling witches...lol Mortiana, Esmerelda and Serephina love to give people love lives a little nudge in the right direction, which makes this romance story even sweeter and funnier than most romances.

Leighann Dobbs is a favourite cozy writer of mine, I love her mysteries, I love her supernatural stories and I love love love her romances whether they are contemporary or historical Leighann is a brilliant storyteller and Something Magical is the beginning of something extra special.

A snow globe at the beginning and a snow globe at the end and all kinds of excitement in between. Three sisters who just happen to be witches who own Seville's Antiques and Collectibles, a couple who 'get thrown' into each other at the door of the antique shop, and two exs who 'just happen' to arrive back in town at the same time, a dog tag, and an ad for the Cressley Cade Animal Rescue Society keep things moving nicely. However, I would NEVER want to be with anyone who says, "It's just a dog"! Other than that, I really enjoyed this book.

Wow!

I am dying waiting knowing the next book won't be out until July! I loved it! Romances aren't my first choice but I am a huge Leighann Dobbs fan and grabbed it the day it came out. It was one of the best books I have read recently and the characters are wonderful. The hint of magic is very sweet and just right. The ending is so satisfying but I really hope to hear more about Kaylee and what happens after this book ends but it was so nice with coffee, animals and antiques so I can just imagine the possibilities of what is still to come.

Magical romance

Book 1 of the Witches of Hawthorne Grove is a sweet romance with bits of magic. There is mystery surrounding the 3 sisters who own a very magical antique store. The writing is good and is an enjoyable read. I recommend it to readers of Leighann Dobbs and romance stories.

Something magical

Spells and incantations aren't the only magical things in the world as this book clearly demonstrates. And sometimes letting things run natural course is best in long run.
Delightful book.
