Traveling across space and time to make first contact, explorers discover a terrible predator. Now only a band of time travelers stand between humanity and the long dark.
The previous Ansibles found themselves marooned, but Zahid, last survivor of "Ansible 15718," commands an interstellar fleet, and Sahira, the psionic savant we meet in " Night Land" and " Strike Force," will take the battle to the pneumavores, humanity's fiercest predators.
In Season Two of Ansible , humanity's last conflict continues to blossom open, dark fire and dark flower, torching all of time and space. These are your descendants' stories. Their cries in the dark. They are not to be missed.
PRAISE FOR
"Litore's stories aren't only entertaining. They are stories invading our lives, unexpectedly. You encounter them, as you might encounter people. They are those random elements in life that happen to you, like a mugging, like childbirth, like falling in love and marriage, like death and the funeral that follows. They are moments that leave a mark, and leave you changed." - Andrew Hallam, Ph.D., Metropolitan State University of Denver
"Stant eloquently writes passages that are so moving, full of passion, fury, loneliness, blind drive ... He takes us to places of amazing beauty, awe-inspiring, as well as places where the implications in the story can leave you almost in despair for the human race." - Nikki Ebright, Director, Myths & Legends Con

This story has completely overwhelmed me! The moral and philosophical aspects of humanity's right to conquer space, the soberbia of mankind as the only species worth living is a realistic reflection of today, the expansion of humans throughout the universe is parallel to the colonization era of Asia, Africa, the America... the extermination of millions, the doctrine of religion by force...this book is full of sadness and hope, fight for the survival of humans. It's a moving story, so beautifully written. It reflects Stant as a very sensitive, compassionate, generous and objective person! Adding this series to my list of favorite books!
Like volume one, feels like mostly just establishing stuff but I don't feel certain volume three will have sufficient pay-off, because the mix of fantastic elements don't feel coherent to me. At least I got my fill of Night Land, but the ansibles in this world are very different from Le Guin's ansibles, to the point that it almost feels disrespectful for me to use the word. I think Le Guin often writes from an anthropologist's point of view, a peaceful observer and a lot of her characters are like that too, but here it's just used for intergalactic conquest. Le Guin also conjured images of a dying earth far more effectively even when that's not the main thing the book is about. Here it would be the main motivation for everything that happens, but it's never shown, never felt. Maybe comparing to a classic is unfair, but I think if you take a concept from another author, the comparison naturally comes with that.
Magnificent, mind blowing, like science fiction should be.
I quite liked Stant Litore’s first book in the Ansible series, a collection of loosely collected stories that all tied together in the final part, and got stronger with each chapter. This sequel keep building on that momentum and is everything I wanted from a continuation, and everything I didn’t know I wanted as well.
The beauty of Season Two is overwhelming. This series is exquisitely written; Litore's writing is so rich and compelling, a thing of beauty. I couldn't put Season One and Season Two down, and am so excited to read more. Highly recommend.
Another fantastic entry. I absolutely love the main character and the journey through the Nightland. I thought the first entry was good, but this is even better!
