Alexa O'Brien, Huntress #9

Forget About Midnight

Rate this book
Alexa's struggle with the turn has sent her straight into the arms of the one man who feeds her madness: Kale Sinclair. Together they wreak havoc on the city and discover why they are so wrong for one another.

When Alexa's sister, Agent Juliet O'Brien, gets busted covering up Alexa's kills, she's arrested by the government op she works for. They offer Alexa a deal. If she turns herself in, Juliet goes free. It's risky but it just might provide her with an opportunity she never anticipated.

The separation from Arys is starting to weigh on them both. As Alexa's sanity suffers so do her relationships. A Jekyll and Hyde mentality makes her unstable and unpredictable. If she continues on this path of destruction, her dark side will take her to a place she can never come back from.

I am the author of the Alexa O’Brien Huntress and the Rebel Heart series. I write urban fantasy that is dark and gritty with a twist of romance and horror but which is ultimately about people in dark places discovering who they are and what they’re made of.

I’ve been writing since the age of 9 when I had a Christmas themed short story published in the local town paper. A lover of rock music, vampires and muscle cars, I’m a dreamer who always secretly wanted to be a rockstar.

I love to hear from readers so don’t hesitate to drop me a line.

I was so excited to start this. Then I was angry and unhappy. This is my most disappointing read of the year so far. I'm going to have to come back to write a real review when I can use my big girl words and not just swear words.

There is always going to be that one book in a series that just doesn't hit the spot like the others, for me, this was the one in this series.

The first half of the book we are following Alexa through her transition to full vampire and her fight to find out who she now is. Arys and Shaz are left high and dry from Alexa for most of the story and I don't remember how many times I was screaming in my head for her to stop being stupid, she needed to go to Arys.

The second half of the story picked up when we got back into the storyline. Turns out Alexa's demon mark fix was right under her nose. We see a lot of Falon. (I think this bad boy angel might be growing on me just a little) For Willow fans, no fear we find out what has become of him.

Might not be my favourite story in this series, but by the end the set up for the next book had me interested. You may love this story, watching the transition of Alexa. Or you may be like me and yelling in frustration at her most of the story :) Either way stick it out till the end.

The strong point about this series is the wherewolf and vampire in trio with the girl. Ok i get it people asked to read more about Kale. But then dont leave out the magic trio. That's the main strong point why. people read this series!,, Really missed some with this edition.

The end: dont know why it ended there
Epilogue: dont know what it should have added and what it does there?!

Not sure if it was worth the 5 bucks....

It's taking me forever to read this book. The more I read the more I hate Alexa. Most the characters are great but Alexa. Yuck. She's horrid.

Not my favorite

Although, I love this series this book was a disappointment. It was all poor me, Arys killed me and it is his fault for turning me a vampire, Shaz is to weak to know what he wants, and let me just hang out and kill with Kale. It seems like the only person she professed her love to was Kale. Alexa made stupid decision after stupid, and stated she was having a hard time forgiving. But if the shoe was on either on Shaz's or Arys' foot, she would be carrying a different tune. I just felt this book could be passed up, it was mostly a poor me pity party. There were only two main plot points. Anyways, just my opinion. I will still read the next book, I am just so disappointed with this book because I expect so much more from the author.

Love This Book

I would say at the beginning of this book was very emotional ride and has and it went out through the book in a good way. I have to say the Arthur did a amazing job on this book and writing and detailing it too. I give this book a five-star and I will recommend it to a friend.

Honestly, I think Alexa needs to get over her issues with her dark vampire already. I love Falon in this book. He's an awesome character that gets a bad rap. This series is the best.

Great read!

Alexas life get more and more complicated and much more dangerous!
As she's trying to figure out her new state of being she is concerned about the effects of her new state in all those she loves.
Fast paced, brutal and totally addictive.
Highly recommended.

Forget About Midnight is the ninth book in the Alexa O’Brien Huntress series written by Trina M. Lee. The author picks up this installment with Alexa and her struggle of being turned into a vampire by her twin flame Arys. Although, Alexa and Arys knew this had to happen; it is still difficult for Alexa to accept. Alexa cannot understand how and why Arys took so much enjoyment in ending her human life. As a result she seeks solace from the one person who also brings out the darkness in her, Kale. With Kale and Alexa causing destruction wherever they go, Arys has no choice but to give her space; even if it means that Alexa is with Kale and he is suffering as well.

This book is darker and grittier than previous books, but that is expected with Alexa being turned into a vampire. The battle between the dark and the light within Alexa is testing her mental state; and it shows in this book. The author does a fantastic job in describing the struggle that Alexa is going through. The reader can not only feel her pain and suffering but that of Arys and Kale. She also has to make decisions that not only affect her, but the ones around her.

This installment has everything. There are moments of sadness, madness, forgiveness and acceptance. There are plot twists and moments that will surprise the reader. Trina also updates the reader on Willow, Shaz, Jez, and Falon. These characters are an integrate part of Alexa’s life and they need her, just as much as she needs them. I am looking forward to reading the next book and catching up with Alexa and everyone else.

this is my second book for the month of June. I have fallowed this series from the beginning. I am a huge fan of Ms. Lee. this story isn't one of her best from this series. I was so excited to read it but it had a slow start for me.

SPOILERS!!

Amazing series, specially for a this genre. Everything is how I imagine the vampire/werewolf life to be like.

I love Alexa but I found irritating specially towards the end, I was waiting for her to get over the fact, that change that she knew was coming had happened. I was waiting for badass Alexa to stop feeling sorry for herself and get revenge on Shya.

Falon and Alexa... YES YES YES!!!! So wrong but so so so right! I love Falon... obviously not as much as I love Arys and Shaz but I just knew this would happen and I loved it!!!!

I gave this four star because it wasn't my favourite because of Alexa not being who u thought she would be... patiently waiting for the next one to see if she can win me back.

LOVED IT!!! ANOTHER FANTASTIC TRIP!!!!

Trina Lee has truly created a fantastic array of characters in her Alexa O'Brien series. Finally Alexa dies her mortal death and continues her twin flame journey as a vampire. For those that enjoy a great, pulse pounding read, this is worth your money and time. I love how intricate the characters lives are woven together. It is impossible to describe, but it is easy to find yourself relating to and feeling empathy for each and every character's decisions along their path throughout the series. This is my second read through the series in anticipation of the release of Sinister Pretty due out in February. I can't wait!!!!!!!!

I related to this book out of the series more then I thought I would. the inner struggle Alexa has at trying to balance the light and dark. having to understand the weight of her actions and of others. her relationships with her twin flame and Shaz and then with Kale. but then the struggle of addiction is also present so I feel this book out of the series focuses more on the actual mental turmoil alexa has to face which was a great way to further develop the big picture of the story

Great as usual

As always wonderful a bit darker but that was to be expected. I expect Alexa to try to fight her way back to more light. All my fav characters were in this one and some twists and turns I didn't see coming. Great writing.

This series is one that I will drop whatever else I'm reading to read the next installment! I just love the characters. Having said that, I'm kinda getting annoyed at Alexa's behavior and just want her back with Arys and Shaz.

This is by far my least favorite book of the series. I am having trouble just getting through it. I do not like the turn it took in this book. It keeps repeating the same stuff over and over. Not sure what happened and what the story lost during this book. I hope then next one is better...
